Why wasn't KC there today? How was CA's demeanor? What happened to GA? Do we know if either one of them are working yet?

No motions were heard, so no Casey. No George, I'll assume he's given up attending the hearings. Cindy had no wedding ring on her finger.

No, it appears Cindy remains unemployed.

*loads of No's in there...~L~ think I was hoping HHJBP would say NO a lot more then he does..haha*

I'm kind of liking how JBP just sits back and smiles and lets JB ramble on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. He just lets the man run with the theory that ... he's inept.

Yes ... and how HHJP gently steps JB through his own CoV Motion that leads to the conclusion that JB has already done research on the pros/cons of Jury selection counties ... so this is nothing he needs 30 more days to do.

JB tries to bluff HHJP and HHJP simply steps JB through some logic and .... voila! Trapped in your own words/actions. Doh!

Is this a preview of the trial ... that the Judge will gently nudge and guide JB as JB fails to deliver?

Scary ICA scary. You got duped and you need to plea to save yourself before JB seals your fate.

and what was with all the watch looking? It gave the impression this hearing was a big ole waste of his time.

I think he was playing a little game of 'see how long JB can go before he says something stupid'

I loved Judge Strickland, but I've got to say, I love Judge Perry more. I also love Kathy Belich. Isn't she just the best???

Justice for Caylee!!!!!!

darn those prosecutors anyway, everytime they come up with new evidence they go and turn it over to us, forcing us to once again go out and try to find anyone who will refute it. Hence JB's planned trip to convention to corner his experts and find out if they are indeed still his experts.

Too late now to corner the experts at the convention!
Judge Perry gave deadlines for the Expert's reports that fall BEFORE the convention dates. The Judge also said no more extensions granted or entertained -- They either give it in a report or told in a deposition. If not in report or depo, not allowed -- simple.

hello everyone! Did anyone else notice Beaz giving the "tweets" copy back to the prosecutors and saying i do not need this? I heard JA say that is your copy.

Also, just a what if here. What if the judge calls that lab and finds out something totally different is the case than what JB represented to him? ie. The director has not received any call or email from JB requesting info or a return call? Or worse yet if he did in fact speak with JB. I am worried he is intentionally trying to get thrown off the case. It just seems to me like a true professional would not just ignore email and voice mail messages from the same person.

Gotta give the judge props for schooling JB on proper trial court procedure with the clerks office. Seems like 1st yr law school stuff to me. ( Not a lawyer, but i play one on TV ha,ha). Maybe Casey needs to be at these hearings so she can see for herself he (JB) aint all that.

:great: I loved that. :great:

HHJP gave the Defense more time, to remove any grounds for appeal but did not play into the game JB was playing ... setting all deadlines (other than Spitz) BEFORE the conference.

I guess JB will have to come up with a different "unique opportunity" and excuse?

What happens if Baez comes back from his unique opportunity convention with 4 fresh new faces to present their theories?

He can't possibly start adding new Experts at this point can he?
Baez seemed to imply the prosecution keeps adding more, so don't be shocked if he starts adding more as well.

I heard a rumor that JB booked a booth at the conference with a sign seeking any experts to volunteer as a "unique opportunity" if they have any rebuttal theories and want to be a part of turning this case on its head.

j/k

HIPAA laws, patient privacy.

What JB apparently doesn't know is that we have the motion about Spitz not able to testify at another murder trial: http://ftpcontent.worldnow.com/wxix/New Folder (4)/Widmer Motions 1-25.pdf

Yes, HIPAA laws prevents Baez from discussing Dr. Spitz's medical condition..... HOWEVER, when JA mentioned Dr. Spitz was out for medical reasons (or however he stated it), JB interrupting JA to rudely say something about JA having said "medical" reasons in open court was just a little on the childish side.

There is no reason at all we can't know Dr. Spitz is unavailable for medical reasons..... even HHJP used the same exact phrase when he spoke about it after that.

IMO, Baez was just trying to make a bigger "mystery" out of it than was actually there.... it felt to me as though he was playing the game "I know something you don't know" with us!!

As you say, obviously, Baez wasn't aware we all already know about Dr. Spitz's condition!! :loser:

IMO, it was a misrepresentation to the court, yet again.

Spitz has had over 2 years to provide, he did not become ill until (12/24/2010) after the reports were originally due on 11/30/2010. He was covering his butt. I thought the SAO was too generous today with this too.

I don't know the legal strategy on this issue, for either side ... but it appeared to me that the Prosecutors were very deliberately, and intentionally silent on the issue of Spitz. Maybe they want to force Baez to declare Spitz unavailable? Or want to let Baez run out all deadlines for Spitz to provide a report and/or replace Spitz with any other Expert?

I don't think the HIPAA laws apply. I think they apply only to medical practitioners.

I think it was all about JB having 'control' over some info (sound like ICA?) and he was going over-board in protecting his 'secret'. I know something you don't, nyah, nyah, nyah.

He jabbed at JA for revealing it was a 'medical condition'. Strange? I personally thought that it was politically correct to term it in that way, being honest but not revealing the condition. I can understand that, to not reveal the details. JB wanted it totally 'confidential'. Needless secrecy.

I think HHJP agreed with JA because he mentioned it as the 'medical condition' at least 3 times afterwards.

Hahaha!! Cyberborg!! I just posted almost exactly the same thing!!

I like the way you think! :floorlaugh:

Watching the video and I'm at the twitter part. HHJP looks like he wants to bust a gut when JA hands him the page and when JA says "home with her sick cat" John Allen does bust out laughing.

It is amusing to me that Baez bragged about using his own money to go to the conference (Feb 21-26) to meet with the Defense Experts, and he has most likely already paid for his registration for the conference ..... but the Judge did NOT allow him an extension of time on the Expert's reports, who Baez had hoped to meet at this conference which he has already paid for, and probably already booked a hotel room! Baez already put in a Notice of Unavailability for Feb 21-25th!

I am finishing the 2nd video now. I can't get over that Baez seems so surprised that the extension to late February was denied. The man has been given extension after extension, then slapped with sanctions for not meeting the last deadline imposed.... It baffles me why on earth he even thought Judge Perry would entertain the idea. Seriously. It is nuts. Not to mention, he filed the request a couple of weeks ago and never even scheduled a hearing so that the request could be <not> considered.

I don't understand that man in the least. Even for a bad lawyer, it doesn't make sense.

And even if they did, he didn't disclose what the medical condition was...it's not like he said Werner Spitz is recovering from breast augmentation (no he's not, just kidding).
