Just heard on In Session Tru TV that JBaez will be on speaking in a few minutes. Don't want anyone to miss it.

Sorry, I usually lurk, and I skipped some pages to post this. Please forgive me if it has already been posted.

Thanks.
Kathy

Thank you for letting us know and don't lurk....join in! :)

JB worried about jurors seeing protesters if jury brought to Orlando.

I think the defense will try anything and everything to get this trial actually moved out of Orlando. IMO Judge Perry will not go for it. There is simply no reason why Casey cannot receive a fair trial in Orlando with a jury brought in from outside. Phooey JB et al!

IMO it won't fly with Judge Perry. :gavel:

Good Gosh...baez complaining about being hounded about the case when he's out and about around town. STAY OFF THE TV THEN! DUH!

But Judge says he wants to stay in central Florida. I wonder who will win?

aksleuth, I've already started pondering this...probably could use a separate thread...maybe Brevard County?? Moore Justice Center in Viera...looks big enough....

Isn't JB from South Florida or has worked there? I think he wants the trial moved to his stomping ground and doesn't want to sequester the Jury so they will be a happy jury and therefore more pro defense - whatever

Now JB is saying National media only brings things up when something is going on as compared to local coverage that calls him if they hear he walked by the courthouse.

Now......where does that fall into his previous diatribes about Nancy Grace and nightly coverage. They even submitted in a motion the number of times Casey was mentioned on Nancy Grace within a period of time.

JB talking about State introducing air samples, he says it's 'experimental science'.

Baez saying Oakridge is not a crimelab -- new science, have not been peer-reviewed... calling it "novel science"; they are going to dispute the air samples in a big way.

Have been skipping around the web to day, looking at different coverage of this morning's hearings, and read what I thought to be the most apt description of Judge Perry, and this was by no means disrespectful. He was referred to as the "Honorable Judge Belvin "Badazz" Perry". After the firm, no nonsense way he ran this hearing, I totally think this moniker fits.
MOO

JB--asked about his client taking stand. JB dancing around this.
Ha, did JB just say they might not even need to put on a case???

The guy on TruTv just asked CM why he didn't speak up today as we all were waiting for it...ha!
CM said JB had it covered. Umm...ok.

Oh my I hope someone taped that! I am not near a TV. It is obvious he and Baez are not in accord. Check out what he once said about TV appearances in this case:

Here is an extensive interview by Tony Pipitone with Cheney Mason and another attorney about defense strategies before Caylee's body was found (article from November 2008). Makes interesting reading now.

Also see Mason talking about the prior claims that Caylee was alive giving Casey, GA, CA, and Baez "establishes they have no credibility whatsoever."!

Defense attorney Cheney Mason said claims made by Casey Anthony and Baez that Caylee was alive will now work against them at trial.

"Then all the talking, all the press interviews and the parents going on this show and that show and the lawyer going on different shows establishes they have no credibility whatsoever," Mason said.

The testing of the remains could be the key to the case.

"The most important thing is how did she die?" Mason said. "It could have been an accidental death -- and we've talked before -- an improper disposal, it could have been a brutal homicide. We don't know, and until the medical examiner is finished and renders a report, no one is going to know."

Rahter said an accidental death would be hard to believe.

"What would a reasonable person do in the case of an accident? Call 911 or call your parents or call a close friend. Do you go borrow a shovel from a neighbor, probably not?" Rahter said.

Mason said an insanity defense would be even more difficult to prove, Rahter said.

"It's really difficult to be not criminally responsible. You have to prove they know right from wrong and they understand the consequences of their actions. Obviously, Casey understood the consequences of her actions because she worked really hard to cover it up," Rahter said.

If the case plays out how many think, the experts agree on what will likely happen.

"You can pretty well predict there's going to be a life sentence, either a plea and get it over with or have a circus trial and then be convicted and get life," Mason said.

Hey, Brevard County is okay by me! I live here. So, at least one person I know is following this case here in Brevard. LOL

MJC in Viera probably is big enough.

I wouldn't expect anything less. They have to. But in the end IMO it will get in. DNA was initially thought to be "junk science" too. It has to begin somewhere.
