"Julie says she has asked her son directly if he had any involvement at all in the disappearance, he replied he knows nothing about what happened to Elaina.

Steven reportedly picked up Angela and her two children in his mother's van late at night on June 1."

So SK picked Angela and the kids up that Saturday in JK's van. There's no way he's not involved in this. SK best fess up now and tell where baby Elaina is, and what he and Angela did to her if he ever hopes to see the outside of a prison cell someday. I have no doubt he will be arrested. And I bet Angela will have more charges added. The only questions I have regarding arrests is will there be multiple arrests, or just Angela and SK when his time comes.

That's the first time I've read where Steven said he picked Angela up "with her two children" the night of June 1st (Saturday). That's a question that has been in my mind for the last two weeks as to whether Angela showed up at the King house with both children, or with only the 4 year old, that Saturday night.

The closest confirmation prior to this news article was where I read that the 4 year old said she was sleeping on the floor with her sister Elaina, which gave me hope that Angela did take both children to the King house with her.

So just thinking out loud, "if" she really had the two children with her the whole time, then whatever happened to Elaina, happened in that house. And "if" there were up to 11 people in that house that night, with at least 5 being adults present, then for nobody to hear or see anything, it sounds like baby Elaina got hold of something, a drug perhaps, pills that looked like candy, and either OD'd or they thought she OD'd.

Perhaps she was still alive and they wanted her to sleep it off, but the wrench got thrown into the whole story when the baby's father and grandfather arrived demanding to see the child.

So now, if we're to believe Steven Jr. (based on what he told his Mother), then WHO and WHY was baby Elaina taken from that home, and what condition was she in when that happened, and where is she now?

You could be right. I guess it depends on whether we believe Angela's version or not. I mean , to me, it' s a tossup , equal probability of being true or false. Half of me wants to believe her and put the lion's share of blame on SK . But I think that is the part of me that doesn't ever want to believe a parent , specifically a mom, can do that to their child even though we know it happens over and over. Until baby girl is found, I guess no one will know except Angela what really happened.

Except that as has admitted that baby e was physically harmed, dropped... in my mind that means physical abuse, not an accidental ingestion.

anyone know where the video was taken of AS w/ Elaina the day before she went missing? all i see is "an anonymous source". i just get a creepy feeling like it was all done for display.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-WcfZGJg1w&feature=youtu.be

A private residence eleven blocks from 704 Federal, near Raymer school (I think it was Raymer, it was something like that), according to the news article that said that video was their exclusive.

I believe on the newsite it said that it was taken at a house a few blocks from the address Elaina was taken from (or disappeared from), and that an anonymous family member of AS's had provided the tape

ETA sorry GG, i didn't see your post before i hit submit

It seems like everything coming out in MSM at this point is via different branches of the family trying to make their cases. (I.e., this video is supposed to show AS being a good mom.) I wish we'd hear something official from LE.

Same here. I keep telling myself that LE is trying to keep their info to themselves in order to find Elaina

I watched the video posted. Something seems off with Elaina in it. She doesn't move her arms or legs much at all. And at one point the way she was holding her you would think she would move her legs.

If you put it in fullscreen and watch it its more interesting, IMO.

She moves a lot more, you get to see hte back of her head and stuff (no injuries).. but what gets me is how they go inside, the time stamp fastforwards a minute and 50 seconds (so that's how long they were in ther), then they come out and angela sits on the porch with elaina and shifts her a bit, and then elaina reaches up with her hand and rubs hte back of her head then buries her face in Angela's chest and Angela begins to cradle and rock her, like comforting her, then Angela wipes her nose twice and picks up her cellphone.

I keep wondering if Angela dropped her while she was inside for those two minutes, and if Elaina is rubbing her head because of it and if Angela is wiping her nose because of the way a mom becomes scared/panicked/worried when their child falls or whatever....

I didn't post this before because I think that the situation would appear more obvious if this is what happened.. nonetheless I did spend about fifteen minutes repeatedly rewinding it and playing it over and over to watch Elaina reach up and rub the back of her head, bury her head in Angela's chest, and Angela wiping her own nose twice like from tears... can't quite decide how I feel about it.

Elaina's very stiff legs look to me like maybe its the result of whatever problem she had when she was born... can't decide of any other reason they'd be so stiff looking like that.

ETA: I'll say it again - this house doesn't seem like it should have a video camera pointing at it's front door. It looks rundown and not at all nice or fancy. This seems more like a paranoia-related video camera setup so someone can always see if someone (like cops) are at their doorstep. IMO.

And... WHY WAS SHE MISSING ALL THIS TIME AND YOU DIDN"T SHARE THE TAPE WITH ANYONE UNTIL JUST AFTER HER MOM WAS ARRESTED? THIS TAPE ISN"T ABOUT FINDING ELAINA ITS ABOUT DOING "DAMAGE CONTROL" FOR ANGELA.

imho.

I guess in my mind I'm not convinced that Elaina was "dropped."

Plus, Steven Jr. is a father himself, and from his Facebook photos of himself and his son (since deleted), he looks like a very attentive, proud and caring father, who would certainly have know better and be much more cautious than to allow a young 18 month old baby to be "dropped" from any distance.

So I'm thinking the "dropped the baby" excuse was something dreamed up that they knew the parents/grandparents would buy as to what happened to Elaina. But the "dropped baby story" doesn't fit into why then hide the baby or remove her from the house? IMO, whatever happened to Elaina, they did not want the emergency room to see, and report.

When I watched it, I felt like Angela was being watched when she was walking around and that she knew it.

Elaina was never put down, not shown walking, and her face was never in camera view...

I think she goes over to that house all the time (she walked right inside without knocking) so probably is fully aware that the owner has a camera setup. I'm sure she did know she was on camera. But she didn't' do anything fake or out of the ordinary.

And, JMO, the video isn't especially touching or loving or anything else, IMO... she brings up the baby stroller, gets the baby out, goes inside, comes back out, sits down, tries her cellphone a couple of times, puts the baby back in the stroller. All she is doing is carrying her and it's being taken for some loving gesture. Moms carry babies on their hips, and when they sit down once in awhile they rock them and kiss their forehead... doesn't make 'em mom of the year IMO. Not if it's this mom. IMO.

Watch it in full screen. When Angela goes inside Elaina is on her left hip, and you get a clear shot of the back of her head just fine going inside, and you get some of the side of her face at that time. Later when theyr'e sitting on the porch you see Elaina's face more than once as she's turning from side to side a bit and rubbing the back of her head.

Unless this is in fullscreen there's really no way to see anything important, IMO.

Okay, I will admit I called CSB 2 times back at the end of February to report several incidents, and again several days after AS moved into SK's house and I was able to find out the address. They told me they would "look into it" the 1st time, and the 2nd I was told they could not give me any information about what was/is found. IMO, CSB dropped the ball, b/c if they HAD investigated, especially after AS moved in with SK, I think those kids would have been pulled out of there.

Thank you for addressing this. I wasn't trying to be mean... I'm just so angry for Elaina and her sister. I know that we've wondered if CSB/CPS was ever involved. Yes, I agree that they dropped the ball. I've had an experience with CPS not properly investigating and it feels awful. I'm sorry that your concerns were ignored when you tried to be a voice for these children. And I'm even more sorry that this is the consequence. :( My prayers are with Elaina and with your family.

I don't think E is injured at all, at this point (in the video).

I do think the mother's small touches and gestures WERE noticeably loving. Perplexing.

Yeah, I won't claim to be an expert on body language (or motherhood), but she doesn't seem particularly self-conscious/aware of the camera, and her interactions with the child seem "organic". I don't see, for example, any anger or impatience in her movements with the child. She seems slightly distracted, but it doesn't stop her from hugging/rocking the kid.

If it was staged, I'm sure something more significant, or more overly affectionate, would have happened. I'm sure it's just someone's front door security camera being used in the families' current media/PR war. "Look, the child was fine and her mother wasn't being mean or doing anything wrong." Ok, that's fine for what it is, but it still doesn't tell us what happened or where she is.

I apologize if this has already been posted...

http://www.toledoblade.com/Police-Fire/2013/06/14/Mom-accused-of-not-getting-help.html

As she left the courtroom, her stepfather, Richard Schiewe, shouted, “I love you, Angela.”

“I love you too, Dad,” she cried.

After the arraignment, Mr. Schiewe said his daughter should have cooperated with police from the start.

“My daughter made a huge mistake and she’s got to pay the consequences,” he said.

Mr. Schiewe said he hopes Elaina will be found alive. But he has believed the girl is dead since Mrs. Steinfurth reported finding a freshly used diaper — the same size and brand as Elaina’s — along the banks of the Maumee River on June 6.

“She’s guilty of not taking care of that baby like she should have,” Mr. Schiewe said. “She should have taken that baby to the hospital ... ”

Mr. Schiewe said Mrs. Steinfurth told him her boyfriend, Steven King II, dropped the girl. She reportedly told her stepfather she does not know where the girl is.

“The condition of the baby and the severity of the injuries, I can’t tell ya,” Toledo police Capt. Wes Bombrys said during a news conference Thursday. “We don’t know. The location of Elaina, we still don’t know, and that’s why we say it’s still an ongoing investigation.”

The captain said the case is still a missing-person investigation and has not been reclassified as a homicide.

He declined to comment on who possibly injured the young girl.

“We’ve charged her at this point with what we believe is appropriate,” he said. “Additional charges? Possibly. May not. … Wherever our investigation leads us, we’re going to continue searching for her.”

The girl’s father, Terry Steinfurth, Jr., and paternal grandfather, Terry Steinfurth, Sr., held a news conference Thursday night at the East Toledo Family Center.

When asked about his estranged wife’s involvement, the younger Mr. Steinfurth said he did not want to speculate. “I’m not gonna bash anybody,” he said. “I feel justice is being served. She made several mistakes."
