LOL Do you live in North Florida, too?

So IMO lots that is not known but certainly speculated and assumed
What do you think his intent was for following TM??? There was no car for him to escape in, he was alone, why follow him when LE was on the way??? jmo
George Zimmerman called 911 as he was following Trayvon and said, "We've had some break-ins in the neighborhood, and there's this real suspicious guy. ... This guy looks like he's up to no good or he's on drugs or something. It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about."
LE arriving on the scene is not going to shoot anyone. They will put you at gunpoint - especially if the "gun holder" puts his hands up - or even lays it on the ground. The second you see LE on scene lay it on the ground in front of you. LE will draw and order you to drop it - they aren't just going to shoot.
By re-holstering it - it was now out of sight and that could be more dangerous in that situation. What if he hadn't told LE about the gun and when LE was patting him down found it? Could be a very dangerous situation.
Put the gun on the ground between your feet - unless people are very close to you - no one is going to try to grab it and, in this situation, I don't think anyone else was going to draw a gun and fire at you.
Besides we're talking a matter of seconds here. gz hung up with 911 - 7:15; gf's call disconnected 7:16; LE arrived on scene 7:17.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/04/02/justice/florida-teen-shooting/index.htmlHe cited software that is widely used in Europe and has become recently accepted in the United States that examines characteristics like pitch and the space between spoken words to analyze voices. Using it, he found a 48% likelihood the voice is Zimmerman's. At least 60% is necessary to feel confident two samples are from the same source, he told CNN on Monday -- meaning it's unlikely it was Zimmerman who can be heard yelling.
The experts, both of whom said they have testified in cases involving audio analysis, stressed they cannot say who was screaming.
Why would a witness lie at that time, though? It's not like they gave that statement after the family started raising Cain over it. It's not like they gave the statement after the station was threatened with DOJ oversight. It was taken by reporters the morning after the shooting.
It's not like two women who try to inject themselves into the media after three weeks. JMO

Of course toxicology tests have been done on TM. His body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy!!! As for the suggestion that toxicology tests may have been done on GZ -- are you suggesting that blood was drawn from him that night?
And if I went to the store yesterday with $25 and bought $5 worth of candy and tea, I'm still only going to have $20 in my pocket the next day... Along with some candy and tea, potentially.
Question for anyone with the unabridged version of the 911 call from GZ about supsicious male:
Does GZ give his name and or his title at the beginning of the call? What I am asking is, did dispatch and responding officers already know who they were dealing at the time of that call? Did he announce his title as NWC during the call?
Trying to anticipate if it could be argued that GZ was not acting in the role of NWC at the time of the confrontation but rather as a private citizen as someone suggested a few days back.
BBM I call bullc*ap on that statement. I have worked in schools for over 25 years, as a teacher and an administrator, suspension is a punishment for actions, it is not "for the safety of the school". You are trying to make it look like since Trayvon was suspended from school he was a threat to the school and that is just morally WRONG! jmo, imo and all that jazz

Why would it be dangerous if you told LE that you have a holstered weapon in your waistband? It's worked for many, many other people that have had to shoot in self-defense before. As long as you're up front about it, the police can remove it with their own hands and everyone remains safe. It's when you start grabbing for things that the trigger fingers get itchy. What about two women who recount what they witnessed in the media after three weeks because the police ignored their repeated calls - calls pointing out errors in their recorded statements?
BBM Correct. There is much speculation that GZ had no tox screen after the shooting. Some find that troublesome or telling. I do not have any opinion on that as I honestly do not know if it is SOP to test someone who has shot someone or if it is some indication of coverup or not.
We have very few actual incontrovertible facts.
A TM is dead
B GZ shot him
C TM was unarmed and in an area he was authorized to be
D TM was followed by GZ
E Some sort of confrontation occurred
IMO Pretty much everything else is up for debate or speculation as we have zero factual material to work with, in part because the investigation done and evidence collected that night APPEAR shoddy to many viewing from the outside of the investigation.
So our options are to debate, speculate and opine or pack up this thread and call it a day.

Perhaps I was just pointing out that having $22 in your pocket doesn't mean you spent ~$3 at a store that day.I find it hard to believe that a kid is going to be walking around with a can of warm Arizona Tea for any length of time. I'm not sure where you're going with this, unless it's to claim that he wasn't on his way back from the 7-11? Why would that even be an issue?
Perhaps the point is to try and make it seem like he really was up to no good, scoping out the neighborhood for nefarious purposes. But with a big can of iced tea in hand?
