Isn't that true of most political figures who have looked the other way because of political influence and pressure put on them. Is that the case here? We don't know but I bet we are about to find out.

So after 27 years Mr. Wolfinger is not seeking reelection. The irony is rich. jmo
Yes, and any time someone says they are quitting to "spend more time with the family" that is code for "I've ruined my career" or "I'm in trouble deep." JMOO

It can't possibly be that he's 66 and thinks this might just be a good time to get out and spend time with his family.

I agree - frankly I'm shocked that they blocked his resignation. :maddening:

But now I think we know why he hasn't resigned before now. He has protectors in high places, and they are stupid enough to think they can still convince people he is some kind of hero. How's that working for them so far? Good luck convincing the world. They had a chance today to save some of Sanford's reputation, but they messed it up again. JMOO

About Chief Bill Lee:

http://www.clickorlando.com/news/Sa...s-resignation/-/1637132/11643760/-/gm7yuvz/-/

Two of the commissioners that voted against the agreement, Commissioner Patty Mahany and Commissioner Randy Jones, spoke highly of Lee in a heated debate.

Mahany said she wouldn't accept the agreement because it was "hastily put together" and said she wasn't notified of the special meeting until 11:30 a.m. Monday. Mahany said she was devastated by the treatment of Lee, calling him one of "the finest police officers" in the community.

"This is a man who is a medal of valor winner," Mahany said. "I am physically sick over these proceedings and treatment of Chief Lee. What did the chief do wrong?"

Mahany said that both Lee and other commissioners are also enduring allegations of being racists.

"He’s paying for the sins of past police chiefs," Mahany said. "We are a great city with a great police department. We can't do this to a 52-year-old man with 30 years law enforcement experience with a family with little children. We can't do it."
I will say that mahany wasnt the only one therein support of the chief. That whole room was there in support. MAhany even asked the supporters to quiet down their enthusiasm, by putting her finger to her mouth in a quiet down type of motion. all my opinion from what i saw watchingthe meeting

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't chief Lee along with Wolfinger make the decision not to charge GZ ?

Yes from what we've been told. Remember the supposed 3 a.m. meeting where Wolfinger drove quite a distance to attend? There is so much going on in Sanford and we've only scratched the surface. For Lee and Wolfinger to jeopardize both of their careers, there is a whole lot more than what we know. If we can find out the answers to this, everything else will make sense.

No, 'cause we just had it happen here- a 40 year old female County Supervisor resign "to spend more time with her son". Of course, she had a front-page affair with a drug-addict, blamed her politician husband for supplying her with drugs, and then claimed her e-mail was hacked!!!

So because it's true in one instance means it's true in all instances? There's a 26 year difference in those individuals.

They knew he was going to the store to get snacks for his little bro. Then he never comes back nor calls. Then what? They assume he went to the movies, without telling them or asking them or bringing his brother the snacks?

I expect few parents would first assume murder.

So it wasn't wrong in failing to do a drug and alcohol test on GZ that night? It wasn't wrong when phone records show it was their number that called TM's phone 5 days afterwards?

Is it fact that they didn't ?

It can't possibly be that he's 66 and thinks this might just be a good time to get out and spend time with his family.

So 66 is the magic age? Why not at 67? Or 65? Or 83?

I think most people would find the timing of his resignation and the chief's offered resignation a little bit weird...

Of course not. But I am saying that LE made their assumptions, and Trayvons family made theirs. Both were very wrong, in hindsight.

LE makes assumptions based upon their everyday experiences. They jump to conclusions falsely sometimes. But I have a tremendous amount of respect for them and the dangerous job they do.

And I don't agree with her. So, there we are.

Yes, I knew what she was saying. That's never stopped it from happening before.

its that nasty accountability thing again. Why is it that no one wants to be held responsible for the things they do or say anymore. Its always someone elses fault. all imo

LE had an unidentified dead child in their custody. No comparison.

Another one bites the dust...:seeya:

--i wonder if he shared this "decision (that he didn't just make recently) or was it his 'secret decision'.

State Attorney Says He Will Not Seek Re-election

Wolfinger said he made the decision not to run again early in this current term and he's happy to spend more time with his family and grandchildren. He said he intends to enjoy each and every day left in his term.

So the police, not finding any id on the victim, should assume he lived there?
You are blaming LE for not knowing where Trayvons dads girlfriend lived?

They did talk to all of the witnesses and none of them recognized Trayvon. He had no housekeys or IDentification.

Since he was just a child, why didnt anyone know where he was? You cannot claim he was just a child and then ignore the implications that presents, imo.

So the opposite must be true---why did they assume he DIDN'T live there?

Thanks ! I think chief Lee knows he's going down anyway and wants to get out now before the other shoe drops. Maybe the reason they rejected his resignation is because he's making them all look bad, and their jobs are also on the line too? :waitasec: JMO

I regress to a topic from yesterday because I wasn't signed in to comment on it then. It really looks to me like the jackets in the bloody head photo & the police video are different. I took screen shot of the video where the two are shown side by side.

http://bit.ly/GZHead

Unfortunately, most versions of this bloody photo are zoomed in more, showing collar only; and, this fuller one is obstructed by the ABC banner. Still, it couldn't be any clearer, the way my eyes see it, that bloody head jacket does not have the black stripe across the back. I also have another lightened version, I'll post later, that does show he has cell in right hand & the lower sleeve is black, where at P.D. lower sleeve is red. Apologize if everyone is done with this already. I didn't see the full thread, just happened upon the links to the videos & found this to be very interesting.

If true they are different, it doesn't mean he changed jackets within the 1/2 hour, but more likely that the bloody photo staged (many other reasons it seems to be). Yes, date/time/GPS metadata in photos CAN be edited.

If I were already thinking about settling down as I'm getting towards my 70's, I think an incident such as this would make that decision a ton easier for me. I don't think many people stay on that long, as it stands.

It also appears there are a few others that decided to step aside (and notice their ages):

http://www.floridatoday.com/article...rio-longtime-justice-officials?nclick_check=1

The "timing" has little to do with anything other than the deadline for registration to run.

I am not sure either but it certainly rankles. He is accused of a crime, unlike a good portion of the State of Florida who are NOT accused of a crime, and I am sure that some of them can point to what they consider to be a credible threat to them but they will not get round the clock police protection, they will get police services if they call the police.

So because he is charged with a criminal act which has outraged and angered a LOT of people he will be given round the clock police protection??? How does that seem fair to all of those who have NOT been charged with a criminal act, but still may need protection and won't get it unless they call?

Once again IMO JMHO and stuff.

When the state allowed the Zimmerman family to testify by phone because they were afraid to come to the courthouse I thought about abused women who are forced to come to court to get a protection from abuse order even though their abusers are also notified of the hearing. And I thought about witnesses in criminal cases who are threatened or people who have been threatened by violent criminals who have not yet been apprehended. Very rarely does the state provide any protection. Most people just get a "we'll send patrols by your place more often." It's not that I think the Zimmerman's shouldn't be protected, it's that I know resources are limited and I wish more people had access to protection, not just those in high profile cases. IMO

IMO there was NO way, that if Tracy and Brandy returned home between 10:30-11p.m. that they could have missed all of the red and blue lights flashing, and the headlights from the emergency vehicles/police cars. They would have shown even in between the buildings. That part has a little hink on it. JMO-IMHO-MOO n' stuff
Even if they spotted them, doesn't mean they assumed it was Trayvon and that there had been a shooting, they thought Trayvon was either at home watching TV, or went to a movie. No reason to presume that it's your son, and he's been shot dead...
