Possible Serial Killer Neal Falls Had List of Six Other Women: Police
by M. Alex Johnson

Neal Falls, the Oregon man who may be linked to 10 or more missing or murdered women, was carrying a list of six other women when he was killed last week by a West Virginia sex worker, police said Monday.

Charleston, West Virginia, police released a Post-It-like note they found in Falls' pocket July 18 after the sex worker, who hasn't been publicly identified, shot him with his own gun as he tried to strangle her. A copy of the note was obtained by NBC station WSAZ of Charleston.
304 and 681 are WV area codes. 858 is San Diego. I assume the numbers to the right are their ages.

ETA: LE has contacted the women, and they are all alive and claim to have had no contact with NF.

Hmmm, wonder what that "A" by the last visible area code signifies...?

Have the weapons and other stuff found been checked for blood stains by a well equipped forensics laboratory?

It is my understanding that some residues will often show up even when there was some attempt to clean it up. Anyone follow the CSI shows... and can comment on this?

I think it's safe to assume weapons and all other items seized will undergo the most rigorous and thorough forensic analysis in an FBI lab.

And you're correct that DNA can escape even a very careful cleaning. For instance, blood residue can be left behind in places where it's practically invisible to the naked eye, like the tiny spaces where a knife blade joins the hilt, or in the teeth of a serrated blade.

I didn't see it mentioned, but that post-it note picture was photoshopped. The "smudge" tool was used to blur the rest of the phone numbers. You can see the dashes where the full numbers were.

If they had not yet had contact, it really just means he had not physically met them, yet. I suspect that those kinds of transactions involve some "setup" work before the actual meeting. And, the service providers are probably unlikely to share their entire email/SMS inbox with authorities to see if there are any common customers.

Frankly, although he seemed quite calm to this near-victim, I think it is still possible that there were no prior victims. Setting the gun down where she could get it was a bonehead move. It seems like there are 2 scenarios:
1) Either he was well-practiced and got complacent.
2) He was still a rookie at this and made a rookie mistake.

I mean, all that stuff in his car? Three episodes of Dexter are probably 2 more than you need to figure out what to bring.

Is there a list of missing people from the actual areas that he lived? There's a possibility, of course, that this guy hunted grounds far from his home, but that's a tough tradeoff to rationalize. He would be unfamiliar with the locale, whereas the victim would have an advantage.

ETA:
Oops.

Well.

Some of that info is now coming out:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/...ing-link-to-missing-women-20150728-story.html
Police have said Falls rented a room in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson when four prostitutes went missing in the area.
Cooper said Falls had "many contacts with law enforcement" across the country.
"He has been stopped and investigated by the police in upwards of 20 states," Cooper said.

That is a bunch of times being in suspicious situations.

I'm seeing as some said before, an Israel Keyes type of scene here. Good thing is the guy is dead and I'm sure LE will find a lot of information in his possessions. Bad thing the guy is dead and can't talk. But good riddance.

This story has this bit of information:
In Nevada, meanwhile, authorities are eyeing Falls in a string of prostitute murders in Las Vegas. Falls, originally from Springfield, Ore., reportedly rented a room in the suburb of Henderson from 2000 until 2008 -- during which four sex workers disappeared.

Of course, it is hard to say whether that reported timeframe is accurate or not. But, that would overlap with the Indiana handgun permit. It seems like he probably didn't live in Indiana, but used an address there for the permit.

I was thinking about soil analysis on the shovels, etc. I think that might be key in finding out what areas to follow up more closely on.

I see what you are saying about the photoshop. It appears to have the area code - dash - phone number - dash - NAME and age.

Also, I don't think this was a first time for him. Serial killers seem to get sloppy after awhile. Gacy, Dahmer, Bundy, just to name a few.

San Diego! Hopefully LE can track down NF's cell and credit card records to determine where he was and when. Gary Michael Hilton was also a 'drifter' SK. GMH stalked National Parks and stole from his victims to survive.

That list gives me the shivers. It looks like a creepy shopping list. :scared:

Heather had a separated shoulder, broken vertebrae, strangulation marks around her throat and other injuries, Cooper said.

police said records show that authorities in states including Arizona, Kentucky and Virginia had interactions with Falls such as stopping him, running his license plate or checking his Social Security number.

Police have said Falls rented a room in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson when four prostitutes went missing in the area.

Cooper said police are gathering information on Falls. It appears he was staying in his car, where he kept a pillow and sleeping bag, Cooper said.

his eyebrows are weird

I don't know if they've been plucked or what but they look weird to me

I'm not too interested (yet) in Neal Falls. I am interested in the Chilly cases but not totally convinced of a connection. A while back I posted on the Chillicothe missing women thread and it got moved here. I think it is more pertinent to that case and would like to ask if it could be moved back.
