Found Deceased Michele Ann Joy Bourda, 59, British tourist, suddenly disappeared from Ofrynio beach in Kavala, Greece, 1 Aug 2025

I agree, how does one pinpoint a time that a person went missing? To do that implies you saw them just before that time and then didn't see them soon after, I don't think we have the full facts for whatever reason and sadly it won't have a happy ending JMO

Maybe this is an age thing but several posts have now mentioned "normalising the transaction" , what exactly does that mean, when did people start having to buy random items they don't need if they want to buy a bottle of wine? I'm intrigued by this concept and the thinking behind it, are 24...

It's extremely unclear reporting IMO "Under the police appeal, two friends have claimed they may have spotted Rachel - described as being 5ft 9in tall, of a slim build and with blonde hair - attempting to hitchhike hours after her last sighting" BBM from the Mail article

<modsnip - quoted post was removed (SM rumour)> I'm reading this article as saying the sighting of the person in the yellow coat was many hours later. I really can't see how it could have been her although obviously they have to follow up every possible lead...

I agree, for now I'm discounting those sightings, hitchhiking is a very unusual thing to do nowadays, especially for a lone woman JMO

I think the general assumption is that the bulge in her leggings is a phone in the pocket which seems reasonable and also maybe how she paid for the shopping as she doesnt appear to have anything in her hands in the CCTV stills.

Are you in the UK? I didn't know that we had official ID (ofd topic but it's interesting to see maiden name in relation to a man, I thought, maybe wrongly that was only for women) Id assume that whoever reported her missing would have been asked her name and would have given the name the name...

Im interested in why the shop staff might think buying wine is desperate, are you thinking she was known at the shop to have alcohol problems? My local garage is similar and I'm sure people pop there if they run out of drink during a party or gathering at all hours of the day and night . The...

Has going for a run been confirmed or is that an assumption from the way she's dressed? To me it's quite possible that's what she happened to be wearing, it's not an unusual choice of clothes given the hot weather weve been having and it's no longer light at that time so seems less likely that...

It is possible but the total silence from family and friends strongly suggests to me that they had reason to know what had happened and that no public appeals or missing social media pages were necessary Very sad for all concerned

I'm interested in why you think that when to me all the circumstances suggest suicide, do you mind expanding on that

Well done to all the searchers it's clearly been a huge effort all round. I wonder if they had some specific info or luck paid a part in finding her in such a large a

That's a rather sensationally worded headline, what is the definition of abandoned? The car looks perfectly normally parked in a small layby type space.to me

The description of the clothes doesn't suggest someone going for a run to me. Imo an experienced runner wouldnt be wearing a hoodie and jogging bottoms, theyd he wearing more technical clothing I suspect the police know her state of mind .
