I haven't had time to read through the thread, so sorry if this is a repeat.

1. Was anyone else getting the Amscott ad playing before they showed her apology? HA! Was it coincidence, or could they be cashing in on the case too?
2. I'm thinking they smeared some vicks under KC's eyes, to help her cry.

3. The way her atty cuddled her in a motherly way after her apology made me want to vomit. But then I thought of the pavlov response.

If she gets enough positive reinforcement for telling the truth then maybe its not too late for her to learn how to be honest. And maybe one day we will finally learn the whole truth about what happened with Caylee.

They need someone in that cell with her saying "Is your name Casey Anthony"?
When she answers yes, she gets a hug.

"Do you love to go on shopping sprees, spending other peoples money"
If she says yes, she gets a hug.

"Do you love men in uniform"? Yes- followed by hug......

If she says no- she gets a spray of water in her face. (I'd like to think of a mild electric current, but don't think that one would fly. LOL)

You get the drift.....Over and over like 20 hours a day. Every day.

Not that I think she's deserving of hugs, but positive reinforcement has been proven in the world of science, and parenting ,and in schools, and the workplace.
But maybe I'm giving her too much credit, thinking she could be as smart as a lab rat.

What I do not understand is how can JB ask AH to contact his office on behalf of KC when AH is a witness in the murder trial. Isn't that walking a very fine line, not counting the one the judge set down about no contact. I mean they were accusing the poor woman of involvement in Caylee's disappearance. Does JB really think that an apology just for writing those bad checks is enough? That was minor compared to pointing a finger at your friend and saying "she could be the nanny." Everytime that man opens his mouth I think parts of his brain fall out. JMO

now that's funny

I understand your point but I disagree. The right thing to do is to genuinely accept responsibility and sincerely apologize. I don't know any crime victim who would've felt better with a hypocritical apology rather than nothing. The ones I know would rather the guilty party disappear off the face of the earth than continue to victimize through mind games and bs. It's not the 'right thing to do' when one only does it for one's benefit. Make no mistake, if she (& Baez) thought it would've helped her case more to be silent, the world wouldn't have heard a peep from her.

Further, I doubt she has any literal concept of what the 'right thing' means. It's an abstraction to her. It's something people keep talking about and she has to figure out how to pretend to do it/feel it/portray it in order for her to psychologically (and quite possibly literally) survive in this world.

The more she practices, the more convincing she gets to people (and the only people who matter are the ones who have something she wants/needs). Once she thinks she's accomplished a particular ploy (i.e., it 'works' on most victims), she'll move on to her next manipulation. I think this is why her & Baez get along so well ... they feed off of each other ... they use each other. If she thought for a minute he couldn't really help her, or someone better came along, she'd drop him pronto!

I have to admit there are two times in the video where I thought for a second she was sincere (that's how far she's come in her 'acting' lessons). I kinda got off track here but bottom line is, I believe the 'right thing to do' is when we do something because it will benefit someone else or ease their suffering somehow. KC's not capable of caring about that, In fact, her public apology could've quite easily caused more damage to her victim(s), especially since they had to listen to her annoying nails-on-a-chalkboard voice. :snooty:

Just my opinion. Nothing personal. :innocent:

I like to think back a bit further and note that IF she were genuinely sorry, she would not have waited until one day before her time was up to plead guilty. Nothing she says matters, because she put 'playing the game' of the court system before being honest and admitting what she did. This could have and should have taken place a year ago. She was holding out as long as possible, to the day, to try to get a better outcome for herself. Anything she says after that is meaningless pap.

Another thing Baez keeps going around saying is "if you watch the jailhouse tapes you'll notice one of the first things she says is tell Amy I'm sorry." Not quite. At some point during their visit (definitely not at the beginning) CA is asking if she should pass on messages to any of her friends and I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) she asks KC what she should pass on to Amy and then KC says "tell her I'm sorry." All I know is that CA initiated the passing messages on, KC didn't like JB wants us to think.

Thanks for your comments - it is interesting to hear what someone who was actually there has to say. I wondered why you weren't posting immediately and now I know - as you say you had to rush home and watch it on TV.

On the video, the courtroom didn't look that big - like there were only maybe 8 or 10 rows on each side, one side for the defense and one side for the prosecution. The defense side didn't look full, and we didn't ever get a shot of the prosecution side - that I saw at least. So did you mean the judge was a long way away from you, plus the attorney's tables or what exactly? There was initially problems with the sound when the video started at the beginning, with a lot of buzzing, but it didn't switch on until the session actually started and was shut off the minute court was adjourned. Annoying, we couldn't hear anything we weren't supposed to hear. So can you give more info - where did you sit - blah, blah, was Kathy there? I saw BS at the beginning talking to the SA's but no sound. Any detail will be interesting!

after coming out of the hearing i said to reporters i have no idea what most said as it seemed muffled. i wrote notes and glanced at the notes of others sitting beside me. i even wrote to one- i can not hear- theres an echo. i did not rush home as i had things to do. i also have been on phone with microsoft for hours as both my computers had nasty virus . be aware of fake sites saying internet security 2010! then i watched video on internet to hear every word.
marinade dave has posted a video . check it out. the court room was huge- i bet the most large of all. 23floor. ceilings seemed to reach the heavens-lol. very impressive . i sat in last rows. cindy and george sat in front of me did not know they would as i sat first. cindy asked a girl to move one seat over as the girl blocked view of casey. the girl did move. i saw casey acknowledge her parents and small smile. cindy was shaking - seemed to be trembling as i saw her back of head. i felt bad for her and george. unless your there its hard to explain that you see them all as real with real tears and emotions. i do have empathy for them. she was better after the ruling it seemed - less shakey it looked like.jmo-
. prior to hearing i was there at 11 am . hearing was 1:30. i watched camera crews set up. spoke with another websleuther . nice lady. i speak to everyone and smile a lot so others approached me and i them. everyone was friendy and gracious. had chat with marinade dave who filmed me outside after hearing. i said i write and blog and was there as an author as i do write on other subjects than crime-and represent websleuths as a fan of the site. spoke with kathy - nice lady too. some asked who i was and introduced themself. i thought that was great cause no one acted stuck up. casey looked so young- i kept thinking omg- how can this be real for them all? i looked at george and cindy in such pain and casey who i do believe was sincere and prayed =god bless them all and caylee too. yes i prayed for all- i would not want to be in their place for one second. i had shook hands with cindy, george and brad prior to hearing as i had to pass by them, and said good luck today- they said thanks. regardless if guilty or innnocent of casey, i do not judge any of them . i have no right to as only god knows every detail. some would say and the killer too, but once again - i will not judge, judge stan is awesome- so fair and calm! jmo on entire post

littlemisslegal Am I misunderstanding your previous post, but do you hold yourself out as "a representative of WS as a fan of the site" to all of these various people you are introducing yourself to/talking to at the court hearings? Just curious.

Good day WSers ~
I've tried to keep up with this thread... sorry if this has been brought up before.
I was so surprised not at the plea but for her comments. She apologized to AH for not being a good friend... she was ashamed in so many word of her actions, etc. So wasn't the whole reason behind the shopping sprees because she was following the script that ZFG had given her at Blanchard Park when Caylee was kidnapped by ZFG and her sister Samantha? Didn't CA talk about this script?
When GA asked her about this money thing, didn't KC say there was a good reaswon that she couldn't talk about.... it was a time of desperation ? Didn't JB insinuate that her reasons for this check fraud case, and the murder charges would all finally be explained at trial? During her plea she didn't say anything about "yes I did it but there was a good reason"... she just said she "did bad" and she was ashamed.

I was thinking about Casey's little speech and was wondering if her intentions were to pull on Amy's heartstrings and not sincere at all. No offense to Amy but she bought into everything Casey said. I'm not saying that she would now but Casey might believe that she still has the ability to make Amy forgive and forget all that had been done and it might come in handy when Casey's trial comes along?

I could see Casey doing something like that.

i certainly am not a representative of all the posters here on websleuths in any legal or official way. i never say in print or in person if i feel she is 100 percent guilty or innocent to anyone but my family and close friends. yet i do post on theorys of both for devils advocate type discussions. i do not hate anyone in this case or any other case. until i hear every detail and can know its the absolute truth - which it may never be-lol- i do not claim to know anymore than anyone else opinion.opinion is not always true, right or to be taken as official. one day i may think innocent, next guilty. i represent myself and may say i am on message boards.i am a fan of websleuths and a poster . i would not give my real name on tv or in print on these boards. when i was having a personal conversation with reporters or others i used my real name. on tv i said i post on websleuths AS LITTLEMISSLEGAL. I AM A PUBLISHED AUTHOR OF BOOKS AND WRITE ON OTHER TOPICS. I DO NOT TYPE MYSELF IN MY BOOKS AS I TYPE BAD-LOL. SO YES- I AM A FAN, A POSTER, A WOMAN WHO RESPECTS ALL OF YOU WHO RESEARCH AND POST HERE. I AM NOT MISSWEBSLEUTHS- I ONLY LOVE IT HERE AND THINK EVERYONE RESPECTS EACH OTHER AND PROUD TO SAY I AM ON WEBSLEUTHS.IF I REPRESENT ANYONE ITS MYSELF AND ABOVE THOUGHTS. SO YES .. some approached me and asked who i was . i said my name and said i am here cause i am a local fl resident who posts on websleuths and write books and author. when asked who i am on this message board i say littlemisslegal from websleuths- a fan and poster.

I've always wondered if any action would be taken due to Casey not paying the court-ordered fine. I know they can't just arrest and throw her in jail, because she's already there. But what action does the State of Florida take to collect on the debt owed to them by the criminal?

So what did this mean, anyway? How was she ever under community supervision in a jail cell? I am very confused on this. Can someone explain this?

It makes no sense to me. I thought her supervision period was supposed to start when and if she was ever released. But of course this could be a court clerk's error.

I recall the State mentioning in the hearing, that Casey could serve her year of probation while she was in jail, and that is what appeared to have happened. Though, I never saw any evidence of any probation officer meeting with Casey in the jail, or at least if they did, their name didn't appear on her inmate visitor's log.

Are the $5 partial-payment fees because a partial payment on the restitution was made? If so, I wonder where this $$ came from.......

  • #138
I wonder if the collection agency can levy ICA's inmate account? That would seem fair to me!!!!

Judge Strickland did say her probation would be done while she had the time served on those economic charges but someone wasn't watching the hen house.

During this time, did she not admit to getting contraband sent into her via her attorney, Baez? Did she not pass notes to another inmate while allegedly on this probationary period? If she's not following the rules of the jail, how is she NOT in violation of her probation? Why didn't a probation officer visit her?

The state asked for Casey to get five years. She has been in solitary confinement for the entire time. No one has an interest in wasting money, imo, having a probation officer check in on her. The state got what they wanted , she walks into the murder trial convicted of six felonies. That is huge. The probation was perfunctory ( a matter of formality ) and now it is checked off the list. That is all. What remains, forever, are the felony convictions. She is a felon. Forever. That is what matters. "Probation could start today", Mr. George argued to the judge. If she were to take the stand, she could now be asked if she is a convicted felon. She wont take the stand, of course, but IF she did...it would become something the jury learns of.
