....I still have my son's dirty clothes from when he last visited from Afghan, and they will stay that way until he returns... sounds crazy, but every now and then I hold them and smell them... :(

You know... when my Mother died, I went to her closet and was BLOWN away by the smell of her!!! It had been around me my entire life, but the first time I smelled her, knowing it was the end..... wow!!! I agree with everyone regarding how they could have left Z's clothes in that big empty, sad room. It must be horrible not having any soul at all....

The thing that really gets me is...where are her toys? Her hairbrushes and barretts? Her coat? Her shoes? Her dvds? Where are the kid drawings on the fridge? Stuffed animals? Anything. It's as if nothing is left of this child except a few shirts and a handful of stickers tossed into the bottom of her closet.

Did LE take everything? And if they did...why not her clothes?

Surreal.

Okay, the pic of the bakers rack on the back porch. I do see what looks like a can of red paint. Oddly, I didn't see it on the rack after it was put back into the kitchen. Maybe LE took it? Who knows? So what the heck was painted red do you think? This 3rd bedroom that's "off limits"?

I did notice that the closet was solid pink, whereas the walls were mottled effect. I thought that odd, but figured if I was going to faux paint a room, I might not bother with the closet either. Okay...I would, but I can see where these 2 might not bother.

I definitely think the bathroom, and at least parts of the kitchen were recently painted. Looking at the paint job on the fireplace, that looks pretty tidy. Also wouldn't require much paint. So was there black paint left over just sitting around the house, and this was used in a rush job?

Just some thoughts.

Going back to check the video of the house because you cant see the whole rack in the photo. It might be on the top shelve and only the front shows red and now we only see the back of the can with lid is closed now.

The home yes is not fit for living at this point.

*my big snip*
I hope that the ones who overlooked the abuse.. cps and county would tear the home down.. compensate the owner and make a memorial to Zhara or leave the lot vacant.. the home of horrors is now a evil place that needs to be demolished.

ITA! That house needs to be destroyed.

I haven't read this whole thread yet but a couple of the wall pics looks like someone punched the wall, by the light switch (twice).

ya know... I don't doubt Zahra painted that room, and I hope she did... I let my kids paint there rooms how they wanted it. I just did the touch up... ;)
What I do wonder is, did AB and EB scrub and remove all evidence from the pink room and fill it with a bunch of their stuff... and staged the front bedroom to be Zahra's to fool LE..?? Maybe more of Zahra's stuff is in the (off limits) 3rd bedroom, and that is why we see so little in the pink room...
sorry to confuse anyone... had trouble explaining it too...lol
get what I mean..??

AB and family never took any of Zahra's clothes???
I would want something, I just couldn't let them hang there like that???

What upset me the most, seeing the sink and plumbing gone..........like that is where they did the dismembering.........all flooring an cabinet fronts gone........

How could he just leave her stuff? Heartless :furious:

Did anyone get to see local news coverage of AB/EB's bedroom? If so, is there a link you can post? Or at list tell us a general description? Wall color? Carpet or no carpet? Stuff of that nature.

Can anyone tell what kind of paint it is? Didn't AB have a worthless check from Lowe's?

What? Adam her father (ahem) did not even take his daughters clothes?

I pray that someone offers her belongings to her MOM. I know when my baby girl died I saved a whole box of her stuff and didn't even wash her lil jammies that she had had on so i could still smell her. I am so sad over this.

I came back in to edit this to tell you all that I still have that box 27 yrs later.

I just noticed something from the back porch pic...it doesn't appear to be a paint CAN, but rather a 5 gallon plastic bucket of red paint. And I still don't see it on that rack in any pics or video that I can see.

Okay, I can't see the names on the paint, but I swear, one of them looks like it could be Valspar Fasthide paint. Same basic look, at least from what I can tell from the pic.

Oh my! They should've used Killz or Shields on the pink bathroom tile before painting it. It would've stuck. Poor/no prep work.

But, if you just put it on the tiles, it would later peel off with no damage, a nice thing if one rents. Wow, I wish I had known this years ago, that one could paint tile. I had the greatest apartment back in my single days, the only thing I hated was the pale pink ceramic tile in the bath (just like this tile, it seems). Other than that, it was a great bath- huge with a large tub the size of a claw foot, although built in with a nice, pink ceramic tile surround. I never thought of painting it. Although, I would have chosen something other than black, probably a nice green.

This whole case makes me ill.

"although her father, adam baker, was recently evicted, he has left furniture in a room wbtv did not have access to. Oddly, the only other personal items not moved out of the house were those in zahra's closet."

"oddly", yes....

:( :( :( :(

OH my, in this picture I can almost visualize where the bed was, and someone standing over the bed hitting Zahra, blood splatter on the wall and once the act was done, blood dripping down off of the weapon that was used. MOO

Oh dear me

Question--do we know which was dominant hand for EB and/or AB?

Yep, I was going to point that out earlier. LE might've noticed the patch job and wondered what might be behind it. The whole next to it looks fresh, though, and I've been trying to figure out why LE would make a second hole. Or, was it someone's favorite wall to punch?

I would think if LE wanted to look behind that wall they wouldn't punch through. mho

Do we know what the house looked like before they moved in? Are we sure they painted the room(s) or is it possible that the room was pink from a previous tenant?

I was thinking maybe his boss/landlord lived there with his daughter b4 the Bakers moved in.

Ok, to be fair, it was October, I have all kinds of decorations around my house during October that could look like I belong to an occult or worship the devil or something. It's Halloween time and we enjoy the festivities! And, yes, I have a reaper too....

LOL. Was thinking it's too easy to read something sinister into EVERYTHING EB. I agree it's either Halloween decor or something she picked to illustrate how 'dark' she was.
My husband has a collection of Reaper figurines, there's a very non-sinister back story too long and way O/T to go into here, briefly, we just "Don't Fear the Reaper", they are on display all year round in a cabinet. Other than that, I assure everyone, we're fairly conservative in our home decor tastes.

As for the rest, well all the black paint is a bit OTT but I suppose she thought it looked 'Gothic'. I'd love to think the pretty pink bedroom was done in good faith for Zahra's benefit but somehow I'm not feeling it and am inclined to think along with others that it was 'staged' after the fact. The clothes in the closet gave me pause, it's a pretty scanty wardrobe by normal standards for most girls around that age I know. Ack, maybe I'm guilty of being too suspicious, but I just wonder if it wasn't actually even scantier before the staging (if staging it was) and a trip to a local Goodwill filled it out a bit afterwards, maybe that would explain why AB didn't take those things - they were never actually Zahra's?

You know,"staged" was the first thought I had when I saw that closet.. all the cloths are so colorful and everything she wore in the pictures were all dark..

I dont think it was ever proven but by the look of her handwriting I would say EB is left handed. JMO
