I just wanted to say I'm in the exact same situation as you. My son is also diagnosed with depression, anxiety and aspergers. He very well would probably write stuff just like this. Nothing is ever his fault, he is never wrong etc. he has talked of suicide. He actually was hospitalized at...
I haven't posted on here in a long time, but after reading much of this thread I wanted to say something. I read a lot of how parents can take their kids to therapy etc. but it doesn't always work like that. Not where I live anyway. As soon as my son turned 14 they allowed him to make the...
I think this will be my last post on this subject and just wanted to reply quickly to this.
I knew something wasn't right with my son from age 1. He did not get a formal diagnosis until he was in 4th grade. See what I'm saying? Some people will not see it. Or refuse to see it. My sons...
I'm not saying he had it for sure. I wouldn't know. But let me say this, dads have a tendency to say their children do not have these issues because they don't want to believe it. Dad did mention ADHD. As for how at just 10 or whatever age being diagnosed, it IS possible. If you look there...
I also agree with folks wondering why she didn't check on him. If you have a severely autistic child I would think you would check on them often. As I stated my son is not on the severe end but I am always checking on him to see what he is up to, when he's asleep, etc.
From my experience there are a few type of medications they can use for children with autism. One is abilify it is to help their temper. I was offered it for my son, but we did not use it. He's also said to have ADHD and there's lots of meds out there for that. Some which could be abused.
I'm not sure how it works in CA, but here in PA the only aid I can get for my son is Medicaid. Social security is not available because they said we made too much money...ha freaking ha! That was years and years ago, and I was not working, only my husband was.
I don't believe he was severely autistic either as the school would notice. He may have been higher functioning which they may mistake as ADHD. And if high functioning he most likely would smile etc
I don't post often but this case had my attention as my son is on the spectrum.
Kkdj, yes autism is considered a disability. My son is high functioning but they still consider it a disability for him.
I watched the video posted. Something seems off with Elaina in it. She doesn't move her arms or legs much at all. And at one point the way she was holding her you would think she would move her legs.
Hi redhead, I don't know if we have an advocate office here. But my sons old TSS (a support person) also works in our county juvenile justice office as a probation officer, she is going to come with us as she has experience with court etc dealing with minors. We are not going to a big...
Thank you everyone. Sorry about the avatar :) court called and rescheduled for April 16th. I was hoping it would be over today. For hours I felt like puking waiting for the time to come. Now we get to do it all over again.
I wish these kids would wake up and see what they are doing. My sons middle school had a play that was about bullying and that it can lead kids to suicide. My son said the kids didn't care. That right after the assembly kids were picking on others Etc. and a small update to the original...
