Oh, really. Do you have a link for the apology? Because I don't see it on their website or on Twitter. Thanks.

You don't know when Zimmerman exited his car or why. His attorney said it will all be made clear. Assuming he left his vehicle at a certain time for a certain reason is conjecture. Only an unsourced person has stated that he claimed it was to read a street sign, and that hasn't been repeated from anyone linked to the investigation since.Where the body was found is NOT conjecture, and the time of the calls is NOT conjecture, and the time that the police arrived and found the body is NOT conjecture, so the task is to figure out some way that Zimmerman could have STOPPED following TM and still be in the area where the body was found if his call to dispatch was at 7:09 and the Police arrived to find Treyvon dead at 7:17
I haven't been able to do it but maybe someone else can, I am willing to entertain any suggestions that make sense short of Scotty beaming him in to the crime scene.
He told LE TM was running towards the back gate which is not true based on where his body was found. GZ says they always get away (reportedly through the back gate). GZ first tells LE TM is headed in his direction, comin to check me out, he said....then he claims TM is running towards the back gate. It was raining so how many people run to avoid getting wet from the rain???? But GZ is telling them TM is running, headed for the back gate when that is not where TM ended up. To get to where his body is TM had to be running parallel to the back gate not towards it.

I don't think a walk like that is very far for a 17 year old, heck i walked alot farther to school than that every day, and even still i walk more than that with my dog etc.....jmo, but i'm wondering why this is important. He was 17 years old, they usually walk alot.
I'm arguing that activists have turned this into a "Hang Zimmerman" issue, instead of a "Get to the bottom of this" issue.
I've thought a lot about this too. I wonder if Tray "walked fast" up the cut-through, then hung a right on the sidewalk that runs between the backyards of the two rows of condos. Meantime, GZ is moving down Twin Trees, then cuts over between buildings to intercept TM. Confrontation starts there, then moves back up the sidewalk towards the sidewalk "T," ending in MC's backyard.
That's all speculation, and like everyone else here, I just don't know what happened in the last seconds of TM's life.
I do know that this all makes me sick and sad at heart. I don't like seeing our posters pitted against one another. I don't like reading about bounty calls placed on anyone's head. I don't like having to wait until all the documents are released. I don't like what happened to Trayvon, and I don't like what's happening to Zimmerman.
And that is all MOO, and I will step down off my soapbox now.

That's great. It's actually an apology to Media Matters readers and the Martin family, not Drudge or anyone else. They apologized for using the fake photo. JMO.
An arrest is made on probable cause that a crime occurred. The Florida statute prevents police from arresting someone based on the use of force alone, when it is a self-defense case. There has to be probable cause to believe that the use of force was unlawful. In other words, they have to show probable cause that a crime occurred, and not that the force was used in self defense.
When his side of the story was released, the mother characterized it as "demonizing" her son. What bothers me is after SPD hearing that there is a price on GZ's head nothing has been released to support GZ's story. You would think LE would at least do that for him, or a report from the doctor who examined GZ afterwards. Nothing, absolutely nothing???

That's not probable cause by itself. A person can still kill someone with their hands. All that is required to act in self defense with deadly force is the reasonable fear of peril of death or great bodily harm. Of course, there are other stipulations like you can't be the aggressor.if the victim of the use of deadly force was unarmed there is probable cause
let the courts decide whether or not it was self defense
BBMDon't hold water, sorry, Well before the shooting, he calls dispatch, and during the course of that convo, is told "You don't need to do that" Is he following Treyvon, or is he in his car? If in his car when did he get out....evidence of him breathing hard and dispatch saying "Are you following him?" and him saying "Yeah" would indicate that he is no longer in his car at this time. He knows what dispatch said because he says OK...Could he possibly be far enough away from his car at that point to only get to where Treyvon was shot (going BACK to the car) when that happens? I don't think so.
If he is only getting out of the car when he admits to following, then when he said OK he was barely on the sidewalk and could easily have gotten back to his car.
no matter how much you want to call it conjecture, there is no way to make it fit that he was going back to his car IF he did not continue to follow Treyvon.
We have that pesky 911 call which is timestamped and those pesky phone records and other calls, and darn it the police arrival time is marked as well...
Again, we really do not know. There is one minute approx. that nobody knows for sure what happened. After being off the phone with the dispatcher, he could have started running/walking again and we do not know in which direction GZ was going. We only have his version as to what happened.

(3) A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.
