Kim, I don't think you could mistake this van for being gray.
I've heard others refer to Chelsea saying the van was Misty's, but I assumed they were just mistaken. She absolutely calls this, Misty's van! Why would she say this? Doesn't she know who she borrowed the dang van from? If they can't keep it straight in their head who they borrowed a thing as big as a van from, they probably can't remember what happened to Haleigh. Is Chelsea lying to this reporter? If Timmy didn't bring this van over to Ronald's house that night, and Joe is innocent as well, then that only leaves Misty doing it. I'm sure she had a key.
I feel this is important enough to start a new thread, but we have so many going right now, I can't keep up. I just want to know who's van it is, and why the story keeps changing? Misty isn't the only one in this family that can't keep a story straight!

Interesting! I wonder if Misty drove it often before Haleigh went missing and then didn't anymore, so they called it "Misty's van"? Boy, that would sure be interesting. But it is purely a theory at this point!

The rumor at the beginning about the van belonging to misty was again due to a reporter. Matt Saffer interviewed Chelsea upon the return of the van from FDLE (don't ask why they didn't put Lindsey on camera), however; the video was edited poorly and it appeared Chelsea had said that misty was inquiring "Don't tell me that you didn't put the scratch on my van"..*clip*...if you watch closely you can see the edit. Her story was snipped at the wrong spot when she mentioned Linsey (snipped). Very poor reporting/editing. We have had this same stuff throughout. The same thing happened with the PDM report where the journalist inserted her own thought and paraphrasing about ron being a Crane Operator along with PDM quotes.

We have to be English majors, grammer specialist, plus, be aware that the media edits, cuts and borrows their facts and stories from other media also.....sheeesh! They have told me they cannot verify what they report because LE will not verify when they call and ask....period. Thus the reason we see the occassional pressor by LE and starving reporters.

Hang around crime forums long and start communicating with the reporters and you will eventually find out they borrow and interpret and embelish (within limits) their reports. It is frustrating and is a real good reason not to take the newspaper reports as facts IF they don't directly TELL their source (which can then be verified)..So much work for us!!

Ron must have been really messed up at work with all those phone calls being made. If he could make 90 calls and his boss not notice then he could have gone home or done anything because he sure couldn't work. If his boss got wind of what he was doing, he would have been reprimanded, at the least, he was still on probation

He makes all those calls and has no idea where misty is, works OT...stops at a store. His cell is ringing in his car; he doesn't answer because he is close and NOW he says he knew something was wrong because his GF was still awake. That was your first guess there, ron, I thought you must have figured that out on say about the 50th call home and no one knows where she or the kids are.

im with you on this, whisperer! somebody saw him NOT doing his job and making all those phone calls. there is no way he could be on his phone that much at work and his boss not notice!! i think when we find out EXACTLY what hours rc worked that day/night it will makes things alot clearer.

Chelsea is not lying to the reporter. The reporter flubbed up the report and said Misty called Chelsea about the scratch when it was Lindsy that called. This van belongs to Lindsy and Tommy (I include both since they are married-communal property and all). Chelsea was borrowing it because their car was wrecked the weekend before. Chelsea never says Misty called her about the scratch, she says "she". There has been a lot of discussion about this report-look through some of the older posts in the van threads. It is wise to take media reports with a grain of salt-they are not always correct and they don't correct the info. alot of times! This same reporter is the one that reported Misty's bond was lower than it was (can't remember the figure right off, but it was incorrect).

ETA-Maryann, the thought has crossed my mind that someone (Misty) had a key or knew where one was for Timmy and Chelsea's house, went to their house, went in and got the van key that was on the counter, took the van, disposed of Haleigh, damaged the van in the process then returned the van, trying to set Joe up.

yes, it is a fact Ron stopped at the store in San Mateo. He described where it was at in the Cobra tape and it matched Ger's description in the photo thread.
She is going to put up her "3am run" from PDM to Green Lane where she stopped at the same store.

When I think of all of these lies, I get dizzy. When the news was showing the search on tv, I could only imagine Crystal's horror. There was a girl, pointing out spots where her daughter's body might have been dumped. an unrelated girl, who in reality, barely knew Haleigh. How freakn' angry that must've made her. & then to hear Tommy's & Jo's names. She was probably wondering, Who The He** ARE these people? I don't know what happened, but I think LE does, & I hope they pay, big time. How could Tommy, who has kids of his own, leave Haleigh's family in limbo? How could he let them keep on hoping, if there wasn't any hope?

Amen to this. I'm currently involved in a misdemeanor case where the lead detective went running his mouth to the local media and reports things that I supposedly said to him when in fact, the only thing I said was, "I have nothing to say inregards to the incident!" But, because the detective told the media, they ran with the story. I was furious. When my case goes to court it will be proven that I said nadda, but I highly doubt that the media will redact and/or write another article saying they were wrong. As a result, I read all media reports with a box of salt.

I had always heard the van belonged to Lindsy, then I thought I was hearing Chelsea say the van was Misty's. Thank you for pointing out the reporter added his take, after the fact. Since we go by what's reported to us in order to arrive at our conclusions, we may be off by a million miles!

Mew, I think LE is looking at the wrong brother. I think Timmy helped dispose of Haleigh's body. Remember, he is Ronald's favorite! Anybody that Misty has gone out of her way to exonerate are the ones I feel had everything to do with Haleigh's disappearance. On Nancy Grace Friday night, I thought Chelsea was going to pass out from fright. (not stage fright either) I think they moved to Mass because Timmy is guilty of helping Ronald and Misty cover up Haleigh's death!

Timmy is the one that should have appeared on NG IMO. Misty apparently called Timmy several times Monday evening and Timmy said Jo wasn't in his room after he went to bed. Timmy apparently failed a LDT and told Misty during a jailhouse conversation he won't return to Florida to visit his siblings in jail because he's afraid of being arrested.

Misty said Timmy is the brother she relies on for help. Timmy hurled verbal insults at Ron before HaLeigh disappeared and Ron reported him to LE. Ron didn't have warm and fuzzy feelings for either Timmy and Tommy IMO.

I don't recall any report of Timmy hurling verbal reports BEFORE Haleigh disappeared. In fact, Misty insists that Timmy was the only person in her family he could stand. The only report of Timmy hurling insults was the infamous call, reported to police, when Timmy called Ronald a FAB. As we all know, that went nowhere.

My God, I'm thinking all five of them (Misty, Tommy, Timmy, Joe and Ronald) all had a hand in what happened to Haleigh that night. At the very least, they all know that she is dead. They also all have something on each other and that's why no one is talking. Maybe they are all afraid of their own culpability in this case.

I also believe something happened to Haleigh prior to Tommy and Joe arriving to dispose of the body. I also believe Chelsea knows more than she is giving up. As for Lindsy, I think she was spared from knowing anything about it.

If Joe is arrested for the murder of Haleigh, fine, but I will never believe that the others didn't have a hand in it too.
