Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

I find this statement from the local police- that a homicide team was called in right away- hard to reconcile with the fact that it didn't appear to be treated as a secure crime scene at the start of the investigation. I'm basing this based on visuals that were shared - no crime scene tape...

IMO, they weren't searching everywhere for gloves- they were focused on one particular stretch about 1 mile from NG's home. We now know they had a particular potential POI and car in their sights, which makes me wonder if they had some sort of information- video or similar- that made it more...

The self-checkout cameras are incredibly unforgiving. Another reason to never commit a crime beyond the very obvious ones... risk of those photos being released to the public...! (all IMO and just a lighthearted joke about how I look in the self-checkout cameras)

The FBI shared these photos, and specifically says they are all from the morning she went missing. Unless the FBI is being intentionally misleading, it's unlikely that they are from a different night or a dry run. They specifically state "the morning of her disappearance."

Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

I'm watching the NBC Olympics coverage, and they just broke in with a breaking news update about the person detained. One thing I found interesting- one reporter asked the other a question, and he replied back with (my paraphrasing follows) saying that they don't want to share any details that...

Yes I'm aware. The comment I was responding to asked why they couldn't get footage of NG arriving home around 9:45pm. IMO, Google was able to retrieve more footage than has been released to the public. I haven't seen anything confirming that they couldn't get any other footage from that evening.

Do we know for sure that they couldn't get that footage? IMO, there's a high likelihood they have other footage they haven't released.

OH - Spencer and Monique Tepe found shot to death at home 2 children unharmed, Columbus, 30 December 2025 *ex-husband arrested*

Early in this thread, there was a lot of discussion about why Spencer's coworkers and friends contacted 911 and went to the house so quickly- within an hour or two of when he was expected at work. There was a lot of chatter on here about how he was a dependable employee, with patients waiting...

OH - Spencer and Monique Tepe found shot to death at home 2 children unharmed, Columbus, 30 December 2025 *ex-husband arrested*

I live in another city with alleys (Chicago), and I have a motion-activated camera on my garage facing the alley. Just a few notes from my experiences with this set-up, may or may not be relevant here but sharing some factors: - If any of those cameras are motion sensing, there's no guarantee...

OH - Spencer and Monique Tepe found shot to death at home 2 children unharmed, Columbus, 30 December 2025 *ex-husband arrested*

Agreed, the context matters a lot. I've worked in very informal work environments where people came and went at all hours, and we never would have reacted that way over an hour of tardiness. I've also worked in very structured work environments, located in areas that get bad winter weather, and...

NY - UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson fatally shot in Midtown. #7 *Arrest*

He RTed and commented on an interesting blend of content on his X account. Lots of posts about the success of civilization/society (fall of Roman Empire content, etc), and some commentary on gender/gender roles (childlessness, masculinity), and psychedelics. He followed Joe Rogan, RFK Jr...

IMO... I don't think CEOs need to be actively involved with denial decisions in order to become the figurehead associated with the processes and organization. It comes with the territory of being the leader. Everything that happens at your company becomes your responsibility, even if you don't...

Adding on to this: Per their house rules, they don't accommodate anyone who lives within 75 miles. That would also include parts of NJ and CT. https://www.hostelworld.com/st/hostels/p/1850/hi-nyc-hostel/

Insight in to his schedule and habits would certainly help but even without that, it would be easy to make an educated guess. It's unlikely he'd be leaving at say, 6am. And he definitely needs to be there by 8am. I feel like the shooter was really only working with an appx 90 minute window...
