So it's o'key to just fire "blind?" Perfectly legal, apparently, since they are not being charged with anything. That girl was hiding in a bush (or so we are told), not fighting or threatening anyone.

Would it have been different if Summer had tried to protect herself against these men with guns?

ETA: We also have to remember that these men didn't know if these teens had weapons? They were commiting a crime. So actually, they were threatening the property.

I'm still trying to catch up but I've seen a lot of posts about GZ possibly fleeing due to the funds he has.

I think a lot of people are forgetting he has a GPS ankle monitor. Makes fleeing difficult.

While at the police station he has a gray shirt and his coat on. The pic someone took of his head he had on the coat. WTH is going on ?

I really don't know because that is what I've heard. How could GZ fedex a package from jail with checks in them? IMO checks would have had to be signed on the back for MOM to deposit them. Just curious how GZ did that when he was in jail. Wasn't GZ already in custody when MOM was hired??? jmo

I personally don't think O'Mara is a liar. I think he obfuscates. I think he is so sharp, and quick-thinking that his mind moves ten times faster than his mouth can speak. He is always thinking, you can almost literally see the 'wheels turning'. He is mostly on overdrive.

I also think that he lives an extremely chaotic professional life. I have heard him now at least five times talking about how unbelievably busy he is with all his work on all his cases. He lets us know how important and how busy he is. So, that's fine. I just think he needs to give some real close attention to what is really going on with George and his family.

Would love to know because unless that was him there was a doppleganger there that night...and he was in fact wearing a white t shirt in that clip and no jacket. IMO JMHO and stuff.

I think the evidence for involuntary manslaughter is there already, no questions asked. GZ followed someone, while he was armed, and he verbally confronted him at the very least, setting forth the death of Trayvon. So imo, even if TM had taken a shot at GZ, or shoved him, or gone for the gun, it was still GZ who put this horrible tragedy into motion, imo.

I do not believe GZ wanted to shoot anyone that night or set up the killing with the 911 call, or was looking for an innocent kid to kill, not at all. I think it was the perfect tragic storm.

BBM: that's my point, Katy. The missing elements you list are indicators of 1ST DEGREE murder, not 2nd degree. I need to check the Florida statutes again, but 2nd degree doesn't require intent. In most states, it requires "malice" (or some equivalent concept) which is a degree of recklessness, not an attitude (as it is in popular usage). IIRC, Florida calls it a "depraved mind", but that has nothing to do with depravity in the popular sense nor with malice of forethought.

If GZ used his gun without regard for the consequences (and not in SYG or self-defense), then that could well meet the Florida standard for 2nd degree. To make it manslaughter, I think (IANAL) the jury will have to conclude there was a mitigating level of provocation. And perhaps they will do so.

Yes, it was Zimmerman standing next to the police car with his hands cuffed behind his back and he did have a white shirt on. No doubt about it whatsoever.

Yes ! they keep showing it over and over, I've seen it at least 6 times now. I thought in the beginning that LE let him change, but was assured that LE wouldn't or couldn't let that happen ! This whole case stinks to high heaven !

He was a 17 yr. old kid and I have yet to meet a perfect one. Doesn't in anyway mean he deserved to die, however the truth is fair game for discussion and not to be considered bashing.

There is a clear gang mentality forming. CUT IT OUT NOW. This is not an Pro-Trayvon cheerleading forum where all other opinions and facts are to be dismissed. I see so many people with their feet firmly planted and responding to those with whom they disagree with a complete lack of tolerance or respect. I am done with that kind of stuff. Done.

We are about TRUTH & JUSTICE. Sometimes facts will come forward that may not support your theory. That is the way almost every case followed here works. Open your minds and deal with it. Otherwise you appear hardheaded and close-minded.


Guys, I am dead serious about all these alerts. There are literally hundreds every day in every inbox of every moderator here. It is completely out of control. Mods welcome alerts on posts that violate TOS and rules - e.g., posting donation sites, personal attacks, identifying minors, sleuthing non-players, etc... But the vast majority of alerts we are getting are on simple differences of opinion. The alert feature is usually a mod's best friend but it is being abused badly in this case. There will be TOs forthcoming for those that continue to try to steer the discussion by alerting the mere differences of opinion here.

I saw it as well, grrrrrr I wish they weren't so quick to show his grad picture right on top of it.

He is cuffed behind his back in the police station in the red jacket. He is also in the red jacket when the photo of his head was taken. I have no clue what it is JVM showing but it doesn't fit.
