2010.05.13 ~ LE found physical evidence at the St. John's river

We know they found evidence because Sheriff Hardy said in his news statement the day before they ended the search at Shell Harbor that they'd gathered items of interest and have sent them off to several independent labs for forensic analysis.

I remember that debs. He stated "items of interest".

I have to wonder if the choice of using the word evidence was by the reporter or did that word come out of LE's mouth?

I'm not picking apart what LE is saying but it is MVHO that "Items of Interest" and physical evidence" are two very different things especially when they are said by someone in LE and specifically this LE entity who has been of few words concerning this case.

All JMHO.

This really has me curious. Whatever it was they have sent it off for analysis. We do know that much.

This is the first I have read that "Several containers of items recovered by divers were loaded onto boats and taken to shore."

could it have been a signifcant find?

I agree...items of interest is one thing, physical evidence another...hoping it's not a case of more word games...they insist they did not find Haleigh, did not recover a body...if we want to analyze every word they did not say, we could imagine they found a bone. Would they have the family that Haleigh was likely dead based on the latest story? That is what I can't figure out...I just hope they found something more interesting than a cinder block...I think there must be dozens of those down there.

Physical evidence???...Hmmm...Makes me think(correct me if I am wrong..or way off) that it was determined ....at that time....the case of Haleigh is NOW changed to a Homicide ...when the search was underway at the harbor....and the divers were finding "evidence" in the water.....Putting the 2 together...physical evidence and NOW A HOMICIDE...makes me think the search found evidence of Haleigh...either...sorry...(bones,hair,teeth, SOMETHING ...to call it a homicide...and to say to start preparing for a funeral.....Something they FOUND...(and not by someone's comment) CONVINCED the LE to pronounce it a homicide...Since that day...and that statement made...has swayed me to believe...they found SOMETHING of Haleigh..either in the woods or in the water....The LE have been tight lipped about what they found, other than saying the cement blocks...IMO..they found something else, too...that is why it is now changed to homicide...IMO also, just finding the cement blocks would not justify calling it a Homicide...IMO...they found SOMETHING..that has changed it to homicide....And to say to start preparing for a funeral.....IMO..that is a strong statement for the LE to make...just based on finding some cement blocks....THERE HAS TO BE STRONGER EVIDENCE FOUND...and IDENTIFIED...JMO and what I think today..

Who knows? They could be basing the murder assertion what they were told by Tommy and Misty. Wouldn't that be enough?

I have a hard time seeing how they could get anything meaningful out of that river, after so much time has past, but stranger things have happened.

And if they got some cement blocks that could be traced back to the MH--this could confirm that she was put in the river, it wouldn't confirm who did it.

I don't know what went on in the first 48 hours of the investigation, but LE seems to be doing everything they can do since I've been following this case.

Something I've been wondering about....how deep is the water right off the dock? IF Haleighs little body was tied to cinder blocks, wouldn't she have to be thrown out away from the dock? In too shallow water, wouldn't she have been found? Who would be strong enough to do that?

I'm not sure how deep it is, but *if* that is how she was disposed of, I'd think a boat should've been used to make sure she, or any evidence with her, was far enough out not to be found. MOO

BBM.. No one....But IF... and I repeat IF she was put there, someone came along shortly after and moved her to another place.....I'll never believe Ron C would allow anyone other than himself and very close family to know exactly how and where Haleigh's remains was disposed of..JMO

I've always had my doubts about her being dropped off or thrown from that
dock since I saw the pictures of LE standing in that water only knee deep with
their "sifting equipment".

I couldn't imagine that a child attached to cinder blocks with yellow rope
would not be visible to someone standing on the dock, certainly to anyone
putting their boat into the water in that area!

I have a hard time believing that Haleigh was thrown in the river, especially that spot because I don't think RC would do that. As far as evidence, I'm thinking clothing, a blanket, her necklace or a weapon of some sort.

Five feet of rope is nothing. I don't think a body, even a small girl's body, can be tied up and then attach 2 cinder blocks with that small amount of rope. I'd like to know if the cinder blocks were attached to this rope! I'd be very surprised if it were.

Well.....IMO.....SOMETHING was found there that made the LE change the case to Homicide and the announcement to start preparing for a funeral....STRONG language for only finding some rope and cement blocks...JMO

Had the search already been started...BEFORE the media was there??? If so, there could have been something found ...at that time.....to determine it to be a Homicide..The LE have such....TIGHT LIPS....IMO..they found SOMETHING of Haleigh..

Edited to add...I guess for me....the fact the LE DID NOT call the case a Homicide......until........IN THE MIDDLE of searching the waters at the boat dock with the divers....and their search concluded another half day after that...correct me if I am wrong...NO MORE SEARCHES ARE BEING DONE....now just waiting for the test results to come back....and an arrest(s) made.

I would not believe any of those creeps if they told us they live in Florida much less any real facts about what happened to the poor child.

More than likely she found or was given a drug and died as a result. At least we can rest assured the cops took care of them by other means and their lives Are ruined. Good ridence IMHO

This proves that Tommy knows something and that Misty claims she was told, but also knew. Either one of them did something to Haleigh or made the whole story up to try and get out of jail quicker. Everything seems to lead back to Tommy.
