But if they hadn't taken her to the infirmary, she wouldn't have seen the TV coverage and there would have been no bad reaction.

Imo...if the prison's policy of informing inmates of serious news is to bring them to an area such as the infirmary (as they did) and there happens to be a TV (normally there) which just so happens to be on to the breaking news of the day (which it was) then, why would that sound staged?

There would be no reason to set the scene when a prison officer escorting the inmate is obviously going to be required to observe a prisoner regardless (which Uncer did).

Sounds to me like the system was following protocol and the results were what they were and nothing more.

Seems there are "conflicting reports" (are you surprised?)

Casey Anthony told of Caylee ID shortly before public was told

Officials at the Orange County Jail said a chaplain broke the news to Casey Anthony that her daughter's remains had been identified Friday.

"Inmate Casey Anthony is aware of the developments in her case," said Orange County Jail spokesman Allen Moore. "She was notified by a jail chaplain as is consistent with our policy. The notification came at approximately 1:45 p.m."

my comment is refering to when just the body was found...not when it was ID :)

but she did see the news....and had NO reaction to it....they didnt hide the news from her....she was able to watch it....

again....I see where you are coming from....:)

bolded by me above...
which time are you speaking of? She did not see the news regarding Blanchard Park. The second time.. they specifically took her to see the news.

Either way, I believe they only took her to see the news the second time because we all knew it was Caylee.

Two different events. Casey was taken to the infirmary on Dec 11th, when the remains were found. The chaplain informed Casey on Dec 18th that the remains had been positively identified as being Caylee.

Actually, they took her to the infirmary to inform her of a serious event, where the news was breaking on that TV just like it was all over the country...

I didn't read the article carefully.

I should go outdoors. It's 60 in upstate NY in March. I live across the street from an ice cream shop (I KNOW!!)
Everyone's walking around eating ice cream.

Again, it was not the same protocol the prison used when LP made his find. Additionally, if the officer KNEW that Casey was being taken to the infirmary because she was about to hear bad news, why not shut the TV off? Why let her hear it that way?

This relates to Dec 19th when she was told it was Caylee. This DOES follow SOP. I must agree with Chilly, that a prison employee should not have the designation to TAKE AN INMATE to watch TV regarding their case.

How should it been handled??? When the REMAINS were discovered. A prison official and her attorney should have been together to let her know of the finding of the remains. I bet she would have had a different reaction in front of Jose and the WARDEN.

I will have to find a link to back up what I said....its been awhile though...so It will take time...but I remember hearing or reading that she did see the LP dive on the news and just stood up and walked back to her cell with no reaction...when they came and got her .....I believe it was when LP group pulled up a bag/with bones and toys in it.....so they thought....:)

I really don't think it matters whether she reacted one time an not the prior.

What matters is she reacted when "unidentified" remains were located at a location in close proximity to her home and old stomping grounds...that really says it all, doesn't it?

Ummm, did I miss something? LP found unidentified human remains at JBP?

Big difference if he didn't.

To turn the TV off would be interfering, imo.

You and Chilly are both right - it seems cruel to me.

Cruel was when a mother murders her child and then dumps her in a pet cemetary/dumping grounds...

The jail did not use the same 'protocol' when LP found the bag of rocks during his media event at Blanchard Park. Instead of taking Casey to the infirmary to watch the news, they led her away from the TV and put her back in her cell.

I have never heard that she was "led" away.
I thought she stood up and walked away because that was her choice. Naturally she would need a guard escort to return to her cell.

Sure will - now I have an excuse for a double . . . off to chocolateland

maybe to get to the truth....seems mean.....but what happend to Caylee was mean.....doesnt seem fair.....but Caylee's death wasnt fair....KC put her self in this situation.....for not telling the truth to begin with....Jail, Prison...they are not nice places to be.....you are not suppose to be comfy there....

again....I see what you are saying :)....I guess I dont see anything wrong with the way it happend....

Could you please give me a link to where they took her to the infirmary first to notify her of a serious event, then she watched the news then she had a reaction??

I am looking at the link that CHILLY posted above.. It states "A prison EMPLOYEE took her to watch the news." SPECIFICALLY.

I agree. Her reaction speaks volumes.. but it doesn't mean a thing if it can't be shown in court. I still think we would have seen a different reaction if the Warden and Jose told her the news.

I'm truly not concerned with with Casey's feelings, but I do see merit in this complaint by Baez. It does appear to me that the entire thing was staged in order to capture Casey's reaction on video. The difference between the way the jail handled the Blanchard Park search and the Suburban find shows that they do not have a standard protocol when breaking bad news.
