Strong, courageous, amazing: some of the words I see used to describe #GabbyPetito’s family. I spent time with them this weekend, including their visit to the memorial in North Port. What you’ve all said is so abundantly true, and then some. Incredibly special.

They have identified him. Somebody posted a link earlier from The Charlotte Observer.
A biker. His bike was found nearby. His manner of death had not been ascertained at that stage is what I remember from the article.

the charlotte observer story that was posted was actually from 2019...the OP didn't notice the date before posting...

I was shocked when it was ruled so quickly to be absolutely no accident, ... her body had been out in the elements for some time, yet this conclusion was arrived at almost immediately upon finding her, which leaves me with the same dread you have, miss kitty.
Ugg! My stomach just flipped with the worst thought!
I hope it isn't something that will give us all nightmares, but the way they are hunting for him. REALLY makes me think it was that bad.

We do not know what transpired with them from after the Moab altercation. We have no idea what the plan was. We have no idea of what communications they had when he was reportedly in FLA. We only know that his sister said she face-timed with Gabby while he was reportedly in FLA. His sister has not revealed anything about that communication, publicly. So, we don't know if Gabby was ok with BL being gone or not. We all wish that he had stayed in FLA and that Gabby would find a trusted driver to take her home to NY. Why that did not happen, we do not know. We can speculate, is all. jmo

It's so sad because her step-dad would have gone in an instant if he only knew. I read yesterday that she'd been with him most of her life and the impression I get from him is that she was absolutely precious to him. I'm sure JP would have done the same. Kids often don't like telling parents when things aren't hunky dory.

That's not correct. Someone accidentally posted an old story from 2019 about the dead biker. This is a different body, but the FBI says not connected to Brian.

Thoughts??

FBI is 'spread too thin' for Brian Laundrie search, ex-agent says

Kaplan told us: "The FBI is not tasked or mandated to investigate homicides. Homicides obviously are part of criminal enterprises, whether it's organized crime or, God forbid there's a bank robbery and someone gets shot and killed, but routinely a single homicide is not within the jurisdiction of the FBI.

"But now realizing the scope and breadth of this investigation, the FBI came in. They are certainly equipped to track down and conduct leads and go out and serve subpoenas and interviews etc.

"They've been asked to do many, many more things in the last couple of years that they used to not be asked to do."

Kaplan says the
drawback is that it "strains a lot of the resources", and agents could be focused on bigger investigations, although he does hope Gabby's family get justice.

"The general public is now beating on doors and demanding that this case be solved. And so the FBI has that pressure, that's the real life political spin on this, right?" he went on.

….

"Do I think that they can sustain 24 hours, seven days a week searching for this guy? Absolutely not. That's ridiculous.

"I don't want to sound callous or heartless, but it's a homicide of one person as tragic as it is.

"It has already been significantly scaled back where it's probably assigned to two case agents and a squad
. And as the lead comes in, depending on the credibility of the lead, it's then dealt with that way.
THIS!
Makes me think BL is a bigger "issue" than we know.

I took a 2 day trip at the end of June up thru Yellowstone and back down thru Grand Teton. The parks were packed with people, the jams were super long bumper to bumper during many times on my trip. I am sure August was not any different with crowds. My point is there were people everywhere and we only have a few that came forward with info or videos.
I have to hope that more people came foreword to the FBI if they saw him and what he was doing at the time. Also the situation at Mary piglets; it had to have been packed with people and so many witnesses would have seen him acting like his real self arguing with the waitress. I am only posting to say I home they are a lot of people that reported anything they saw related to GP and or BL. Another thought is that if he took hwy 89 east from Moran Junction that hwy normally has a lot of semi traffic and lots of people may have seen the van traveling east. Most semis now have a cam in them and there should be recordings of the traffic. I just cant imagine for the amount of time this has been in the news that people have looked back at videos and reported anything regarding this case to the FBI. That is my hope is that people have reported anything they saw. It is possible the FBI has a lot more tips than we can imagine..I just keep thinking about the crowds. jmo..thanks

The Laundrie parents are victims. Let's not forget that. They are not responsible for Gabby's death.
They are not responsible for her death. But they could be held accountable for the aftermath. How different would things have been if they had called Gabby's parent's on day one, telling them she had not returned with their son?

I think her remains would have been found very quickly, and LE would have a lot more necessary information on the tragic incident. And he would have been interviewed by LE most likely. Their actions contributed to the mess we are in now.

I'm going to throw this idea out here too:

Brian likely escaped by boat. (This theory requires 1 person unknown to us helping Brian) At Fort Desoto, during the night, he climbed on a tender that was prearranged (or hell, even an inflatable paddle board he brought with him and blew up at the campsite) and is now hiding comfortably on someone's boat. Someone the family knows. It's hard to hide on a boat by yourself. Dock neighbors can tell if someone is living on a boat and watch their movements, notice things ("Hey, their air conditioner is on but 'Bob' hasn't been around").
Even modest boats have AC and a toilet that flushes. You wouldn't even need to show your face outside. All a fugitive would need is someone (the boat owner) to pretend to go about their business, bring food and supplies back to the boat like usual, and none would be the wiser.

I thought the first thing the FBI would do is to check the fuel docks in the area to see if anybody made a large purchase in preparation for an outing. Or dock cameras. Or slip reservations? Or marina store cameras?

edited for spelling and MBIT (My Brian is Tired too!)
Anything is possible but it's hurricane season. And it hasn't been conducive to small craft boating for weeks now.

Their lawn hasn’t been mowed in awhile so I was actually wondering if the father will finally be doing something about it tomorrow. Curious to see if it was just the large sign removed or the whole lot of stuff there.
I saw the video on Twitter. It was the larger sign reportedly placed by the neighbors. It was facing the front of their house.

One more observation before I head out— Gabby’s family was in NP today to collect items from the memorial. There has been no LE activity at BL’s house to indicate that Gabby’s things were taken from the home to give back to her family. This would have been an opportune moment for that, no? Do we think they just tossed all of her things?

I would not be surprised if that family trashed all of Gabby's belongings. I'll be shocked if her family ever gets any of her stuff back except what LE has

Well.... why not start a thread , your own thread, about the pitiful treatment of the Laundries, worldwide?... instead of constant gaslighting on this thread which is about Miss Petito?..or.. (b)... not read anything you may consider to be detrimental to the Laundries, and so avoid being offended....

or ( c)....report every post that is not slanted to the joy of Laundrie, and the decency of the Laundries?.. .. or..

(d).. press the ignore button on every person who isn't enamoured of the Laundries and expresses that disenchantment every now and then?

Agreed! I have absolutely no sympathy for the Laundries whatsoever, and I think it is safe to say that many others don't either. If any sympathy should be given, IMO it should be given to Gabby Petito's family and to focus on finding her abusive fiance! And it is not 'the end', contrary to what the poster in question wrote! Not the end until Brian Laundrie is found.

I agree with you. I think there's a very good possibility that there was no love lost between these families and/or that at least one set of parents tried to stay out of the relationship as much as possible. I have never had any direct communication with the parents of my adult childrens' SO's, don't want any, and probably won't have any until they are at least engaged -- and I mean formally engaged, not matching-tattoo engaged. Idk what story Brian told his parents, but I can imagine a scenario where I wouldn't answer calls from his gf's parents. In my case, they probably wouldn't even have my number. jmo
What if your son and his girlfriend lived with you in your home for a year or two? Would that alter your communication habits with her family?

Who knows what happened to her stuff...BL could have left it in a storage unit and just removed his stuff or tossed it? Supposedly, nothing of hers is at the L home. If her parents got it back, wouldn't they have said something about it? They wouldn't know what the inventory even was after several years, so they wouldn't know what may be missing.........unless everything is. jmo

And don't forget they've been to at least one gathering together, in GP's mother's home. I tend to have the contact information of people I have socialised with, even if it's only once in a while. I was also under the impression that at some point they lived next to each other in NY, isn't that correct?
