2009.08.05 State Deposition of George Anthony

the only good thing about all the lies they keep telling over and over again

all it does is give LAW ENFORCEMENT more of an incentive to JAM it down all of their throats

in the name of justice for Caylee.

I haven't gotten to the end of George's depo..and I haven't read this entire thread (I did read most of it..but my gosh it takes a long time to get through everything--lawyers must be speed-readers!)

What I wanted to point out was the section of the deposition where George says the CA "made it clear that Casey and Caylee would always have a home with her". HMMM. Implication being that George is definitely under Casey and Caylee in the hierarchy. He states that Cindy is the breadwinner (translation - Cindy runs the ENTIRE show to the point that if he argues one least little bit about Casey's responsibilities he could be OUT). Wow. I know we have discussed ad nauseum how castrated George is --but I honestly didn't figure to what extent. His manhood is reduced to how squared up and neat his duct tape would be on his gas can!

A heartfelt message from me to George!:
George, I know you are trying desperately to hang on to the last vestiges of your pride, but can't you see that if you were to become totally slovenly, grow a beard, live in your car and tell the truth that you would be respected (something that for years you have been completely unfamiliar with in your own home!?) Susan Smith's and Jeffrey Dahmer's parents ACCEPTED the truth. You can too! There is still time!

I thought it was interesting that he said:

“Well I can tell you one thing. Whenever we leave our house, we did not leave things like that on our washer and dryer. We always put stuff away.

And, the dryer. We don't leave stuff out like that.”

Totally convinced that never, ever would anyone in the household ever leave the house without putting away everything. No chance that anything would EVER be left on the washer/dryer.

Would have been more believable if he said, "We typically don't leave things out."

And, even though this is in CA's depo, it pertains to GA ...

She says that GA is in charge of the car maintenance and cleaning - it's his "thing" because he owned a car dealership.

He loves cleaning cars so much that, according to CA, whenever they have overnight guests, GA will clean their car for them.

I can understand doing that for those in your household, but to run outside and wash a visitor's car seems a little offensive to me. Of course, I wouldn't mind having someone do mine for me but I would find it odd if I were visiting and they washed my car for me.

The following should receive the award for the biggest understatement of the year:

"I ended up calling my son, and I said: . . . Casey is sort of in trouble. We got the car."

GA depo, pg. 232 line 15

Yup ... "sort of"

I read GA's depo really late @ nite and by the time I got to the part about the washer/dryer & stuff on them, I could not determine why it was brought up.

What did I miss? Thoughts?

TIA!!

These people must have to bite their tongues until they bleed to avoid asking a natural question..."So, honey, is the father happy? Who is he?"

That or they are the LEAST curious people I have ever heard of!!!

Maybe they subscribe to the theory "Don't ask, don't tell" in micro form.

That GA has obsessive/compulsive disorder? Only kidding.

I didn't get this either - he was insistent about the tape on the gas can and the stuff left on the washer and dryer but never offered an alternative for whodunit/how they got there, etc.

Evidently, he was shown an evidence photo taken by LE in the garage and there was a towel and/or rug on the washer or dryer and that was his response when LE asked him if that was an accurate photo of his garage.

Thanks, CuriousTwo & WoeBeGone for responding so quickly!!

I guess I'm trying to figure out the significance of GA being shown the photos...the SA seems to have good reasons to show him photos so it must be related to something that they know.

And that's what I wanna know. LOL

ETA: WBG, I read your response again....sounds like you're saying GA just went off on another one of his unnecessary tangents.

Makes one wonder how he didn't know where his grandchild was but he knew what was on top of their washer and dryer?????? :banghead: Dayum... Lapse in the thought process there.

I think it would be satisfying for us to know how many times the despicable GA said in his deposition, "I can't remember," "I don't remember," I can't specifically remember" "I don't specifically remember" and those same phrases using the word "recall" instead of "remember."

I've tried to do it myself, but evidently my version of Adobe is too basic to allow me to do a search or to convert it to a Word document that I could search.

This is the man who claims to have loved Caylee! I grew incensed reading his depo watching him evade LE's questions with his "I don't recall" or "specifically recall." I refuse to let this cretin think he got away with his "clever" evasions.

I know--this case is pushing me over the edge. :blowkiss:
Just look at the end of the depos, there is a complete word count there.....now I'm curious and gonna have a look.

(Respectfully snipped)

Each time I hear from him, I find this man increasingly disgusting and disgraceful. So many of his comments shocked me in this depo, but the worst was when he was referring to his new job around July 15th. "Great Company - I lost a great job because of this". WTF!!

In contrast, the more I hear from the DA's, the more on-the-ball I realise this team is.

He really does seem clueless as to the severity of the situation - almost as if he is dense or something.

Another poster mentioned that he may have Alzheimers but I think what he suffers from is selective amnesia.

It's as if something is right in front of him but he is insisting he can't see it even though everyone else in the room can.
I'm going to whisper this; I almost found myself feeling sorry for him at times - maybe CA's been knocking him on the head repeatedly or something. :banghead:

The only thing I can think of is that someone had come in to clean the house and after washing the rug/towels left them out on the washer/dryer.

CA and GA were in California when Caylee's remains were found. Mallory was tending to the dogs. It could be as simple as the dogs made a few mistakes and that Mallory used towels and washed the rug, etc.

They said the picture was representing the garage scene on Dec. 11, 2008 which was the day the remains were found.

Could LE be suggesting that the house was subjected to a thorough cleaning for an underhanded reason? I don't know.

Just finished reading and the brain is mush, but i thought the line of questioning about the FREEZER in the garage, and what they used it for was really inbteresting.

And the framework being set for the patio!!! They also asked about shovels. Very interesting indeed.

Wow. I just finished reading all of GA depo. Wow.

One point that really struck me was the gas can and tape. It seemed when G realized he screwed up he got angry with the questioner..'don't try to confuse me!'.

It is basic math GA!...
GA got the gas cans back on June 24. LE came and took them on Aug 1. In over that month-long span of time did GA cut his lawn or not!? Considering he stated he cut his lawn at least every week or 10 days, it is a safe bet he did in fact cut the lawn, but he just wouldn't say it.

GA is trying to think ahead of the questioner (being ex-LE he should have more insight into how questioning works...well you'd think so anyway) I was in court once (wasn't a criminal case, it was for a company I worked for) anyway, the one piece of advice the lawyer gave me was...NEVER try to figure out where the questioner is going with his questions, just answer the question asked.
The only other thing he told me- it's easy, just tell the truth.

It's true about trying to get ahead of the questioner and screwing up, I did it when I was up on the stand, and it did trip me up, (and I had plenty of time to participate in being questioned- I was on the stand for a full 5 or so days- being grilled by a company lawyer no less)

A couple of times, once I realized where the questioning was actually going I started to backtrack in my head to make sure my statements were accurate. And I was telling the truth! GA must be having a heck of a time keeping all this stuff straight when so many lies are weaved in.

He doesn't know if he cut his grass, but he was positive he didn't put that tape on the can "there is no way I would of put that tape on the can like that"... "thats just not me, I would have put the tape on neatly..." He couldn't admit to cutting the lawn cause he would have needed the gas can, and if he did, he would have put the tape there or noticed it there, if there is a match to that tape and the tape found with Caylee he was pre-emptively trying to add some confusion to who used the tape on the can. (like his old stand-by's JG, AL or AH...LOLOL)

About the garage photo GA was shown and asked about: I wonder if what they were getting at was this:

Prior to the comments about the towel and stuff on the washing machine, he was asked about the other things on the shelf above, in real detail. Isn't that where the laundry bag CA was found in usually kept?

GA (trying to think ahead of where the line of questioning is going again) fixates on the fact that he would never leave the mess, if he knows exactly where everything is and how neat things should look....why didn't he notice the missing laundry bag?

Just a thought.

Ok on to the next depo LA, I think I'll save CA till last. lol.

What gets me is all the accusations thrown around about Casey's bf's and gf's true or not they were Casey's friends. Why is Casey the angel that had nothing to do with Caylee's disappearance however her friends with nefarious backgrounds may?

*snipped to point*

Yes it was...and I do believe that's what the whole line of questioning on that photo was about.

That was the image George says he had of her .One of the first interviews shown of George was when he was telling us that Casey was such a good girl, she didn't drink, always came home early, didn't party. Then the photos hit the newspapers....
