Won't we have to wait until the new juror questions are gone through by the attys before they read them in court to the defendant?

I heard that the jury was putting more questions into the box yesterday as she was speaking. Maybe they're vetting those.

An astute poster on the previous thread wondered why she would take the time to "memorialize" her beloved Travis t-shirt and shorts on the day she intended to kill herself and wouldn't be around to remember.

IF she intended to kill herself, why didn't she just turn the gun on herself?

Greetings! :seeya:

I have been stalking this forum for about a week now and I have to say y'all are very entertaining!

I started following this trial by accident, I was curious so I clicked on a link to the live feed. I entered in the middle of Juan Martinez's cross examination, the testimony was x-rated and to be honest I felt sorry for Jodi. I thought Matinez was being mean just to be mean. But like a train wreck you see coming I couldn't stop watching.

Now here I am a week later and all I can say is :what:

The longer she is on the stand the crazier she appears. This women is seriously scary! Now I think Martinez was too easy on her. What possessed the defense to have her testify? Are they hoping the jury will come to the conclusion that she is in fact insane and not give her the death penalty?

I wish I have never clicked on that link! I've seen things that can't be unseen and heard things that can't be unheard, I've lost sleep and have gotten zero done in the last week! And I will never be able to look at a tootsie roll in the same way again.

Will there be a twelve step program for those of us who have become obsessed when this trial is all over?

I'm off to find the live feed again...

JA has this ease and an air of nonchalance when testifying. There is absolutely no hint of the seriousness of her crime or her fate in her speech tones, affect or body language. She speaks with a rush of words that suggests she is manic.

Obviously she has no insight into the emotionality that normally attends such discussions. Her testimony and all her bizarre hand movements occur as if she is having a Saturday AM talk with her next door neighbor. Perhaps she regards the jury as her bosom buddies who believe every word uttered from her mouth. She does not readjust her testimony strategy – for her it is full steam ahead.

We know JA is not mentally ill ie suffering from schizophrenia or manic delusions. We know she exemplifies an extreme case of a personality disorder characterized by narcissism. We know she represents a species of psychopathy.
Her behavior over the past several days implies she is probably delusional - ie delusions of grandeur.
She undoubtedly believes her lies are very clever and plausible. My hunch is that if some anointed one came along with whom JA would confide JA would proudly boast how convincingly she BS s here way through this trial. She would describe her various poses including the “battered waif”, the “sobbing martyr”, “ the “sex slave”, the “obedient Mormon”, and the “helpful law abiding citizen”. For her this trial is really an interesting contest that she thinks she can handily win – like the Prison American Idol contest.

She has prepared and vetted the JA “official explanation line” since 2010 and has all facets of this story perfectly memorized. She strongly believes that she is able to convincingly connect all the dots in this case. She has carefully prepared all the elements of “battered woman syndrome”, and TA as “sexual deviant”. She thinks her explanations of all the “seeming” premeditation have been batted down. She is HOPEFUL that her “perception” of TA yelling “kill you *****” coupled with the “I was in MORTAL FEAR” clears up her NEED to use force in the service of self-defense. The over-kill aspect is to be completely avoided due to her abrupt and complete LOSS OF MEMORY.

Consequently she is very pleased with herself and her performance. In the same vein I do not think she is UNAWARE that she is lying. I do not think she is delusional in so far as she TRULY believes her stories.
She is simply a cunning audacious psychopath who is self absorbed , who loves theatrics and who loves duping the unsuspecting.

I totally agree with your astute observation and break-down of her demeanor.

But I hope someone is preparing Jodi because her world is about to get rocked off its foundation when the verdict is read and she's sentenced to death.

I don't think she thinks that's remotely possible. When she said 'no jury will convict me' (or whatever) she really meant that. She is so self-absorbed in her self-importance that she is literally a danger to anyone who crosses her the wrong way. And her psycho-babble alone is terrorizing.

I can't see anyone harboring the slightest ounce of sympathy for her. It's almost humanly impossible.
Her personality is transparent, her motives are crystallized and her lies are insulting!

I don't think Ja's problem with Cancun has anything to do with the book on 1000 places... there just was no way in hell-o that Travis was going to show up in Cancun with another female. jmo

5. Hypothetically speaking, suppose a person driving a rental car left Yreka going 65 miles per hour and a person flying on a plane left Tokyo, Japan going 625 miles per hour at the same time. Both individuals were headed to Mesa, AZ to slaughter an ex-boyfriend. Which premeditated murderer would arrive in Mesa first?

:great: Would love to see her attempt this math!!! :great:

I'd like to see a question like this; After you shot TA you went into a fog. When you woke up you must have been wearing clothes covered in blood, what did you do with them, and how did you keep from getting blood on the drivers seat?

I keep struggling with this, although it might be leftover psychological debris following the debacle of both OJ and CA.

Do you think 12 will be able to deliver the DP? I have this nagging feeling because of her gender she might escape the needle? :sigh:

Me too .. I'm hoping the false pedophilia accusations will push male jurors who would have otherwise spared her over the line towards DP when they would have voted LWOP otherwise ..

No offense in any way, but I don't feel that emotionally attached to Travis. That is not to say I don't want to see justice served or feel emphathy for his family and friends, but I'm more enthralled with what makes this woman tick and her choice to ruin her life over this man. The case study if you will, of a female sociopath that committed such a stupid crime!!

It's always fascinated me too,the mind of a person who would give up their own life to get either revenge or financial gain.I just can't fathom a situation whereI could or would consider that, guess I value my freedom too much.I really think Jodi's satisfaction is that no other woman will ever have Travis,he will always be hers now.Of course now,she would like her freedom back.Too late.

I've never witnessed an execution, but if the convicted are asked if they wish to make one last statement as the syringes are loaded, God help us. It's gonna take a while.

Id be pretty satisfied if they cut her off mid sentence :floorlaugh:

Juror question (I wish!)

Yes or No. In your interview you said: "if I did this, I would beg for the death penalty" Is this your idea of begging?

welcome Elleth! :cheer:

I don't see Jodi's siblings there very often seems it is usually her Aunt and Mom.

I am mortified that I typed "Jodi" when I meant Travis. I've since edited the original post. Good gawd, I would never want to hug anything or anyone associated with Jodi Arias. Perhaps Arias' brain scramble fognesia is contagious.

I wear socks most of the time during the winter (with winter shoes, loafers, boots, etc.). Black, brown, navy, grey, some Argyles, too.

I've had a problem with the socks since the beginning. This is a legitimate question. How many women here wear plain black high socks? Or, black socks at all. I have a couple pairs but they have zebra striped and pink cow spots on them. :blushing:

My socks: 90% black & navy, 10% other colors, 0% white.

I hate white socks.

I'd also like jurors to ask her how come her "friends" are all guys.

She has no personality. Her only endearing quality to men is that she is so easy. Once the novelty of that wears off, she is completely boring.. once Travis had explored all he wanted to he realized he couldn't STAND her.
She is a leech.
