Found Deceased Jenny Hall, 23, described as a keen long distance runner, vehicle located on the B2678 between Eggleston & Stanhope, County Durham, Feb 18 2025.

That seems to be in the opposite direction from where the majority of the search was directed, as indicated by the location of the vehicle.
Quite possibly, yes. ‘very remote’ might suggest west of the car and to the moorland.

Not that it matters.

There are a few of those that look to dead end. I assume they're for checking on/moving sheep.
No suspicious circumstances suggests either a suicide or accident with resulting perishing in the cold snowy weather

I feel it is a suicide sadly
I believe it was an accident. I wish people wouldn't suggest suicide, it's too early for that.

Whatever the cause her demise is very sad but everything points towards a suicide imho, the police wording into the case prior to her body being found suggests they knew it was a suicide, it was a question of just finding the body to give the family closure

Plus if she was going for a run in snow/cold she would take her phone/watch with her so she could be GPS tracked but she never

"accident" is a term used by a coroner - police have said no suspicious circumstances which indicates that whatever they found gave them strong belief that what had occurred here could easily be explained as having had no third party involvement.

they would not use this terminology if a fall had occurred in my opinion

Which police wording please?

Driving out along in Teesdale by Google Street view shows the terrain to be quite lovely. Farms with sheep and cattle, and lots of stone farmhouses and buildings along the road. Street lighting near buildings only, so a run, alone, after dark probably wouldn't be noticed, although dogs would certainly have heard her running by and maybe made a fuss. Perhaps some of the occupants noticed the dogs alerting on something that night.

It looks like the paved road ends at a farm near Meadows Edge on the map and there appears to be dirt roads that head up into the hills, above the River Tees. There appear to be numerous small water features in the hills. The highest part of the area has a google streetview hike that shows long rolling meadows near High Cup Nick. Very beautiful vista, but I cannot imagine being up there in the dark, alone.

There also appears to be an old mine in the general area.

I would prefer it was deemed an acccident, but leaving your phone and smartwatch in the car for a run in the evening up into those remote roads and hills would argue against that, in my thoughts.

It is very beautiful. It's an AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty). The moor area off the road is probably the bleakest part. I was wondering if the "very remote area" might have been Lunedale - the opposite side to Hamsterley - which is very sparsely populated and has stone circles (the search and rescue photo showed stones with the dog on the photo). But they haven't told us, so it could be anywhere really.

That entire area looks like a wonderful place to go rambling. Much more inspiring and attractive than the Hamsterly Forest where LE had reportedly been searching earlier.

Sorry I meant the photo in this news report

There are some large stone blocks at Mickle Fell that could correspond to that search dog photo.

However, that area appears to be something like a restricted military firing practice range and according to AllTrails, is closed at certain times.

My business uses Warcop ranges which are huge. Various roads and access points will be closed depending on what's going on over the various ranges on any particular day.

It's a lovely area but very bleak and desolate at times.

<modsnip - not an approved source> She was clearly a very fit, active, outdoorsy person. So maybe it was just an accident.
Doesn’t add up to me, she was an experienced outdoors person, runner, etc, yet she left her phone and smartwatch behind, while there was snow on the ground, feels to me she loved the outdoors so much that she wanted to die there/die with her boots on so to speak
