Can she be fired mid trial? Lol.

He has 4 attorneys and I assume that at least one is capable of taking over....if I were ZA I would request that something change.

I'm guessing the locals are very happy with the defense attorney. They want Zach off the streets and to pay for his crimes.

I know this isn't ethical but I wonder if she was assigned this case because she is not considered a good attorney.

cool Beth Karas weighing in

i think it will be brought up that she was dead and that movement JA saw could very well be "involuntary movement" and can happen right after death

This makes sense to me.

Interesting. We all know folks who could be even Summa *advertiser censored* Laude on paper, but working a courtroom and making the grades academically can be two separate things entirely. She reeks of courtroom inexperience.

This probably makes no sense but If I were her boss, After this trial, I would have her use She could use these videos and create "exactly what she should have asked" and said in every minute of this trial starting with day one.

These videos could frankly be used in law school as "a way not to handle things" and a good project for law students would to be exactly the above ----take just her courtroom words, with no discovery and re-phrase almost everything she says in "how this should be done".

:moo: In the trials that I have followed, the jury does NOT have the transcript. :cow:

Others can chime in on their opinion as to if they agree on this.

On jurys I have served on we were not given any transcripts at all.

I did not know!!! I was going to mention that I was surprised a partner had not taken over already. Hmnnn....any politics at play here on their blatant disregard for the defense? It would be all speculation, I get it. But it does beg the question "why on earth hasn't someone taken over for the defense in place of Jennifer Thompson?"

Interesting. I did not know. I wonder can they request that part of the testimony? You would think that it would absolutely be supplied at least on request in a MURDER trial.

Jurors are going to disagree on what or how something is said and I find it hard to believe that it couldn't be requested, really?? Murder trial?

I felt like how she challenged his sons death made her look real ugly. I get what she was trying to do, but I didn't like how she did it, and I think most people feel for other people(even if those people are criminals/rapist) who have lost a child no matter how the child was lost.

I agree. When the jury was out last night she was complaining about the temperature in the courtroom and how if she continued the jury may think harshly of her. This thinking apparently didn't come to mind when questioning him about his son.

Oh, it's often requested! but the judge wants them to rely on their memory as a group.

I was shocked that some courts don't even let people take notes.

" These states include Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Although only one state expressly prohibits this practice, in most jurisdictions whether members of a jury are allowed to take notes will depend upon the discretion of the judge."

supposedly on LawNewz network... I can't locate her analysis though

LawNewz is now in full swing with the launch of LNN (Law Newz Network), a live trial online video network. Inspired by my years at Court TV, we have assembled a top notch team of legal anchor/reporters who will be taking viewers through the highest profile trials live as they unfold.

They include, among others, former Court TV/CNN reporter and former prosecutor Beth Karas, Attorney and regular Fox News legal guest Heather Hansen, Attorney, Legal Commentator and LawNewz columnist Elura Nanos and attorney/reporter Aaron Keller who became best known for his work during the “Making A Murderer” trials of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey.

The cases I have served on as a juror did have transcripts and if we had questions during deliberations a request to the Judge would be made to have that testimony read back to us. I am sure it will be the same in this one. They cannot do this in the deliberation room but all must come out in the well of the court to hear the read back together.
