Anyone else find it interesting a kid was not suspended for bringing a large flat head screwdriver to school?
It wasn't the names that were trademarked. It was two slogans with his name in them. It seems to me that his name would be protected via defamation/slander/libel laws, would it not?

There is NO article or information at that link.....
These suspension stories are like Pinocchio nose's they keep getting bigger by the minute MOO
I think that Trayvon's mother said it best tonight.
If the 17yr old in question had been the City Managers child, or the Mayor's child, or the child of a Police Department Officer, what kind of investigation would they want done? Would they be content to simply accept the account of the man who shot their child and say Oh okay, so sorry and move along?
Would Zimmerman have been arrested in those circumstances, would he have been drug tested, would they have collected his clothes, and talked to the girlfriend, and then answered the parents questions with a thorough and comprehensive investigation that let them know exactly how and why their child died?
I think they just want the same treatment for their child that this same incident would have gotten if it had been any average middle class white child, and I do not blame them. I don't care what the rules are, but the rules HAVE to be the same for everyone without exception.
Martin's girlfriend had said in a recording obtained exclusively by ABC News that she heard Martin ask Zimmerman "why are your following me, and then the man asked, what are you doing around here." She then heard a scuffle break out and the line went dead.

Well he had a bunch of jewelry that wasn't his as well. In that context 2+2=4. They should have called local police imo.

School police impounded the jewelry and sent photos of the items to detectives at Miami-Dade police for further investigation.
Okay, let's not start taking things out of context. The information that has gotten out about Trayvon was NOT a part of any public record. The city manager specifically said that a person in the police department released this information without approval. None of the info pertained to Zimmerman, so no, there has been no leak in that regard.
Don't try to twist this, Zimmerman's troubles were a part of the public record. His charges were not expunged too well, if they were so easily accessible on google. I think you know exactly what I mean by the leak---911 calls were not leaked they were released with AUTHORIZATION. That's the big difference.
I'm thinking the reason we can still see his (expunged) record is because he has domestic violence charges against him and a restraining order (I believe). They only expunge after a set number of years if you have had no future charges against you. This, I believe, is why that record still shows up. jmo
I wonder how on Earth she would know what would happen in other situations? They want revenge before they even know all the facts, it seems.

That is not true. You have to be without charges for a certain amount of time since the initial charge you want expunged, to be eligible for it to get expunged. What you do after you have it expunged is entirely irrelevant to it remaining that way.
The sources have said it was expunged. You don't even start the expungement process until after a certain amount of time where you have to stay out of trouble. Because sources say it was expunged, this is what it seems happened. Now, apparently with an expunged record, it shows up in LEO databases, but only what he was charged with and that it's expunged. The actual files are not available without a court order saying to unseal them.Right. And we can still see the record because he did, in fact, get into trouble. jmo
