Page 14783, Dr. Haskell's entomology bill:
"Case Note: There was a great amount of time required for completion of the entomological portion of this case.
In more than 800 cases over a 25 year period this case generated the highest number of samples I have ever had to analyze."
Thus, the insect identifications were extremely time consuming with many specimens in some samples. In addition, with the large l1l1mber of samples, the time required to simply h'ack each sample from the multiple sources, maintaining chain-of-custody, verifying sample numbers and locations recovered, and assuring documentation was correct, was a major challenge. As was our agreement, the time I spent in Florida was a pro bono consideration and was not induded in any charges of time in this statement.
Two independent and different case reports were generated from the two sets of insect
evidence submitted. The conclusions drawn for each report necessitated many hours of
study, thought, and reasoning to achieve the most likely and reliable interpretation of the insect evidence as it interacted with biological and environmental data.
This billing statement is for time over a 17 month period.
I think that this is encouraging.
