They would have found evidence of the pills inside Haleigh's stomach if she overdosed which would open the case wide open.

1. It would lead to LE to wonder why they have Oxycontin in the first place,.

2. They'd want to get evidence of a prescription from a doctor due to a medical issue

3. If there was no prescription given then LE would figure everything out.

4. Plus they'd have statements from Crystal S who has said all along she wondered if Haleigh got into pills.[/QUOTE]

Unfortunately "wondering" doesn't make evidence though Willow. Lots of us have wondered what happened. Unless the police has told the families what they think happen then of course they have theories of their own about possibilities.

Did they find illegally obtained Oxycontin in the home when Haleigh went missing?

I just dont think this is an accidental overdose. If so she would have died in her home and Hardy said in his PC they believe she died in the area of the last known search.

IMO

The Sheriff's words were something along the lines of "it's a very real possiblility". All that tells me is that they, at that time, were not sure where she died.

I always suspected AS did the laundry for the past five years. She did rc's also..she didn't want to admit it because it would make him appear immature. In fact I will go further and say AS
raised the kids. Ron's first chance on his own was when Haleigh started school....MO.

BUT please take note, TN was not the one doing the laundry. TN was also not available when misty asked her to babysit that night.

The shirt changing was significant. Did these kids put on shirts when they were outside. Sounds like they didn't have any one.

Were we ever able to identify what the shirt looked like? Maybe Gma Sykes can tell us?

Did anyone hear when Chelsea said she wanted LE to search out on 309 and a party, then she was cut off? I will have to listen to that part again as I could be wrong but thought she said party.

I mentioned that a page or 2 back but no one paid any attention LOL. 309 comes right off of hwy 17 and you turn off of it onto Shell Harbor. Thanks for someone else noticing!

Yeah, there was that vehicle too. But there was one found within the first few days, close to the MH.

Thank you for straightening me out on that teh! ((((HUGS))))

Where was Chelsea when DCF came a-calling about the pills? Of course she could have told them just like TM reported the gun in RC's mouth and taking out several people with himself.

If they don't have a video or the child being comatose or the parent in prison, child remains in house... :banghead:

I wanna know when Gramma Sykes said she went to the MH. How many days into the investigation and before or after Ron and Misty's LDT?

  • #287
I could be wrong, but GGS strikes me as not knowing much. It seems that her main concern is damage control to Ron's drug use. If she had bigger fish to fry, or bigger plots to cover, I don't think she would be so defensive about his lifestyle. I actually did feel some sympathy for her when Ron's decision to leave Misty with the kids, was brought up. I guess she's heard that a time or 2. & all of this time, I thought that bit of info was being overlooked by everyone, except web sleuthers.

GGM made sure to deny that Misty was impaired that night. Why is this denial so important to her ? How would she really know if Misty had drugs in her system anyway ? I would think that the family of the victim would be mad as he** at Misty, now that she is suspected in this crime, but they say nothing bad about her...still. Per GGM no drugs in Misty, no drugs in the home. These denials make me suspicious.

Must not have been scared of those worms though Bessie.

Ron retained custodial rights on both of his children even after Haleigh went missing. To this day he still has custodial rights. Crystal got temp custody of Jr. because Ron was arrested this year.

What was the arrest for and how long ago? Was it for selling illegal prescription drugs or something like pot?

IMO
Exactly, but he wouldn't have retained custody if his drug activity had come to the surface. His arrests involve a variety of drugs, from marijuana to methamphetamine. The information should be easy to find. It's been posted here many times.

Obviously Misty must have re-made the bed after this horrific crime, rather than call LE and then waited patiently for Ron to come home.

It still does not gel with the rest of the facts, like the MH being staged .... was Misty so threatened they did a calm after the fact script and staging, etc?

It is one thing to witness and not report a crime, completely another to engage in a cover-up to protect the perps.

Not buying it. Another Misty, look elsewhere story........

Bingo - go right back to the 911 call - the door was propped open, Misty just woke up, the kitchen light was on, she saw the door and the brick , ran for her phone and saw Haleigh gone. Now all of a sudden Misty is telling completely different stories which acknowledge that she did indeed know what happened and who did it whatever it is and worse - did absolutely nothing about it. Couldn't even call another family member or Ron or God forbid LE.

I wonder why Chelsea is on protecting the family...

Why is LC not protecting her man...the father of her children....the love of her life?

lol. I actually understood GGMS on this one. Pre-treating kiddie stains takes time. You have to be motivated to do all that pre-treating. If you wash/dry a stubborn juice stain, for example, it's there forever.

Okay, I'm a little anal with the laundry. :floorlaugh:

Ron, and then later Misty the brief time she was inserted in the family, probably also didn't take any time or care to take things out of the dryer unwrinkled and fresh. Basically she's saying that the kids weren't clean and well dressed unless she did it. Most great grandmas with decent family don't have to do all the children's laundry.

I thought TN called Misty and asked her to babysit and she even said she would pay Misty. Misty said she would if Ron said it was alright.

ITA. granny holler got her script backwards. She needs to polish up her talking points for next time.

bessie:Not necessarily. She might've been dying from an overdose, and Misty hit her in the head before they threw her little body in the water.

I do agree with part of your post. I do not think the rope nor the concrete blocks were used as weapons but were used to weigh her little body down in the river so she wouldn't rise. I definitely think she was already dead before put in the water.

I respect your opinion Bessie but I feel this case is much more sinister than an accidental overdose.

IMO

Yes, there was a "blanket in the van" story that went along with Misty washing the blankets in the house story. Maybe. And that's all I know.

And she also claimed she took a blanket down from the window..
We know the story about the pee blanket was false, but we have never heard anymore about the blanket she had to wash that came from the window..JMO

For sure Misty wasn't *anal* about stains or Sykes would have no need to do the childrens laundry. Not that it matters in the long run. But Sykes being such a force in Ron's life should have stepped in eons ago and enforced that he was being an axx and facing 15 to 20 for hooking up with jail bait. On the other hand , maybe she was just too tired of being the watchdog over Ron, can't say I blame her.

She said she did not appear to be drugged. There is no way she would know if MC had drugs in her...

lol....I didn't straighten anyone out. I can't find the darn link. But I'll take the hug anyway..........

5. He has prior drug arrests.

6. He would be at great risk of losing Jr.

Yep, that was a can of worms Ron couldn't afford to have opened.
but they could've just blamed cousin Jo-just like they're doing now. & that would've been a whole lot easier than this mess.
