2011.01.25 Baez Unavailability and Correspondence

  • #61
Hmmm, do we need to let security know Baez is going to be there? I'd hate for either expert to be harrassed by him while they're at a convention! I mean, conventions are supposed to be fun!

Maybe they are "reluctant" like the penalty phase witnesses they are trying to talk to . . .

But they have no issues sending out the P.I. to attempt to squeeze a statement out of them.

IIRC, the P.I states on one if his bills to the JAC.

Went to witness house, he was at work, waited for them to finish work. They never returned.

I'm sure they could park their P.I on the expert witnesses office doorsteps, and get him to supply the report. :)

I know Kathy Reichs is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciene and I bet Dr. Rodriguez is too. As Nore noted upthread, the annual meeting is the same week as JB will be unavailable. When he said a 'unique' opportunity, it is possible a number of his other experts will be attending the meeting too.

Dr. Logan is the Treasurer of the AAFS and will be there conducting CEU classes and speaking on several topics, I posted this on another thread:

Since the defense can't do a "trial by ambush", perhaps that's how they're retaining their experts. :banghead:

Unique opportunity-last of the JAC money Judge Perry will hand out freely and has to take advantage of it. South Beach beware. To cold to visit Geraldo.

This is so funny! It's like the bad date who won't go away. Or the SNL dinner guests who won't take the hint when the hosts start yawning and ask if the sofa opens up into a bed.

Run Dr. Reich run!

(Unique opportunity... ROFL!)

Aren't experts duty bound to supply reports in a timely manner? What am I missing here?

Hey Baez, they're just not that into you.

I was just thinking that and didn't JB say he paid them an initial fee from the blood money.

Baez didn`t like those reports. Without consulting their initial reports, his experts won`t even know what Baez is harassing them about. I`d love to know what amazing tidbit has been holding Dr Spitz back from completing his autopsy report. You`d think a competent lawyer wouldn`t release the body for cremation if his autopsy wasn`t complete.

Could it be that JB stretched the truth about what the experts were planning to testify to in his report to SA? Seems like they are avoiding him and that's not very professional on the experts part. Unless.................

It's these kind of antics that makes me worry this trial could end up going nowhere because of "incompetence". What is the term? Lack of qualified legal representation?

Seriously! Has anyone on here ever heard of an attorney who had to stalk and corner an expert at a convention? A convention that I am sure he was not invited to? OMG! What is he thinking?

I believe the term is ineffective assistance of counsel.

The notice of unavailability could be for any number of things, we are all speculating. His foreclosure, another case, a scheduled medical procedure, etc. Bottom line is I think they are doing everything in their power to prevent this trial from starting 5/9/2011, especially with the filing of the extension of expert info.

I know these dates came up in a recent hearing, and I specifically remember LDB explaining that there was a conflict with someone, because according to the original order, these motions were to be heard before 2/28/2011.

Perhaps the expert witness lured Baez to the forensic science convention to pull a bait and switch...~LOL~

(that is .."if" Baez is truly going to attend)

I imagine Baez walking into the convention like a star, smirking and nodding his head in all the potential expert witnesses directions.

Then sliding them his fancy crested business cards with a note on the back saying "we've got a nice stash of JAC funds ready to be spent" CALL ME if you're ready to play. ~wink wink nudge nudge~

According to Kathy Reich's Twitter, she will be in New Zealand sometime in February.....

KathyReichs @_the_brown but you will have me in New Zealand in Feb.

From your link:

"Does anyone know the actual dates @KathyReichs is gonna be here in New Zealand?” Feb 12 to 16. See ya!"

Well, I suppose that does put a thwart on things, per Baez's recently filed motion for an extension to submit required expert wit info and his planned vacation.

Hope that I-4 is kind to him this time around.

LOL!

It did sound, in the extension request motion, as if some big, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity had suddenly arisen.

hahahaha @ Geraldo mention. Very clever! :D

If JB plans on attending the convention maybe Kathy Belich should lie in wait for him outside the entrance doors. I'm sure he would be delighted to run into her.

Sorry. I thought you meant during the ICA case. This is the same wife he has had since taken on this case...lorena...????
I wonder if she has heard of Lorena Bobbitt? LOL!

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: Never put those two together hehehe....

Yes, this is the same wife for this entire case. He has a daughter, she did the early press statements in the case. She graduated college since this case began.
