2010.04.14 Search scene now a CRIME scene-Misty to testify against perp in plea deal

Supposedly a reporter overheard Crystal telling a friend she was with at the jail that her baby was dead and Joe did it. Let me try to find the article but if anyone knows where it is please post.

AH is the source for that, and frankly, I'll take a box of salt to swallow it.

It's also entirely possible that bio mom and all the family when called in for that meeting to explain to them the search that LE informed them there was information they had received that Joe may have been the perp and that this information is also leading them to search where they are searching. Doesn't mean LE necessarily told family that Joe did it. But a distraught mother, hearing that LE finds such a tip credible and they believe that Haleigh MAY be dead at his hand, may call a friend after that conversation and say in her grief - Joe killed my baby.

I do not believe LE would have told the family that, I think it is the conclusion reach by family based on their meeting, but not necessarily exactly what they were told.

look...Misty has been lying to cover for family... joe is probably a sociopath and charming as hell. These kids all know what happened down in that swamp... maybe Tommy went to the house and no one was there because they were already down by the pier. Maybe Tommy caught up with them there...but Misty was already gone running home.

so many ways this could go down. ... someone who throws small animals to aligators in order to watch them die is a person to be very very suspicious of and careful around.

saw the cars there and was scared to death...maybe Joe caught up with her.

BBM: This may be the reason RC never told LE about the fight over a gun - isn't possession of a machine gun illegal? He would have lost custody of his son had this tidbit come out in the early days of the investigation, don't you think?

imo, I also think the whole thing is staged to bring out the real killer or truth. There is no way the body can still be there. St John River is a tidal river. lots of alligators and other big fish. If the body is in some sort of container, it would have to have been weighted down very very heavy, in which case its way way down in the mud and sludge.

A side scanner cant find it. Watching the video, I don't see any signs of mud coming up.
They need a sludge remover. I think they are called. Its a huge bucket that drags the river or canals, pulls the sludge from the bottom of the river to make it deeper. Every bucket could be examined.

Why are the dogs there?

I lost faith in all the stories when Grandma changed her story from driving by and saw Haleigh to stopped by the house and Haleigh was there.

IF she said that (big if IMO) then CS had to be drawing her own conclusions from whatever she was told, just as you said. No way LE actually TOLD her that a certain person was the killer, when LE has not even arrested that person and has in fact interviewed him and sent him home.

The van was driven that night and brought back w/ scratches on it. Is JO the ONLY person who could have gotten the keys and taken the van?

I haven't seen any dogs there yet! Are they there? I hope so. But something was said about the temperatures at the time she disappeared and that alligators dont really hunt or eat because it is cold at the time.

Cadaver dogs were there on the first day searching the dock area and surrounding woods.

Same thing went through my mind when I read that. Sounds like a cooked up story between the 2 Croslins. They tell Gma and know that she'll go to the police because it implicates someone other than the 2 that are in jail. That way neither is the initial snitch.

I have a feeling everyone is being duped by a cooked up story.
