The officer said they took her to see the TV, could this be something that could keep this out of court ?
If she had said we took her down to see mental health, as per procedure when someone has something like this happen, it would be better for the state. When I heard her say "we took her to see the TV"...I got worried.I think this might be trouble. JB certainly was angry about the video tape, and I think he alluded to KC being taken to be observed deliberately and how inappropriate he felt that was. My question would be: who made the decision to do it this way? The Jail admin? Was it solely for the purpose of having Casey see mental health?
All facilities differ, but IF this officer was escorting KC to the infirmary for medical reasons prior to her viewing the coverage of the remains being found, it's possible that the officer had her inmate file which the officer may have had permission to read - thus knowing personal medical information/history regarding KC that is priviledged under privacy laws. Or the officer may have had information regarding her medical history because she was on her way to the infirmary....heck I'm just grabbin' straws here. Personally, if they need this evidence to convict, their case isn't very strong against her. Let's hope this is a red herring.
I was thinking that they told her about finding remains and she then asked for medication, thus the trip to the medical area ?
Better for the State if word had already come in (before it hit the media) and they were moving her to the medical area as a precaution (without telling her why.) Then, she might have seen it on the tv while passing through the common area, which is filmed constantly anyway, and the tapes caught her reaction at that time.
Lt. Tammy Uncer would then have seen the reaction in the normal course of escorting KC from one area to another, and the tapes would have been running regardless, as they've already reported they do in the common areas.
That would be a more defensible position for the jail that could not be misconstrued as 'spying' for the State.
I agree, much better if the move was for a reason and they can back that up. I remember the atty for the jail, county, saying that they always take inmates to medical when a loved one has passed or other tragic circumstances. If they can prove that it was SOP and not specific to THIS situation I think it may be admissable.
This part has me befuddled:
"Local 6 News has confirmed that Uncer was the corrections employee who escorted Anthony from her cell and observed her reaction to the news, which she watched on TV in the common area. Anthony also asked for a sedative to calm her down, Local 6 News has learned."

Why did they take her from her cell? Why not wait and let Baez or a family member inform her of the find rather than take her to the common area to watch the TV coverage? It's not the prison's job to inform her.
I have never heard that she was "led" away.
I thought she stood up and walked away because that was her choice. Naturally she would need a guard escort to return to her cell.
From the link provided by "tracey276" it states:
'Local 6 News has confirmed that Uncer was the corrections employee who escorted Anthony from her cell and observed her reaction to the news, which she watched on TV in the common area. Anthony also asked for a sedative to calm her down, Local 6 News has learned.'
No where does that state that she was taken by a prison employee to specifically watch the news...I didn't see any other link from Chilly that says otherwise.
Also, a "common area" that the inmate was taken to sounds like an area to wait till she can be taken in to be seen...like a clinic waiting room. It would not be out of the ordinary for a TV to be on in that kind of environment.
I understand the theory here...but, I'm just not buying it.
Maybe I don't understand why anyone would expect a prison guard to escort an inmate to an area she's been instructed to do and then notice that breaking news is playing on the TV in the common area and reach up and turn the channel...
It's not about wanting KC to be treated cruelly...imo.
Except that you are presuming that a prison guard deliberately brought KC to watch breaking news in a common area and that this prison guard was instructed to do so...where is the proof?

She knows shes being recorded so HIPPA is not an issueI agree. The representative for the jail did indeed state that they had followed standard policy and procedure. I also believe it may be admissible if it does not conflict with any HIPPA laws.

anyone else pick up on how kc started rubbing her hands together? ..like in court?
We had quite a discussion about whether or not Casey was SPECIFICALLY TAKEN to watch the news coverage of the remains being found.
THE ANSWER IS: YES, SHE WAS. Tammy Uncer said she was taken to watch the news coverage and her reaction was monitored for 10 minutes when mental health staff said "That is enough."
Notes on Tammy's audio interview released on April 6th.
There was quite a bit of discussion on this board earlier as to whether or not Casey "happened" to just see the tv in medical or if they TOOK her there on purpose to view the news.
THE ANSWER IS:
They took her there to see the news and to purposely get a reaction. Below are notes I took during the interview.
Interview with Lt Tammy Uncer 3:42 pm Corrections Center
11:35 we took her down to medical to view the TV to see what was happening prior to her attorney getting her. Mental health staff was waiting for her to observe her to see if she would need services. Looked at TV breaking. Collapsed into chair. Shallow breathing, sweating hands, wanted cuffs loose as she felt they were getting tight. Red blotchy breakouts. She did not cry, did not look at tv but a couple of times. Audio was on. She could hear the TV and the location of the remains. This went on for 10 minutes. Mental health said then that was enough. Mental health staff asked how she was doing. Mental health did not want to discuss case. Made sure she would not hurt herself. At 12:45 she asked for a sedative. First time she asked if she could have any types of meds in jail. She asked if attorney is coming. Asked Tammy to stay in the room with her. Talking very fast, said it was all surreal and she could not break down. Then began to talk about the Football Championships. She did break down and cry with Jose Baez. Did ask for tissues, he took very little notes. There for 45 minutes before he took notes.
Demeanor after she left with attorney, she was shaking. They did clean out cell. Asked to take a shower to make herself feel better. Took a 10 min shower. Only see top of her head. Did appear to be calmer after shower. Mental health came back and spoke her at Caseys request. She had been crying.
Very weird to talk to her. Non-emotional when talking. But first time she seen her be emotional and cry.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35)
(quoted from article)
Robert Guthrie, an attorney for Orange County, said there was no "conspiracy" to record Casey Anthony's reaction, but that it was routine procedure to give an inmate access to counseling in the medical clinic when faced with bad news.
Lady Macbeth.
I was thinking about this too. I don't know what the law is with inmates, but I really am tired of how things operate in this country, and how this could be kept out of court when IMO it shows her guilt - PLAINLY and CLEARLY for all to see.
I know, I know - innocent until proven guilty, right?
Can't help my feelings. This case always seems to invoke the rage in me.
KC's RIGHTS?????
What about Caylee's right to live???!!!!!!!!!!! UGH. I need a self-invoked time out.
