Does anyone know what arrangements have been made in the other case Dr Spitz is involved in? Are they moving on without him?

Was it JoyPath who mentioned that putting all these people together was the WRONG thing to do?

It was faefrost in a brilliant post!

2011.01.25 Defense Requests More Time to Submit Expert Reports - Page 3

"I'm still trying to figure that one out. Apparently no one has ever told JB that defense expert witnesses, particularly scientific experts are not supposed to be part of the defense team. They aren't supposed to be part of any team. They are supposed to be a part of any "team". They are supposed to come in and give the impression that they are impartial independent witnesses who have a solid expert opinion on their small piece of the case. They are not supposed to be collaborating with other defense witnesses beyond the actual handling of the evidence in question. Putting them all together in one place to talk about the case undermines their credibility and believability. They are not their to investigate the case or give the whole picture. That is the defense attorneys job. They should not be seen as operating as a group in order to all end up on the same page."

It is amusing to me that Baez bragged about using his own money to go to the conference (Feb 21-26) to meet with the Defense Experts, and he has most likely already paid for his registration for the conference ..... but the Judge did NOT allow him an extension of time on the Expert's reports, who Baez had hoped to meet at this conference which he has already paid for, and probably already booked a hotel room! Baez already put in a Notice of Unavailability for Feb 21-25th!

But if they have already formed their opinions from 2 years ago what would have changed. Their reports should be based on what they found 2 years ago. If this was not enough it is a little late now. He can meet with whomever he wants but if it's not in their report from 2 years ago it won't be heard. Sound like there is nothing from the experts that will help KC's defense. jmo

Snark alert......

But the bad, bad prosecutors keep turning over more evidence and it's just not fair, so now the defense script has to be re-written yet again.

And that only shows you what kind of person he really was. Very Evil.

M eyes lite up when he brought it up, Do you know about the Danny Rollings case? I was wondering where he was going, I was thinking the electric chair (death penalty).
Do you know Mr. Baez what kind of sentence Mr. Rolling received?
I was hoping would be the next question.

I know enough about it having been in college at the time of the murders. One of my best college friends was VERY close to Christa Hoyt. I have also have read quite a few of the motions and rulings in the case. Additionally his appeals attorney knows someone I know so I know some things but nothing privileged. He confirmed the guy was a "🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬"..his words.

IMO Judge Perry was reminding JB that the penalty phase jurors were from Gainesville where the murders had taken place. That verdict / sentence was NOT overturned based on change of venue issues!

darn those prosecutors anyway, everytime they come up with new evidence they go and turn it over to us, forcing us to once again go out and try to find anyone who will refute it. Hence JB's planned trip to convention to corner his experts and find out if they are indeed still his experts.

O....M...G....JB whining about the DNA testing..."we don't have the FBI at our disposal" DEAR GOD he should have went to work for the State or the Feds instead of operating out of a shoebox and fishing for clients in nightcourt. He is so jealous. What a baby.

When BP asked JB what Wm.Rodriguez's specialty was and JB replied taphonomy. Then he went on to say this was decomposition and that Wm.Rodriguez would be testifying about the smell not decomp. Is that what I heard. I was busy watching J.Ashton vigorously shaking his head no.

After the hearing, KB followed the defense out into the hallway. From inside the courtroom you could hear CM yelling John Allen! Get these people away from me. So the rest of the audience goes into the hallway to see what the commotion is all about. KB is asking questions of the defense regarding false statements to the court and CM is bumping her post-bunionectomy-shoe walker with his brief case. He calls her an a$$hole and gets on the elevator. She follows him and a deputy comes between them and indicates that she must get off the elevator.
Sgt Allen and another deputy are sitting in the front row behind the prosecution during the hearing. They wouldn't tell KB what they were there for. After the hearing JB and CM come up to them and talk. I think I heard that they promised to get some papers to them. I heard the word polygraph, but I don't know the context nor do I know who said that. The defense left the building without an escort of any kind. Sgt Allen and his co-worker left with the prosecution.

BBM

I take back everything I said about CM and southern gentlemen, in another thread. A southern gentleman would never hit a woman's shoe walker, and, would never, ever call a woman an a$$hole. :maddening:

Has ICA made a better decision and opted for a Public Defender she might have had more FBI testing access....
. It's not the SA's fault that Baez blew through $250K without doing anything useful.

I'm kind of liking how JBP just sits back and smiles and lets JB ramble on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. He just lets the man run with the theory that ... he's inept.

The Judge asked if it was about odors? And Baez said no - about decomp. Baez said something about the sniffer stuff the State trying to get in is not an established science. The Defense has said that he will testify about time for decomposition, environmental impacts on decomposition, and various stages of decomposition. They said he is primarily a consultant and not likely to testify unless as a rebuttal witness to State Experts.

I am just WAITING for the day JBP says that to JB.:woohoo:
