After thinking about this for awhile I really doubt anyone is trying to pin anything on GA. I do think they are about to discredit him big time and make him look like a real fruitcake. I'm surprised they haven't sent their new PI to Niles or Warren Ohio yet to find out the real reason GA left the Sheriff's Office.
I do think he has a lot to be embarrassed about and Casey and co are about to make his face glow-in-the-dark RED!

Why would the defense go to the effort to prove GA is a fruitcake when GA has already proven it many times over?

I googled the subject and a lot of research has been done on the topic by independents as well as government sponsored studies. Seems that victims of paternal abuse especially suffer from an inability to develope a healthy self identity and often suffer from BPD among other serious psychologocial and social problems.

Also this happens within families more frequently then most of us could imagine. So it's not impossible that it happened to Casey.

Did those studies mention that the victims were pathologically lying psychopaths (IMO)?

I haven't read thru the whole thread yet and I apologize if it has been posted already

I am wondering if the Defense are now trying to find some way to get George's statements tossed or discredit him somehow since they lost getting the 911 tapes tossed.

As a former LE, he knew and stated so in the LE interviews, the smell of human decomp and George's deposition to the Grand Jury helped indict Casey on the murder charges.

We really don't know for certain exactly what George testified before the Grand jury, do we? We do know an indictment came down rather quickly, we know George had a very hard time of it that day, and we know that Mark NeJame was representing him. Ever since then, George did a 180 degree turnaround, and publicly proclaimed his support and belief in Casey's innocence. The suicide 'attempt' was rather questionable, IMO, (i.e., George letting Brad and Cindy know, detailed letter he wrote, ordering pizza and beer, not truly ingesting meds, had taken his Rx meds with him to hotel etc.) So again I am wondering if this isn't all part of the plan and has been all along, at least to help during the sentencing phase of the trial.

To answer your question, I do think perhaps George knows more than we think ("George, you're a man who knows a lot about a lot of things") but I wonder if George isn't also simply going along with a "saving Casey" crusade.

His demeanor in court tells me otherwise.

To me, it doesn't look too good for their future earning potential if the bus heads their way and leaves a few tire tracks on them. They cannot possibly be OK with this as part of any script, IMO.

There's an old saying, that goes;

The first one on the bus gets the best seat.
It's not to late for George to grab that seat out from underneath the entire bunch of them.

He could rewrite the entire story by telling the trueth.
And, the paycheck would have only HIS name on it.

Really? I missed that one.
Maybe the JAC should instruct the PI to call first to schedule an interview before "attempting" to interview at the persons' home and then billing us, the Florida taxpayers, for the "attempt"

What are the dates of the release of the letters that Casey wrote to her jailed pen pal, and, the date that George wrote his "WHY" letter to Casey?

From the invoices sent to the JAC, it looks like the investigating began in mid March, to the end of March.

And, when was the last hearing that George attended, prior to the one last week?

It's going to be JB movie deal and book rights when all is over~~ he will get what he has been waiting for since day 1 when he took this case. He wouldn't dare let Casey even think she would remain behind bars`` he has her convinced she will walk out with him. Little does he know how evil she is~~ he will be next on her hit list...!! Would love to see the sealed video of them together that he threw such a fit over being released.
