Sigh! I'm at my breaking point already with the defense and their tactics I'm sure this will tick off the jurors to no end..im this close to jumping ship on this case

I hear you and I'm with you! The DT is playing desperation. The poor jury! Has to be disgusted by this latest event.I'm wondering what this will do for travis ! They have jobs and lives. They don't live in Mesa?

No, no, no..I can't deal with another two weeks of Wilmott questioning another psychologist. 1 day Juan cross, then another week of Wilmott re-direct or whatever it's called. 1/2 day juror questions and Juan responding, then another 3 days Wilmott going over the juror questions. Let's say 1-2 days Jodi migraine somewhere in there. That's a whole month right there, folks.

Makes me want to be all...screamy, and yelly..n shouty...

I watched a movie called "The Blue-Eyed Butcher" this weekend - it's a true story based on the Susan Wright case where she murdered her husband.

Wow, the similarities to the Jodi Arias trial are amazing . . . the "abuse", the "self-defense", the "PTSD", the "Battered Woman's Syndrome", the "fog", and the multiple stab wounds.

I just want to say for the record that we don't get HLN in Australia, I am however guilty of going to see Tot Mom, a play by Steven Soderbergh, at Sydney Theatre Company. I think most of us here are able to separate media hype from reality and often criticise the likes who wish to sensationalise murder for entertainment.

I sure hope so; but if you ever heard some of NG's numerous phone-ins, who fawn all over her and hang on her every word, you'd begin to wonder...

I have been watching JM's cross of JA... so enjoying her being grilled and thinking she is so superior and has every answer. Particularly interesting is Day 25 part 3 of 3 - JM asks her all about the photos, the attack, the blood, her fog. JM is SO GOOD!
She does admit those are her socks in the dragging photo, btw.

Agree! If you look at Day 23 part 2 of 3, you will notice JA being noticeably uncomfortable when JM brought up the topics of Mimi Hall and Cancun trip.

I know...I really wouldn't care about them getting a surrebuttal if it could be a two, three day thing. What's so frustrating is that you know it will be 3X as long as rebuttal.

I cannot remember if or when a motion was filed concerning Walmart. I just recall reading somewhere about the DT filing a motion concerning the shelf company. If she were to do a demonstration of her closet shelf climbing, in the courtroom, it would show the jury, first-hand, how climbing on those shelves......... not a wise choice.

Remain calm friends. It was certain they would ask for a surrebuttal, even if just to lay a record for appeal. After their two witnesses were so thoroughly discredited, it would be nearly malpractice not to try to ask for it.

In this case, ALV filed NO REPORT.
I saw in the court case file that JM had to file a motion to ask the judge to have the defense adhere to the AZ discovery rules, as they gave him only her very REDACTED notes. The judge did so order, and JM wound up with her notes which he used at trial to impeach her. If anything SHE deviated from her own notes and changed things she had written down on MAJOR facts such as
Jodi said she shot Travis in the closet
Jodi told her she caught Travis watching the kiddy on the computer

Alyce changing her testimony from yesterday again? now the knife was not on nightstand as she said Jodi told her– seriously? why is it her notes have no clarity today but had clarity when she testified to Martinez?

The only really bad things about Travis Alexander that we have learned, are things that JA and her defense team have told us.

I don't think so. Just one to make sure they get whatever records they produce to the State.

Also, I should have said in response to the poster asking about the shelving motions, orders typically are in minute entry form and ARE available on the internet in the minute entries section of the docket page. So if there was a ruling on any motion and it wasn't sealed it will more than likely appear there. It's only pleadings filed by the parties that you can't see on-line.

Surrebuttal really doesn't worry me. I think the truth has been presented and I doubt the DT could do anything that will affect that. I really don't like the lesser charges....too much wiggle room there to suit me.
It's been such an unbelievable day here. My last client actually asked me to call her when I got home to let her know I got here safely. One client was rushed to the ER in heart block, another fell down a flight of stairs. Got any theories? For me its another example of the defense putting out bad testimony and/or witnesses just to put out something, anything.

No logical strategy seems to have gone into their defense. Crime of passion? Nope. Let's come up with an implausible tale of unsubstantiated abuse! Whoops, now we gotta find someone who can twist text messages into an abuser capable of killing someone for a dropped camera. Hey, let's get his ex-girlfriends to talk about how horrible he was...um, Lisa said she was immature and overreacting? Uh oh.

Many of their own witnesses have at least begrudgingly admitted they never saw Travis be abusive so what were they thinking?

.i think the judge is letting this trial go on to long,i think the defense will get what they want and lesser charge included ..they seem to do what they want and get away with it. i have watched all the major trials on tv .i have never seen so many side bars and attys. laughing ,what you see in persons eyeball. to much about about travis every single bad word or name he called her.it makes it seem like he was like that all the time. and she gets to portray herself any way she wants....isnt she the one who did the murder,wasnt travis in his shower, in his own house. i think she will get the lesser charge,and i have to put most blame on judge. sorry venting...defense already had there shot at doctors, they had dr. d report.how many doctors have to examine her. time wasted ,money wasted.a life wasted. i have a feeling she will get away with this..if dr carr already did a report where jodi lied to her why cant that be brought in? anything that shows jodi as a lier ,or a bad crazy person even her own parents interviews cant come in unless parents testify where they would say they didnt mean it or someway explain it.

I wonder if ALV and RG know this man? We had to pay him $3,000 for a worthless social study and had to send our grand daughter that we raised for nine years to live with her abuser because she'd matured and changed. So much for court ordered supervised visitation.


I hate this sob..he's made a lot of money off of those that are ordered to "face their abusers and need to get over it".

I don't get why the defense would even dispute BPD anyway. It's a gift in a way. Borderline's a lot more treatable than other PDs, they experience emotion on a much further ranging scale than some other PDs, and they're not typically known to be overtly violent towards others. Undoubtedly, many even often have a childhood history of abuse that may have led to the disorder itself.

Seems totally spinnable to me...unlike psychopathy, my dx.

I sure as heck wouldn't put another "expert" on the stand for Juan to cross-examine! :twocents:

Look at this Dr. qualification. I think Jodi's family is throwing itself under the bus on child abuse/family violence etc. He's going to tell us how that affected Jodi and her brain and how she reacted to Travis's "body slam". It's going to be the same except Jodi "snapped" through no fault of her own, so where's the gun and knife in this new revelation?

I just don't see "snapping" with the defendant's version of events.

Travis allegedly was the one who "snapped". He chased her, he "body slammed" her.

She ran, found a gun, and was in a defensive posture, hoping Travis would stop, when he lunged and she shot him.

There's no snapping by her in that version. So what story are the DT going to come up with to sustain this ridiculous claim?

Travis was already incapacitated. There was no more reason to "snap". And there certainly no reason to kill him 3x. That's not an argument; that's murder one!
