Some really interesting developments within the last hour. Would love to hear other peoples' thoughts on this.

Utah investigators 'not ruling anything out' in double homicide near missing Gabby Petito incident - FOX News
<snipped & BBM>
Utah investigators have not ruled out a potential connection between two high-profile cases
in the scenic campgrounds around Moab – a grisly double-homicide that left newlyweds dead and an apparent lovers’ quarrel involving a woman who has since gone missing.

[...]

Schulte worked nearby at a co-op grocery store called Moonflower – the organic, herb-scented bodega where Gabby Petito, 22, and Brian Laundrie, 23, got into an emotional argument that prompted a police response on Aug. 12.

The proximity of time and location prompted speculation that the two separate incidents may share another connection.

[...]

Laundrie has been named a person of interest but not a suspect in connection with Petito’s disappearance, and authorities have not definitively linked the two cases.

Turner and Schulte were newlyweds on a camping trip when they were shot and killed. Schulte’s aunt Bridget Calvert said her niece and Turner had told friends at least twice about a man who was "creeping them out" around the campground, FOX 13 reported.

Would someone really risk driving across country with a body in the van?

Letecia Stauch comes to mind.

This is not a longterm, hardened criminal, if he did such a thing. I don't think he did - just saying. I think he knows exactly where and how he last saw Gabby, though.

Presumably, sometime after Grand Teton...

I NEVER carry cash, not even for emergencies. I do wonder what their circumstances were. Being so young, how did they fund their travel?

They may have had savings. Gabby’s mother said, I believe, that she had helped fund Gabby. (I don’t have a link handy for that, but it was in a MSM article posted earlier today.) Any hope of monitizing their adventures didn’t seem to have happened yet.

MOO

The text that Gabby's mom thinks maybe didn't come from Gabby - the no service in Yosemite text - pinged in Sacramento apparently. So yes, it appears they have access to her records and location through her phone.
I don't see the words "pinged" on the map. There's a difference saying that they were there and actually pinging there. It says the text said "No service in Yosemite." Not that it pinged there.

I’ve wondered if he took her body back to Florida. Because everyone is searching WY & UT.

I can't imagine why anyone would do that - out there in Utah/Wyoming, the possibilities are virtually limitless for where to bury a body, where no one would even come upon you while you're doing it.

Could be the actions of someone who panicked? Didn't know what to do? Parents helped after the fact? Maybe?

Well, "Holding her face" in my universe is physical abuse. Was it a gentle holding? Probably more of a grabbing. Probably left marks on her face.
Speculation, IMO

The one incident of physical violence between the two that is not speculation but documented by the NY Post from the Moab Police report was:

According to the report, the couple got into an argument near a local convenience store “over a phone,” and Petito attempted to slap Laundrie, who locked her out of the van “to create distance” between them.

“Brian said Gabrielle, thinking he was going to leave her in Moab without a ride, went to slap him,” the report said. “As Gabrielle started to swing, Brian pushed her away to avoided the slap. As a result Gabrielle, off-balance, but still caught Brian’s face with some fingers causing minor visible scratches.”

Brain needs to tell law enforcement what he knows about Gabrielle and her whereabouts. I can't understand why he doesn't. Also, I can't understand why he has not been arrested for stealing her van. Can anyone speculate as to why?

Gabby Petito's Friend Named Person Of Interest After Her Disappearance During Road Trip | X99News

Investigators and Petito’s family beg Laundrie to share crucial information that could help find her. North Port Police Chief Todd Garrison even accused Laundrie of “impeding this investigation”, stating that “the answers will eventually come out”.
“As a father, I can imagine the pain and suffering of Gabby’s family,” Garrison said in a statement. “We’re begging everyone, including Brian, to share with us information about her whereabouts over the past few weeks.”

Emphasis mine. :(
Just speak up and help yourself to be cleared if you're innocent, BL !
Yes the focus is on you ... not only as the boyfriend/fiance' -- but more important --you were the only one with her and saw Gabby last.

A small bit of levity from the same link :
Laundromat has not made itself available to be questioned by investigators, police said.

It helps to have a proofreader eliminate typos. :p

Imo.

lol, haply anytime I have written his surname, the worst it autocorrects to is ‘Laundries’, which is forgivable.

(This is so unusual, IMO.)

I hate this "mental illness" narrative too. She was probably emotional and upset for good reasons. Speculation based on things her mother has said - she's in a bad relationship. Her boyfriend is doing things that scare her, annoy her, bother her, and she's had it. they get de-engaged, according to her mother. They fight a lot, big fights that terrify her, with police being called. Anyone in that situation would be emotional. She's far from home with this guy, no one else to help her, maybe they don't have much money, and she's got anxiety that is being made worse by the bad situation. I feel terrible for her, but at the time, the cops kind of do the "hysterical female" thing with her and even bring up "battered boyfriend syndrome"! Unbelievable. (It's mentioned in their report).

And... This is all the more reason to be in touch with her family, not drop the communications. Even if the worst has happened, I fully expect the POI boyfriend to blame everything on GP, and now he's got a police report that details how out of control she was.

Just all speculation of course.
The bolded part. Are these the mom's words or are they your words? I haven't read where her mom has said this but I haven't read all the articles.

one thing i know for certain is everyone knows that a couple is gonna argue, for me to decide to call 911 when i see a couple having a arguement things would have had to esculate to something scary, hitting, pushing, shoving...something that made me feel one was in danger, then i would call so that lets me know that i had to be a bad fight. IMO....it wasnt the last fight and since we know where Brian is....the bad happened to Gabby!

So if the power was only out briefly while she was in the hotel why did she not use the WIFI to be in contact with her family? It just seems so strange, she went so many days without the net, I'd think she would be burning it up She talked with her dad cause he sent food. What about mom, cousins etc

I’m confused on this too. My understanding is her dad ubered food to her bc she didn’t have power no couldn’t order herself but then her speaking with her dad was via FaceTime, which would require power. Was it actually a money issue?

I believe that evidence of that sort has been allowed in court before, on a ‘for whatever it’s worth’ basis.
MOO

Even if it's not allowed in court, it's still good information. If there's evidence that Gabby was deceased in the van, then her remains are probably not going to be found a couple of miles up a hiking trail.
