Sorry if this was already posted but, seriously????

http://abcnews.go.com/US/george-zimmerman-leaves-jail-back-hiding/story?id=16192324#.T5XDNJOqmh1

He said that Zimmerman will require "somebody who can help protect him" and said he will ask the state to pay for the protection.

O'Mara said Zimmerman's family is "hoping to get some assistance from the outside because it's going to be a very expensive proposition" to handle living expenses as well as the cost of security and legal fees.

I don't think he's been diagnosed.

I remember hearing that but not who said it. Was it FT?

If I had to guess, I'd say yes. It may have been JO or one of his relatives. I know it was reported though...

Zimmerman, 28, first enrolled at the college in 2003 and was working toward a vocational certificate to become an insurance agent. He re-enrolled in 2009 and was working toward an Associate in Arts degree in a general studies program, according to the college.

Stephanie [neighbor of Zimmerman's parents] also recalled a party in early December to celebrate Mr. Zimmerman’s graduation from Seminole State College (though he still needed a few more credits to receive his associate’s degree). He shared his hope to be a judge someday with a small gathering that included two black teenagers whom, she was later told by Mrs. Zimmerman, George was mentoring.

BBM. General studies? What happened to Law Enforcement?? Pre Law (he wants to be a judge, if not a cop)??? Hmmm... Would love to hear from some of his friends at school. Oh, but GZ doesn't seem to have any (real) friends (IMO).

You can't get an AA and still be in the same college pursuing a bachelors degree?

Community colleges don't usually offer Bachelor's degrees...in my experience at least...:moo::twocents:

I believe they just rejected his resignation?

Well that explains it.

I doubt there has been an official diagnosis.

I've said it on other threads- I am Neighborhood Watch, there is NO on duty, where I live, there are NO shifts. If you see or hear something suspicious, you call it in, no matter what the hour. That's where it ends, you don't carry a weapon- I don't own a gun and never will, and you don't follow. You leave it up to LE, period!

This is exactly how our NW works too and I have never ever heard of a NW where people are on shifts and carry guns never ever! The whole GZ paroling with a gun seems really really bazaar to me!

JMO, but to me it's someone looking for trouble!

yup they did. and that room busted out in applause when they voted not to accept his resignation

  • #372
I believe they just rejected his resignation?

So does that mean they're going to fire him or they want him to stay on?

  • #373
I think the civilian clothing part probably was a good decision. The defense apparently argued that it endangers GZ's right to fair trial if he's widely seen in prison garb. I don't know... how could anybody else get a free trial wearing prison stuff then...?

But I think it's good that it was granted. It's one less thing for the defense to whine about in motions.

I have to say that I don't think the justice in the US is in good hands if juries make their decisions based on this logic: "prison garb-guilty, civilian suit-not guilty".

I think it means they want him to stay on.

Well, one jury I know made the decision based on the defense attorney saying hello in the morning and the prosecution not saying hello, so anything is possible, even if it defies logic.

I believ he is staying on and being paid, as well as the acting chief, until an investigation is completed into his actions

Wow...HLN showing social media statements of people threatening or insinuating that they will kill GZ. Wow, just wow.

Why is this on the news, and why are people so stupid?! Geez...

OK let's wait for a link on the Chief. Remember back up your opinions with links. Thanks Belle for the news.
