I really agree with that. Superficiality is the perfect word.
I doubt they have any reason to put her on the stand. She doesn't help the case in any way. She just helps understand that she fits in well with that family. Maybe the defense would have a reason since she seems to be a spokeshole for the Anthony family but I don't think the state would care to attack what she has stated in depo at trial. It's irrelevant.
I think she has sacrificed logic and concern for a baby merely in order to keep a man. I have often wondered about her own parents. If she was my kid, I would be horrified and would do everything I could to keep her away from this family.
This is pure madness! There would be a lot of crying and screaming at my house in such a case. No way would there be a congratulatory dinner celebrating her return. These people are insane.
Think of all the cases we see of horrifically distraught parents and grandparents begging for their missing loved one, begging for info, unable to sleep, eat, breathe, and then watching their panic morph into a grim grief that never fades and a determined resolve to fight for an eternity to bring their babies home. Think of how these people never smile again and keep their sad lights on in the window, or sleep in the doorway of the police demanding answers. Then, think of such a family having a happy dinner and light conversation on the first day that the only one who holds the key to their loved one's disappearance, is there in the flesh to give the information needed to find their child:
I will never understand.
