George is clearly trying to distance himself from the gas cans and playing with when he cuts his grass. However, by his own statement he cuts his grass every 7 to 10 days.
I always thought that George and Cindy only put down pavers. I must of missed that they actually poured a 4 inch slab of concrete. Page 203
I think that is really weird too. Ashton caught him in that little bit of b.s. he tried to wiggle his way out.
For one thing, nobody that lives in FL in the summer thinks you cut your grass once a week. When the rain starts in June, it's like twice a week. You can hear it growing. A good rain and it's ready in two or three days. I'd guess since Caylee used to play outside a lot, GA would have kept it short. To keep snakes more visible if nothing else.
GA insists he did not put the duct tape on the can, and that there was no duct tape when KC brought it back. He also admits he locked the can back in the shed and nobody touched it until August 1 when LE came to take it. Ashton asks him if he needed to fill up the gas can (since he admits it was empty when returned by KC) and he says he needed to - and in fact reluctantly admits to mowing his lawn a few times - but still insists he would not have been the one to put the tape on because it wasn't done NEATLY enough.
In my mind, he is either accusing LE of putting it on (because nobody broke into the shed) or saying a ghost did it. If LE had to try to process the tape on that can, and lifted it up to see the underside, I can see why it might not be exactly in the same place. But I just don't get GA making a big deal out of it, especially when CA doesn't bother with that story.
LA says that KC and GA are more alike emotionally and behavior-wise. If that's the case, then it may be because when they lie, they just dig in and refuse to admit things. But KC also got her elaborate story-telling tendencies from her mom and her attitude that "lying isn't a crime" (even if you do it during an LE investigation apparently).
AL is gonna have a field day with mitigating circumstances here. It's obvious this whole family doesn't value the truth and thinks nothing of making foolish claims to cover up. I can only imagine the homework excuses KC took to school. I'm sure they were the laugh of the faculty lounge.
I also thought that was strange about the concrete as well. Was it the early Greta interview where they mentioned that? I can't remember the exact source.
