‘You never know what you’ve got in a photo’: Witnesses sought in Gabby Petito disappearance case | WFLA
[...]

SB said she spotted the couple’s van on Aug. 25 and contacted police.

“It had the black ladder on the back and the two black rooftops on top—the two bars—and we made the comment that would be the perfect little camper van to go around in,” Baker said.

Investigators are hoping more people come forward with information regarding the case.

“You never know what you’ve got in a photo,” said Teton County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Clayton Platt. “Low and behold there was a van that matches the description of this van in this case. All those little pieces can be pieces in the puzzle to help us figure out where Gabby is.”

FBI arrives in Wyoming to take over search for Gabby Petito (fox13now.com)
[...]

We are near Grand Teton National Park where the FBI is leading the search efforts.

[...]

Despite the size and scope of this search, authorities are being very tight lipped. We only know that the FBI is now in charge here.

Sources tell us this is because the search is focused on federal land and because the case is drawing so much attention.

Grand Teton National Park is over 300,000 acres and authorities are hoping tips from people who may have seen Gabby will help to narrow down their search area.

Brian Laundrie’s sister says it was “typical” for her brother and his girlfriend Gabby Petito to fight and then take a break from each other.

Asked about the police bodycam footage of officers speaking to a sobbing Petito and Laundrie after they got into a fight in Utah on Aug. 12, Cassie said: “It looked typical of both of them. Whenever they’d fight they’d take a break and be fine.”

Cassie admitted she hadn’t yet spoken to her brother after he returned to Florida in the couple’s van without Petito on Sept 1.
“I haven’t been able to talk to him. I wish I had information where I could give more,” she said.

Gabby Petito’s father was involved in a "public service" incident at fiancé Brian Laundrie’s home on Sept. 10, nine days after he returned to Florida without her from a cross-country road trip and a day before she was reported missing by her mother, according to heavily redacted police reports.

Nearly everything but the time and address is redacted due to the open investigation – but the documents do link Joseph Petito to a police response to the home his daughter lived in with Laundrie and his parents at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 10. They then returned twice on Sept. 11 for follow-up investigations.

#BREAKING: As search efforts continue here in Teton County, WY for #GabbyPetito. @NorthPortPolice confirm they are at #BrianLaundrie’s home to talk with his parents. Extent of those conversations is unknown. update from WY at 5. @KSL5TV

The vast majority of them are not helpful,” he admitted. “But it’s those nuggets, those little pieces in there that might be somebody who – obviously that vehicle drove a couple thousand miles to get back here to North Port. It didn’t do that on one tank of gas.”

Taylor was also asked on Friday about any potential on-the-ground grid searches out west, specifically in Teton County, Wyoming. Petito’s last known location was Grand Teton National Park, according to authorities.

“Certainly, the North Port Police Department is not going out there to do a ground search, that just doesn’t make any sense,” Taylor said. “Working with folks, I can’t even necessarily confirm what those authorities there are doing. We’re working closely with the FBI out of Tampa and they’re collaboratively working with the FBI out of the Denver area so that may or may not be happening.”

Laundrie, now a person of interest, returned home alone with the van the couple had been traveling with on Sept. 1 and has retained a lawyer, according to police. Petito’s family publicly called on Laundrie’s family this week to release any information they may have on Gabby Petito’s location.

“They’re being tortured right now by the potential of somebody having information and not relaying it,” Taylor said. “It’s just terrible. And speaking with him, you get a sense of what a man is going through looking for answers”

Gabby Petito's best friend claims Brian Laundrie was jealous and controlling | Daily Mail Online
Snipped a few bullet points-
  • Gabby Petito's best friend Rose Davis has claimed her fiancé Brian Laundrie, 23, was a jealous and controlling partner in their relationship
  • In an interview with DailyMail.com Friday, the 21-year-old recalled one occasion in which he allegedly stole Gabby's ID so she couldn't go out with Rose to a bar
  • 'Brian didn't want her to go out with me, so he took it,' she said. 'She was hysterical. She told me she slapped him and something about him pushing her'
  • Rose, who's from Sarasota, said she met Gabby, 22, early last year on Bumble BFF and began hanging out with the couple at their home in North Port
  • She said Laundrie came off as a sweet and caring guy, but was always worried Gabby was going to leave him and later tried to stop them from hanging out
  • 'I'm her only friend in Florida to my knowledge and that's not because she can't make friends, he just didn't want her to have friends,' she said
  • The two were so close they even shared their locations with each through an iPhone app, but when Laundrie found out, he made Gabby delete it, said Rose
