P.I. Accused Of Witness Tampering In Casey Case

http://www.wftv.com/goinggreen/25455422/detail.html

Defense private investigator Jeremy Lyons is being accused by two EquuSearch volunteers of trying to change their testimony about searching the scene where Caylee"s remains were later found. One has already been deposed by the defense and the other has given a statement to investigators.

Lyons was in court recently examining EquuSearch records. He keeps a low public profile, but behind the scenes, he's talking to EquuSearch volunteers who are not happy about it.

Brett Churchill and Brett Reilly, both prosecution witnesses in Casey Anthony's murder case, feel Lyons was trying to get them to change their testimony.

Well, well, well...what do we have here.?
Good for them for sounding off and complaining about being pressured to change what they know to be true in order to fit the Defense's theory.

Jose Baez did. I believe Lyons was used by JB in the Nilton Diaz case too.

And we know the outcome of that trial...GUILTY.

Unbelievable. I don't know what to root for - Baez getting disbarred or what ?

  • #24
Can Baez get in trouble for what his investigators do?

:waitasec: Were they on the same search team?

I don't think so, at least not with TES. Churchill also searched independently with psychic GSJ. I believe Churchill became a board member of TES Orlando.

And didn't GSJ also complain she was contacted by this PI and pressured to change her story, or did I misread that last week?

Thanks,
I thought they were both on Joe Jordan's search team..but it was only Churchill.

You are right she did say He kept calling her and calling her. She was getting irritated that he seemed to be trying to get her to say something different than she was really saying.

There was also the blogger guy who said that Lyons was smooth as butter and was pretty slick at getting him to talk.

Seems like this is a collection of the lowest of the low, and I would think this is just the start of questionable tactics. I do hope they get slapped for every bit of it too.

I thought JLyons was brought into this case when Andrea came on board along with JBarrett. Whatever or however he came to work for JB, the man needs to be brought down a few notches and I hope JAC cancels his contract with the state and he eventually loses that PI license of his. He and Dom give the rest of the good PIs a bad reputation ... guilt by association of being a PI.

Could Baez possibly find any shadier people to work for him?
Judge Perry is Not going to be very happy when he gets wind of this.

Wonder if Mark is burning some night oil on this and we see a motion filed shortly on behalf of TES?

bbm

At this point, slapping seems a bit inadequate. I think it's time for a good boink on the head with a big law book!

I'm not surprised in the LEAST! After reading fla*mom's posts last week and her concern, I knew the searchers were in for it.

There is no chance that LE will NOT investigate this. I'm going to just sit back and eat .

It will be interesting to watch the defense try and justify all of this...

Yup! They are desperate...

Ah, I don't think one boink will do it.

Nope, that was Mortimer Smith that came with A. Lyon.

http://www.clickorlando.com/news/21661564/detail.html

A new member of the defense team was seen entering the courtroom on Thursday. Mort Smith is a Chicago-based private investigator who teaches at DePaul University, the same school where fellow defense team member Andrea Lyon teaches.

Smith has been digging into Kronk's personal life for the past several months in an effort to uncover information that might discredit the former meter reader, or at least cast doubt on his story of how he found Caylee.
