I thought the same thing, MOO. But also, you will note that they appear to have taken evidence from 2 locations. Petito’s death ruled a homicide, experts see Laundrie as abuser. The rock by the water is a different location (a bit down from where she was actually located MOO), which is why I had asked on a previous thread if anyone knew if he crossed the water with her. Only one rock, out of all of those rocks, is marked. They must have something there. Something found either on the rock or in the water near it? Don't know. Speculation and MOO IMO

The crime scene photos really do not give you much of a good picture. I am struggling with them too. The one picture to the left of the rock, you can see behind the tree all those rocks and the stream, so that one fits in. But the others, I wish you an see the ground to get a good picture of what happened. I am still unsure of where they actually found her. The 2 stone crosses confuse me. Your guess about crossing the water can very well be the story! Maybe he tried to get her to a more secluded area? All of it is awful. I hope he is found this week!

Informative photos in this article.

A few firearm & ammo facts:
1) It would not be smart to target shoot in a Federal Park where it is prohibited. High probability of arrest.
2) If those are bullet holes… there are definitely projectiles within the wood that the FBI could recover
3) A 9mm bullet, 115 grain FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) will go through 2” of a 2x4 at 18 yards, clean hole punch (personal experience)
4) A .380 is usually 85 grain might penetrate the same 2” of 2x4 (speculation)
5) Hollow points generally do not penetrate plywood unless the ammo is LE grade hollow point (which civilians can buy, but it’s not common for them to do so.)
6) Hollow Point ammunition is legal for private citizens in Florida. Some citizens use it, some don’t.
7) FMJ ammo is usually used for target practice for economy. Hollow point ammo is about 2x the cost of FMJ and is not necessary for target shooting.

Speculation: That’s a hell of a lot of shots to murder one person, unless victim is running.

I have not read the things you all have posted about guns and the photos from Wyoming, but IMO, BL would always do what is easiest and least noticeable - so hitting or strangling. Also I doubt he knows much about firearms; maybe just enough to be dangerous, but still feel he would take the easy way to do everything.

I feel for the innocent neighbors, esp. the one going through chemo I however do not have any empathy for the Laundrie's they can end this all right now by turning in their son. All they have to do is go talk with FBI. It's that simple.

I do too. I feel horrible for Gabby’s family. For the protesters, I totally get it! I’m 100% on board with using the public to pressure his parents to talk before the FBI finds him.

I would have handcuffed myself to their front door 24 hours a day if it were my daughter.

These neighbors (presumably) didn’t do anything though. As long as they have cooperated with LEO questions and provided any ring video, etc. they should at least be able to work (from home) and recover from cancer in peace.

Sometimes silent protests can be the loudest.

It never would have crossed my mind to search if there was a town California, NC. Thank you for that. But, IMO, is he not going the wrong way then unless, he has a firm plan, or planned aid to get him out or sheltered? Winter is coming. But then again maybe this is what he's banking on. Maybe making it up to the Adirondacks or Maine where recluse Christopher Tomas Knight lived for so long. Perhaps he thinks going north with harsh temps on the way may be the plan that LE would discount as a last resort? MOO. Just thinking out loud.

If it was BL, there's no reason I can think of he'd want to go to California, NC. It's tiny. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It's also a rural area of the state that has more black than white residents. All of those factors would make it pretty hard for a white fugitive from Florida to blend in. But it's perfectly possible there is a confused white guy in the mountains who wants to go there because that's where his GF is. "He's going in the wrong direction" wouldn't necessarily apply if he's not BL.

The engineer is positive he couldn't have made a mistake. But eyewitnesses DO make mistakes. And his engineering background wouldn't prevent a mistake although he seems to think it would.

My 02¢ -
"So I think that our little squabbles started because you’re hanging out at the coffee shop and when he got back to the van, [inaudible 00:12:59] I moved our food around, so she gets a little…"

The Van Life video segment where Gabby was making breakfast while BL was doing yoga it has been pointed out that "his" granola was melted - had been in the sun and he jumped up as soon as she picked it up.

There was an explosive argument at a restaurant shortly before Gabby died.

And Gabby stated her profession as nutritionist. She focused a lot on food IMO.

Finally, at the DV stop Gabby wanted water. They were out of water. She had no problem drinking from two plastic bottles - based on the photo of her clutching the two despite BL specifically waving them off. Gabby wanted to get going from the Moonflower because they were out of water. BL wanted to "calm down and go for a walk" - not something I would want to do if I hadn't had any water since 9 am.

ETA: that six gallon jug they used for water must have been plastic so o_O

CONTROL

MOO, MOO MOO - food and water were flashpoints in this already disfunctional relationship. MOO

FBI must have good reason to be ignoring Davis' sighting tip. All I can think is that they are confident that he was in the reserve and died there. If they thought he was still alive, it would still be "all hands on deck". I sure hope they are certain about this. jmo

I have the feeling the FBI already has BL, especially after the last visit to the Laundries.
Someone mentioned here that, evidence is usually held until the conclusion of a criminal case. In this FBI visit, one of the FBI agents entered the house carrying a "large" brown paper bag and left the house without it. I've been wondering since then what was inside that brown paper bag.
This could also explain the Laundries' silence and lack of emotion leaving and entering their house.
This is purely speculation on my part.

Yes, last night I was responding to another member about those being from possible target practice by someone else. While it is probably not the case, they were exploring all avenues for the bullet holes. Looking at the crime scene photos, another member pointed out they were larger holes. I was simply saying, if he had a gun for protection, it's not uncommon at all to use hollow points for a protection gun. I was not speculating someone was using hollow points for target, I was speculating BL had his gun and used it on her which could explain why the holes looked bigger than average. Or there's the possibility of them being dug out by FBI. JMO

Quick question...if what you posted about the FBI already having BL what do you think the reason is that they continue to search? Just curious.

Talking about abuse can be helpful for those still alive and needing help. Debating about that which we can never know is futile.
Many of us vividly recall abuse of various kinds from that same age. (Or later, been there, done that). Maybe we also did it unknowingly to others, or recognized in retrospect.

Everyone has something to contribute even to "that which we can never know". If I had children of that age I'd tell them to be very careful about choosing a life style with dependency on the same person you pick as a partner. IE financial and social ruin if one partner decides to sabotage or not pull their weight.

So there are lots of things we'll never know, which is why WS is so valuable to many who have seen just their own part of the elephant.

Speaking of tattoos......
I posted this about tattoos in case you didn't see it and are interested.

Family of Gabby Petito reveal matching tattoos in her honour
GABBY PETITO: Parents get tattoos in her memory, seek 'justice for her homicide,' urge Laundrie to 'turn yourself in'

Family of Gabby Petito show matching tattoos in her honour (The Independent)
AAOVrdQ.img

The parents and step-parents of Gabby Petito have revealed that they all got matching tattoos in honour of their daughter this week.

Petito’s mother and father, Joseph Petitio and Nicole Schmidt, and their spouses Tara Petito and Jim Schmidt, showed off matching designs on their forearms at a press conference on Tuesday.

Mr Schmidt said: “These were tattoos that Gabby designed herself, she was an artist.”

The designs included a flower inside a triangle and a wave that Gabby had drawn and the words “Believe” and “Let it be” in cursive.

“Let it be” was a reference to the Beatles song of the same name that Petito is said to have loved, and Mr Schmidt incorporated its lyrics into his eulogy for Petito on Sunday.

I knew about the “Let It Be” tattoo’s. It’s the leaf tattoo on fingers, including BL’s. I was just curious about them. Thanks!

i doubt they have him, this isnt evidense for a trial if its a dead body, they would notify the parents and the public so people could stop looking and frankly, they would be happy to announce that!!!

In regards to the whole nickname "Brianna" thing. It's a thing that parents have done for a long time. Anyone who watched an episode of Bewitched where Samantha's mother constantly calls her husband "Derwood" or some such name when his name is "Darren" has seen it. If you have adult children, you've most likely done it, sometimes by mistake. It was common in my day and age for parents to call a less than stellar boyfriend or husband "Nancy", of course that wouldn't fly today, and none of us were killed by our mates or physically abused. And then there's the proving time, the early on in a relationship where the other person sometimes has to earn the respect in the family. We have songs about it, jokes about it, lore about it-some dad sitting in a chair ready to meet the boyfriend for the first time while holding his gun and cleaning it.
None of this is indicative of a belittling or abusive father who is raising a woman to be belittled or abused or murdered. JMO.

If this had been directed at one particular boyfriend that would be one thing but allegedly it was *every* boyfriend and I think that casts it in a bit of a different light. Constant disapproval or your child's choices sends many tacit messages and they sure aren't going to confide in you if there are problems in the relationship because no one wants to hear "I told you so"

What strikes me more about that is the use of the "is" which denotes present tense - not past tense you'd expect when someone is no longer on this earth. MOO.

But then she did use 'did' instead of 'do'.

Did would indicate past-tense too.....

I thought the released information was for use of a card and weren’t specific about who’s card it was. Maybe I missed this information the thread moves very quickly.
You're right, that's an assumption on my part

One thing about this thread and all the others about GP and BL I see posters saying the FBI and LE MUST have other info they're not releasing. Each time I see a post that says this I am reminded of the Jamie Closs situation where we all thought LE had a lot more information that they weren't sharing and once she escaped and he was arrested they announced they had NO info or leads to go on of where she was and if she hadn't escaped they would have never found her.
It makes me wonder if LE and the FBI have info about where BL is or how to capture him. Just my thoughts for today...
