well if thats the case, then this law really, really sucks. lol!
IMO, the law needs to be revised. However, in regards to this case, it is what it is.

Sanford, Fla March 28, 2012 -- The City of Sanford kindly requests that members of the media
refrain from approaching, phoning or emailing city employees when they are in their roles as
private citizens. It has come to light that there have been a few incidents where city staff were
followed and approached at their home or in settings outside of working hours.
Law enforcement officials will not hesitate to make an arrest for stalking.

IMO, the politicians are doing a lot of back and fill. They wrote and signed bad legislation that is allowing people to get away with murder. IMO, of course they are going to say it doesn't apply but if you read about the tragic cases of others who have used this defense successfully, it becomes clear that they created a law that they are trying now trying to back away from. Cases like TM's must be taken into account and the law must be either revised or repealed, or there will continue to be more such tragedies.
JMO, OMO, and :moo:
Well they are not to me. At school, Trayvon was somewhere he was not supposed to be and he was concealing himself from view. That's objective behavior on which to base suspicions. Zimmerman's own account on the non-emergency line gives no objective reason to be suspicious of Trayvon. I find nothing suspicious in walking back to his father's fiance's townhouse and looking around and he gave no reason for saying that he's on drugs or something and later emphasizing that by saying "yes, he's messed up."
I have a question maybe someone here can help me with. Is there a way to tell if tm died instantly through his autopsy?? tia if anyone can answer this.

No. It's not just Zimmerman's word. There were witnesses who saw the altercation.
I think all the 911 callers pretty much establish that physical altercation took place.
I had read once that no one dies "instantly" except people who are in a scenario like a nuclear attack or another type of event that causes the body to be completely fragmented.
Even people who are beheaded don't die instantly, horribly enough.
As I understand it, they can look at the wound and see how long he could sustain life with a wound like that.
The car was being driving by someone who was not disobeying any laws.
Zimmerman will get his chance to prove his claim of self-defense. That is all that alot of have been asking for. Trayvon's parents and supporters have simply wanted Zimmerman to go to court and prove his claim and for a judge and/or jury to decide. That will happen now and IMO should have happened at the beginnning. If Zimmerman can prove his claim, great. If he can not then that needs to come out as well.

GZ if he did indeed fear for his life and felt shooting was justified, why would he feel remorse? JMO If I had to kill someone to save myself not sure I would feel remorse, I would just be glad to be alive. If TM came at him and if they did struggle over the gun if he did not shoot he might have been the one killed.JMO
I wondered if since there was no arrest in this case, where would the evidence come from for GZ complaints of abuse. Yesterday I learned there will be evidence from the autopsy of Trayvon (thank you again AZ) I'm very happy to learn there will be evidence from the autopsy of Trayvon. I plan to do some research on the SYG law, it's very interesting, as is this case. If it does go to trial I sure hope it does not take three years.
I think if there is certain damage they will be able to tell. Bleeding at the scene, bleeding internally might be factors too in making that determination.
This "altercation" could have been GZ pulling his gun on Trayvon, Trayvon reacting, by possibly trying to grab his arm (struggle for gun), and then TM being shot.
TM's cries for help could have been exactly for that reason. He may have been holding GZ's arm and trying NOT to get shot (while screaming for help).
It's the prosecution who will have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman's claims of self-defense are false.
However, as was discussed and shown earlier, a defense of self defense is called an affirmative defense. The defination of such a defense is:
A defense in which the defendant introduces evidence, which, if found to be credible, will negate criminal or civil liability, even if it is proven that the defendant committed the alleged acts. Self-defense, entrapment, insanity, and necessity are some examples of affirmative defenses. See, e.g. Beach v. Ocwen Fed. Bank, 523 U.S. 410 (1998).
This is from Cornell University of Law
http://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/affirmative_defense
So.....for the SYG immunity hearing, it is on the defense to prove SYG. In an actual trial, while the burden of proof is with the prosecutor, to put on an affirmative defense such as self defense, evidence will have to be presented by the defense to support it.
Many use the word proof, or prove it to indicate evidence presented.
