Have no fear. We have no idea what the FBI is working on behind the scenes - reviewing surveillance footage, following tips, analyzing electronic data. They could even be searching physically in areas the press aren't looking. It is frustrating to have no updates, but I haven't given up hope yet :) MOO

This is my hope they have so much evidence on the killer they are indeed slow playing this. Obviously, though they may not.

That would mean that they either convened a GJ on the afternoon of the 21st or the morning of the 22nd. Can it be done that quickly? We don't have them in the UK, so I have no idea how they work!

In reading an unrelated article about grand juries, the way the participant described it is that they were sort of "on call" for a certain period of time. In a situation like that it wouldn't take any time at all - the grand jury is available, they just need to know when to show up.

HOWEVER - I don't remember where the person I read about was on a grand jury, or if it was a federal grand jury, if it is still handled the same way, or if his experiences would have anything to do with a federal grand jury in the district of Wyoming in 2021 so a great big MOO

She had FLA plates? If so, Fla address would be on Fla license................at least that's how I think it works registration, plates, license jmo

good point on the Florida plates, don’t know why that didn’t occur to me. To be more precise, I’m interested in determining whether wabasso ave was GP’s address of record

But will it be under the same indictment or a separate one?
Could be superseding but I'd imagine it's a whole other charge, more likely the lesser one will be tied in to the more serious later IMO. not sure about this tho'

If he'd kept his original phone we'd be home and dry now.
I note LE have his new phone.
I wonder whether Gabby's number was in it?
I was wondering that too - whether he ws calling to listening to her voice on a recording? But maybe not, if its switched off/destroyed

The day before Gabby was reported missing, the Petitos tried to contact the Laundries.

Two calls to the police from the Laundrie house were made that day. Three the following day.

I have to think those two facts are related. I wonder what happened to make the Laundries feel they needed police intervention. And whether it contributed to Brian running.

Three 911 calls 'were made from family home day Gabby was reported missing'
I’m sure those phone calls were a bit how can I say angry! Threatening!
I know I wouldnt have anything nice to say
And would be threatening !

You could absolutely be right! A thing you also probably understand much better than me for sure is legally where that line is, as far as what a lawyer can say & be untruthful or at least misleading about, without getting in trouble. I do wonder if a defence lawyer could tell the public one thing & tell LE another (or, LE already knows the other), knowing LE won’t publicly confirm or deny. Would that be a dicey strategy?
IMO, if you're not going to give a truthful answer, to the best of your ability, in both situations, you don't give one at all. I cannot think of any scenario where providing different information to the public than LE does any good. If anything, it makes you look questionable.

As far as disciplinary actions, I would assume there would have to be proof he intentionally gave the wrong information to LE.

Thanks for this. It has got me thinking. There was a grand jury convened for this indictment, correct? How long does it take to convene a grand jury?

Body Found Sunday 19th September
Autopsy results released Tueaday 21st September
Indictment filed with the court 22nd September

I would imagine for the GJ to find there was enough evidence to make the indictment, there must have been a determination that Gabby was dead at the given dates (30 August and 1 September).

My question is - if the body had been out in the open for a period of 3 weeks (+/- a few days), how did the coroner confirm the date of death within such a short time span?

I’m not sure if this has been posted already. Here is the link to the warrant for cell phone hard drives, computers, etc.

Maybe they do think he's guilty of something--even more reason to zip the lips, I would say. You think they should turn on their son and join your "team"? Wow...
They wouldn't be "turning" on their son, they would be getting him the help he desperately needs. Cooperating with police would increase the chances of their son being found more quickly. And alive.

good point on the Florida plates, don’t know why that didn’t occur to me. To be more precise, I’m interested in determining whether wabasso ave was GP’s address of record
It would be on her license....she did not live anywhere else in FL, but on Wabasso. jmo

Did GP ever live with JP in Florida?
Her mother gave RL and CL's current home address as GP's address in the missing person report that was posted in the last thread, and JP had moved to Florida "to be closer to his daughter" according to several articles I've read (for example, this one: Dad of Gabby Petito says 'he will do anything to find her' after she vanished on trip with fiance | Daily Mail Online), so given that, I think the answer is that she never lived with her father in FL.

Yes, according to the missing person report that was posted earlier today in the previous thread.

I was wondering that too - whether he ws calling to listening to her voice on a recording? But maybe not, if its switched off/destroyed
or an attempt to camouflage the knowledge he had that she was dead..?

She may have wanted to but I think she would be too afraid of repercussions to make that announcement out in the middle of nowhere....possibly, she was so exasperated that she did anyway, though. ugh jmo

In this scenario what if she suggests that they break up, he runs off angrily, comes back now she is gone? Far fetched yes but still a small possibility in what seemed like a volatile relationship.

Did GP ever live with JP in Florida?
MOO but I don't think so.

I believe we read that JP only moved to Florida after GP was already living there with BL. I swear I even saw something that said he did so in order to "keep an eye on her" or something along those lines.

My eyebrows went up when I read that, and I wondered what might have been his reason for feeling that was needed, but I've never seen it addressed since.

MOO

“Have you ever found yourself interrupted by intrusive thoughts about unfinished work? Perhaps they were about a partially finished work project keeping you up at night or the plot of a half-read novel that keeps circling your thoughts. There is a reason why it’s so hard to stop thinking about uncompleted and interrupted tasks. Psychologists refer to this as the Zeigarnik effect, or the tendency to better remember unfinished tasks than completed ones.” Source
