According to Chapman’s spokeswoman, he expects to hunt for Laundrie in the field on Friday, escorted by a plain-clothes police officer in coordination with local law enforcement officials.

Chapman, who has a tips command center in Hawaii and a temporary headquarters in Sarasota, Florida, just received a tip that placed Laundrie’s sister Cassie in Fort De Soto Park, the campground where Laundrie and his parents camped on September 6.

If she were just going to lie, why would she agree to the interview? She doesn't seem to be connected or involved and Gabby sent the sweetest postcards to her kids. I can't imagine CL was secretly cackling that she was misleading the media to help her brother by giving this sad short interview. Know what I mean?

I felt like the interview was more like: wow, since this whole thing blew up, do you know what's been going on? And she says no, I haven't been able to talk to him, I wish I could. I don't think she said anything specific nor did she intend to be misleading. I just don't see the point.

Generally I agree with your opinion.

I was struck by her avoiding any "love" for Gabby. Her kids love and adore Gabby, but CL never says she feels the same way.

I understand that an interview may have been spur of the moment, but the lack of CL expressing any direct feelings about Gabby grabbed my attention.

Hope there is clarity in the future.

I don’t think BL’s sister’s kid should deserve perfect on their lawn screaming through bull horns. For that matter we don’t know what she was told by BL and I would die for my baby brother, god know good bad or indifferent I at the very least would want o believe he was not capable. I thishe may have been freaked out and just doing damage control. The only person who knows what happened is hiding and I won’t pass judgement on his family who he left to deal with the fallout of his actions. Ps IMO
I won't pass judgement on the rest of his family, however his parents ignored calls and texts about their son's finace (their future daughter-in-law) who had lived with them for two years from her parents who were desperate to find her.

Not frantic, not grieved by his absence, not around the bend with worry, not living in an abyss of despair...concerned.
You are concerned when you think you left your bank card in the machine at Walmart, not when your adult child is the object of a manhunt.
And not a word of thanks to the hundreds of members of LE braving heat, mosquitoes, gators, sand spurs, exhaustion looking for their son.
I'm at a complete loss...

I just have so much trouble with all of the family’s actions since BL got home. And I don’t understand the lawyer’s statements. If it turns out that the parents know his location, does this constitute a lie to the press? I understand that it’s basically saying nothing because they could know he’s sitting in a cabin and still be concerned but hopeful, but public statements to media are admissible if the case goes to trial, right? If the parents have no idea where BL is, I’d imagine they’d be a heck of a lot more than concerned… I’d think they’d be pleading for his safe return. And if they do have an idea of where he is, this seems like an odd statement to release. JMO.

I've been going back over the timeline, and I really wish there was more information about what happened between the Moab stop and the Merry Piglets sighting. Starting with where did GP stay on the night of August 12 when they were separated by the police? What really was going on while she was in hotel in Salt Lake City and where BL? I don't really have anything to add, but I feel like a lot must have gone on in that time that could explain what happened later so I wish we knew more.

I can only assume (hope?) that the FBI is poring over tons of surveillance footage, check ins/outs, eyewitness accounts, etc.

Although at the moment, the path to apprehending Brian and forcing him to be accountable for his role in Gabby’s murder is the most important thing, this is something that has really bothered me. That supposed flight home that Brian took. Why? What actually was the reason? His parents obviously has contact with him. Did he actually take her belongings out of storage as was mentioned? Wouldn’t that be something that would have been taken care of before their journey? Wouldn’t that be something she mentioned to her parents? Her dad sent her food at a hotel at that time if reports are true. If he did move her belongings, did Gabby know that’s what he was doing? Did supposedly do this because he was done with the relationship in his mind? If so, why even go back? That missing block could tell a lot about the state of their relationship, his frame of mind at the time and why things transpired the way they did after his return, leaving Gabby murdered. It’s so strange that if in fact this trip took place that it hasn’t been scrutinized at all aside from being mentioned.

I’m editing to add that I really wish I knew if her parents knew about the Moab incident when it happened or if they had to find out like the rest of the public did.

Yes, these are things that drive me crazy, too. Also, was she talking to her parents at the August 12 stop? Or afterward, when she was alone? If she had told her mom about any DV, did she tell her mom BL was far away, in FL? I think she must not have told her mother very much about it, because ISTM that time when he was gone would have been a great time for parental intervention.
I totally agree and about five threads ago I posted the same. I think that period of time is critical. In a little over two weeks GP was gone and during that two weeks very little, if anything was heard from either of them.

I hope so too. Perhaps CL thought GP and BL had a troubled relationship, and that complicated her feelings for GP.

Just feel like sharing this in case others feel the same: IMO it's so sad that even if Brian Laundrie is caught and charged with Gabby's demise and either gets the death penalty or life in prison, there still isn't 100% justice for Gabby because she is no longer alive :( And noone can bring her back to life as of right now... our scientific knowledge and methods haven't advanced to the point of bringing people back to life. Gabby had so much to offer to the world and to herself in particular: so many more places to see, so many more adventures to go on and enjoy. Heartbreaking </3

This is a very basic question but does anyone know GP's TikTok username (if it is public)? I can only find accounts set up by others

Lots of speculation about where BL has run off to and/or is hiding. Chartered a boat to Cuba. Hopped on a cruise ship. Flew to a country where he won't be extradited. Etc.

But let's think for a moment how difficult something like that would be to arrange/finance at the drop of a hat. Imagine for a moment that something catastrophic happens and YOU personally have to abscond and disappear. Not just for a little while, but forever.

The first thing you're going to need is cash. A lot of it. You can't use debit/credit cards while you're on the lam, either your own or family members and other people close to you. So the first thing you need to do is get your hands on a lot of cash.

Transportation. You can't just take off in your own car or the car of a family member or friend. How are you going to travel from point A to point B? Rent a car? Charter a boat? Take a plane? For that, you need - ID.

You're going to need some form of false papers - ID, passport, birth certificate. Something. You can't rent a car, jump a plane, charter a boat without ID. And again, you're going to need cash to finance all that - unless you acquire a bank account or credit cards under your new identity.

You're also going to need contacts. It's easy to say, "Charter a boat to Cuba." But how does one do that without being detected? How would YOU personally accomplish that? You're a regular person. With a regular family. You don't have underworld or criminal contacts to even begin to help you get all that cash/ID and connection with a Cuban boat cabin that will take you to Cuba, no questions asked.

Even with 10 days prep time, where do you even start with doing all that and remaining completely undetected? Is is possible? Sure, I guess. But really think about how you, an average Joe, would accomplish this hurculean task? Even with your family helping you? All of their activities would have to be undetected, too.

It's not easy for the average person to just "disappear" forever into the sunset. And especially not for a 23 year old kid who has never been away from his mother and who has no resources/contacts whatsoever.

And even if BL did run off into that swamp, then what? He still has to overcome all the problems I've listed above. Not to mention LE and FBI BOLO's out for you everywhere. You can't be in the open moving around - renting a car, taking a bus, sleeping at a homeless shelter, hitchhikking without someone noticing you and calling it in. How long can you wander around in a swamp without adequate food, fresh water, shelter? He has to come out sooner or later, if he hasn't already.

Sorry for the wall of text, but this kid really has no options, and I highly doubt he is drinking margaritas at a villa in The Bahamas.

MOO
And yet, it's been 14 days!!!

In the sand dune TikTok, one would not be able to see the bruise (which a couple of us think we see) on Gabby's neck if she didn't have her hair tied back and it wasn't shot from behind. Same with the two fingertip sized bruises on her back.

Lots of abusers know exactly where to place their hands so that a woman can easily hide the bruises. (Been there, done that).

True. But there she is, theoretically exposing her bruises on TikTok. And if the bruises are hidden from people who see her when she's in the SLC hotel, there seems to be little reason to hide until they go away.

Yes, she's not obligated to tell the media what she told LE. If she was vague about her answers, it was probably because she's been told not to discuss any details about the case.

I think she wants answers just as much as anybody else, and was frustrated because she couldn't say much. If she had something to hide all she needed to do was refuse to be interviewed.

Yours is an important post. Many times on these threads people will post consoling thoughts such as "they are resting in the arms of the angels" and so forth. The reality is as you have stated. They had a brutal, painful death and their life has been snuffed out; their earthly remains decaying. That is the reality. Let's not pretty this up to make it easier to deal with.

Until there is a conviction, let's stick to the harsh reality.
After that, healing does begin...slowly...and perhaps resulting in being embraced in heaven and resting in peace.

But for now, let's stick to the harsh, ugly reality. I want that imprinted in the minds of the jurors.

Amateur opinion and speculation

Unfortunately, I think this is the case. People want blood & I think Cassie will be the sacrifice. I think that's wrong.

(Two wrongs don't make a right.)
I think they drew straws and CL got the short one. I think to sit through an interview with MSM without a set of questions preposed before hand is a very hard thing. It must have felt like nothing short of a deposition. I do not believe she really knew the whole of the situation... JMO.
