2010.02.16 Document Release: Stain on Trunk Liner

Yep, I agree the rounded side is near the passenger seats. The JWG/BJB image of Caylee is lying with the back toward the straight side, not the rounded side.

Hi AZ!!

Is the straight edge toward the opening of the trunk?

Hi AZ!!

HERE IS A PIC OF A PONTIAC SUNFIRE TRUNK. STRAIGHT EDGE AT BOTTOM. NOT CASEY'S CAR!!! JUST AN EXAMPLE. :)

I've been reading this thread with great interest. I looked at the photos here http://www.wftv.com/slideshow/news/22578565/detail.html and this is what I saw in #7.

I did enhance the photo and sharpened it. Probably my eyes playing tricks.

Way too small. Look at the hole for wheel well.

Ever spill something on an area rug. You clean the top and it looks fine but when you turn it over the stain is still there. So I'm still wondering if this impression/stain was from the back of the carpeting on the trunk wheel well.

Yes.

That hole is the hole in the middle of the spare tire cover, so it is teeny-tiny, and so is that part of the stain that's highlighted in pic #7.

No, this stain is on top of the carpeting. There are photos taken in daylight where you can see the ruler and parts of the stain in the same places as on the enhanced photos.

The photos of the back of the spare tire cover show stains, as well, but they are in completely different places.

Here are your pictures, top and bottom of the wheel cover. I do see a stain, however, I can't make out a shape.
Just looks like a big stain that someone poured a cleaner of some sort directly on the stain to saturate it, I say this because I see a whiteish stain towards the edge of the original stain. There also appears to be some rust colored "markings" on the directions :waitasec:

I flipped the images to how the piece would have fit into the trunk liner

If you flop the top carpet #1 pic right down over onto the picture below it of the particle board underside #2 pic, it is possible that that large round stain could have been caused by leaking out of the tops of the plastic bags if the laundry bag were lying on it's side. Just a thought.

"So which way is the body lying?" "Face down!" "Face to the side!"

"Hmm, maybe if we had an image of the face..." "Maybe this is the face?" "I see it face down." "I see it face to the side."

Lol. Not that it's a funny topic, but the past few pages gave me a chuckle. Dark humor I suppose. And while I laughed, it is great that so many people care and want the truth.

However - I'm about ready to offer KC unlimited beef jerky snacks for life (shouldn't be too costly, if you know what I mean :innocent:) if she would just tell us what happened.

After reading the other posts I now tend to think she was laying face down. I guess I really was seeing kitties in my photoshop version of the image. Maybe we'll get some insight Wednesday when they discuss the stain. I'll be tuned in that's for sure.

Snipped from pip's post.

Good thought but it looks like that stain was spilled toward the back of the car and spread toward the decomp stain. I'm still amazed that Caylee was laying at the opening to the trunk. GA, what did you see when KC opened the trunk to get the gas cans?

I don't think GA saw Caylee in the trunk. At 2.6 days Caylee's body would have been gone by the 19th. I would think that the last day the neighbor saw KC backed into the garage was the day KC disposed of Caylee's body. If the body had been in the trunk for more than a week we would have seen fluid stains throughout the whole trunk area not just on one side. In a trunk in the hot Florida June sun a small child's body would decompose rather quickly.

Forensic experts have determined that the body was in the car 2.6 days which would have been on the day of the 19th if Caylee died on the 16th. Gas sometimes masks the smell of other things. I think KC kept the gas cans because she was trying to overpower the smell in the trunk. jmo

FWIW~

I was thinking that if all of us did this:

Pretend you are standing at the the back of ICA car. The trunk is open. You are looking straight in it. From this view, the driver's side is on the left, the passenger on the right. Maybe if we are all viewing it in this way, we can figure it out a bit easier? :)

I was thinking more about the stain and smell since it was right there at the opening to the trunk. I haven't ever smelled a decomposing body but as a nurse I did smell decaying flesh on a living person. I can tell you that gas would not mask that smell. Sorry to be so graphic.

I was wondering if it has been definitely established by experts that CA's body was definitely in this trunk and if these stains are definitely from her. I just started following this case recently and do not know all the facts or what is speculation. tia

So if you are looking in the trunk, her head would have been on the left.trunk11.png

OMG now this looks like her head but I thought it was on the other piece of trunk linertrunk111.png.

For the life of me, I cannot see anything but two white images. I don't know how you are making out a head.

WW posted a visual and outline of the stain and it was incredible that you can see her arm and hand and even her thumb and nail, but other than that photo I can't tell a thing -

IMO given the chewed aspect of Q104, it did not come off Caylee's wrists until her arms were separated by animal activity.

But, but but, in WW's outling of the body on the stain (incredible) there is no tape on Caylee's hand it is free and on the side that is lying against the rug. I don't see any tape at all.
