I don't think they did either, because I think they made sure the dope was gone before LE got there.

I wonder if the drugs LE found in that vehicle when they were searching for Haleigh happened to be prescription drugs ? Do you remember that, that vehicle was fairly close to the MH it was abandoned .....

Or the drugs were put in a plastic zip lock and put in someones culvert.

or that too! All I am saying is that this whole thing about three people involved is not ringing right with me. It makes no sense as to why 3 people would be involved in a 6 year old child's death. I think that this all points to their drug habit. Ron wouldn't be arrested for Haleigh's death but he would be arrested for having illegal drugs just as Misty and Tommy would if they were popping pills that night.

I think this whole thing will come back to drugs and the cover up of an OD. Maybe we'll never know for sure, but the drug theory explains Ron's cover up of the death. It also would explain GGM's quick denial of drugs being present. Ron's been involved with drugs for quite some time. He knew his luck had run out with all of the walking away from charges he has done.

Why would tn and AS go to the area before the LE got there? This is insane! Who would want to find their own grand child's remains? I know tn is a control freak but this is truly disgusting.
In her effort to stay on top of everything she would destroy a crime scene. She learns all info and how to spin things by keeping in touch with Flo. That is my opinion

Now that is truly a good question Whisperer - truly good question. Why the heck didn't they call LE ? Something is just not right with this.

I think it's because Sykes does not believe anything that comes out of Flo's mouth. JMO

Except it sounds like Flo scared the heck out of her if she & TN headed off to the woods by the river....so she musta believed something about something Flo told her...makes me think Flo said something that rang a bell (prior knowledge) w/ GGMS & TN.

I don't understand why they would go anywhere near the river to search if they knew ToC had talked to LE about it....man, oh man.

She believed her enough to go to the new search site before LE with TN and "nose around".

Yeah, I agree with that.

But, IMO, believing there would be a search is one thing.
To believe the (what # story is this) 3rd or 4th story coming from Flo in the past 2 days is different.

My take-away is that the story from Misty about the other bedroom with HaLeigh crying and her with JR hiding under a blanket because she was threatened is a desperate and emotional cover with GmaH to direct away from her, and probably Ron.

I am currently speechless that this is all being aired on national TV and family members are being faced with cruel horrible scenarios on camera ... it may have an effect of help solve this case but at a high price to the innocent members in both families.

I entirely agree with the part of your post I bolded cyber; as for the rest of your post - I do think that it may be of some value to LE. As for the high price to those who are innocent - The highest price has already been paid by the truly innocent; HaLeigh. Everything that anyone/everyone else feels hurts, but it's not fatal. JMHO ~

Did you all catch that Flora called Mrs. Sykes about what she heard before the search was initiated? I think Teresa was mentioned in on it too. Then they hightailed over to the upcoming search site and searched but found nothing. If they had found something what would they have done with it?

Probably the same thing that Cindy Anthony would have done if she had found Caylee first.

This might be way out there but what if -- LE knew Flo would call AS and report the search. I find it hard to believe that they would have given Flo that information beforehand. LE wanted to see who would show up. They could have listened to what was being said.

OKKAAYY, they must have found a shirt in the river, because G'ma Sykes will be able to say that is NOT the shirt she was wearing, I was there. I figured they may found "the" blanket, but I'll go with shirt now. Something is up there with the shirt.

  • #214
Sykes saying Haleigh and Junior putting on shirts she brought over was interesting. And how about that she ALWAYS did the kids laundry cause she didn't want their clothes to have stains. Imagine that? Whew...this case is so over the top, I'll be on drugs before its over.

Wonder why Sykes thought they should have shirts on...Could it be it was too freaken cold on that porch?

Could she have meant an extra shirt over their other shirts because it was cold? I missed that part because my computer buffered at the point. I need to watch it on youtube.

Maybe this doesn't belong on this thread but I'm gonna throw it out there. Early on in the case there was a Sheriff's deputy that was discharged because LE found drugs in his car............................

The way Chelsea came on that phone and reamed Granny Hollar - I can assure you Misty and Tommy are not using any minutes to call Granny. JMHO

In regards to Misty and Jr hiding under the sheets.....wasn't it later determined that all the beds were made up??

:banghead: I wish that NG had let the 3 ladies continue arguing. Their phony defenses were down and their dukes were up - and I think we would have heard some truth slip through. LE could have gotten a windfall. I personally didn't give a fat rat's backside what the "lawyers" or the "shrink" or the "callers" thought tonight. This was an unprecedented opportunity which mostly went to waste in the hands of an unskilled journalist.

Levi - too bad you weren't running this interview!

Yes, they did.

And welcome to Websleuths!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm thinking Gma S may have said too much tonight. I had never heard the changing shirts before. Makes me wonder when Haleigh last wore that shirt.

Gma S admitted that Gma H called her about the docks.
I bet LE some phone records to see when calls happened between Gmas and which Gmas called LE before the search.

What Chelsea is saying makes the most sense to me than anything else that anyone has come up with. I said this long ago. If Haleigh overdosed on illegal drugs that Ron, Misty, and Tommy were all a part of selling then it implicates ALL THREE OF THEM! I think that she overdosed on the pills and then Tommy and Misty got rid of her body so that they didn't get implicated any further. I think that Ronald Cummings was at WORK it fits with everything but he would still be implicated because he sells the drugs.

I don't think it would. He was charged almost a year later with selling drugs. If he was selling drugs at the time of Haleigh's disappearance LE would have arrested him then, just like they did this time. If they suspected drugs were being sold in the home then even if they hid the drugs LE would bring the drug dogs in to do a scent trace and they would put him under surveillance until they caught him.

He could not be implicated. There has to be proof that he was selling at the time and since he has never been charged with selling during that time period he would not be implicated. LE can't just theorize and speculate, they have to have proof and it is obvious they don't have it, hence no arrest until January of this year.
