2010.07.26 Grand Jury begins

It usually involved the keeper of the records for companies like cell providers, banking and financial, etc. The papers don't mean much without a person testifying as to what they are and what they mean.

Right. I've seen these people testify in person for both Peterson and Spector. They verify the veracity of the records to get them entered as evidence, chain of custody, all that.

Is this woman, DeDe, a mother? I'm assuming so, but I don't know much about her. But if so, how could a mother do this to someone's child? Keep information from the real parents?

I want Kyron found. I want him back in school in a month or so. I want him to have a normal life.

Not a mother as far as we know. No kids at home.

Ack. I closed the link out on Oregon law regarding grand juries. It said service for a year, I believe. I didn't read through all the statutes so the answer may have been in there somewhere, but does anyone know what happens if the process exceeds the term of that particular jury? Does it start all over again with a new jury or are they compelled to remain in service?

There may have been a state law that you found that is general, but Oregon is one of the few states in the U.S. where the counties control most of the way Grand Juries are operated specific to their own county. Our cities uniquely have their own charters as well. And we are not a community property state, as mentioned a lot here. We also have some of the toughest search and seizure laws in the land.

Oregon believes in individuality and it shows in our legal system.

I don't know what he's doing. She's cooperating now because of the subpoena and because she may be in deeper poo than she originally thought.

We'll see what happens. I don't know anything about her attorney except that he is defending her. The police and prosecutors often disagree with defense attorneys, so I see nothing wrong with disagreeing with one.

I'm taking the prosecution side in this case - Kyron's side.

Stavley disputed those comments Monday, saying Spicher has been "extremely cooperative" with police as they executed search warrants on her home and car. He said she also met with the lead investigator in the case last week for more than three hours.

He added that Spicher is not speaking to Terri Horman.

My local court clerk friend said that in Multnomah County they choose jurors every so many months but she can't remember how many exactly.

If a juror starts on a case, they will continue with that case until its completion, even if their term expires.

I don't see them having her sit there for 3 1/2 hours if she wasn't talking. Once she claims the 5th, not much else they can do. Of course she may have lied to them. Who knows. Same could be said about everyone involved here.

Boy that would suck lol. Well, it's good for the DA and the suspect and justice and the American way and all that ... but still. I'd be right upset if I was sitting on a GJ for years.
