I had a lady walk into my office recently (no appointment) and asked if I represented the mob. Since she was clearly INSANE :crazy: the receptionist was freaked out and came running back to ask if she could hide in the copy room while I talked to the CRAZY person. :waitasec:

Turns out the reason she wanted to know is because she wanted to see if I would have a conflict of interest in suing the mob for KIDNAPPING HER BRAIN!! :ufo:

I told her I did not, personally, specialize in mob brain-napping cases, but I was QUITE sure they could help her at the offices of the State Bar, across the street. :floorlaugh:

Then I went back to the copy room to tell the receptionist the coast was clear. :truce:

I've said it before "Legal Sociopath". he was astonished that his song and dance for more time didn't work the way he wanted it today, because it has always worked in the past. he is EXACTLY like his "diabolically lying" client. A complete and utter narcissist to which rules only apply to others. He literally cannot grasp how or why this stuff applies to him. I think the oposing council and the judge are finally starting to figure out exactly what they are dealing with here. You will notice that neither is giving JB the typical lawyers presumption of truth or the benefit of any doubt anymore. Any even minute thing out of his mouth is being cross examined and double checked. Today in court was very very similar to KC's little trip to Universal studios with YM. And the sad thing is I really don't think he see's the noose tightening. I honestly don't think he grasps how far outside the norms of professional legal behavior he is. If he had even a mild clue we would never have seen today. He would have taken the hint at his last dressing down.

I do notice that HHJP asks a question, JA answers it HHJP says ok thank you. He asks JB a question, he gets a whine, an exuse, a dig, then HHJP has to reprimand, question, and warn and it takes 15 minutes per question.

And even if they did, he didn't disclose what the medical condition was...it's not like he said Werner Spitz is recovering from breast augmentation (no he's not, just kidding).

JB is trying to keep Dr. Spitz's condition as much on the quiet as he can in order to stretch things out for as long as he possibly can. He is claiming there will be a delay now because he is drugged from meds or hospitalized. But what he almost assuredly already knows or has been told (if he has in fact contacted Dr. Spitz's staff or family, assuming they returned his calls) is that given the nature of the injury, and the nature and age of the patient, there is next to no chance that Dr. Spitz will be available for the start of this trial. JB knows that he is going to have to replace him. But he is trying to push that declaration back as far as he can in order to once again delay delay delay.

JB has no care or concern for Dr. Spitz's medical condition, privacy or HiPPA. (heck he probably wouldn't know how to look up HiPPA on the web). Like everything we have seen from JB to date his concerns and claims are self serving to himself and his client, masked with a thin veneer of sleaze.

The only comment I have is that I believe Baez goes to bed at night wishing Judge Strickland was still there....
The irony...oh how rich!

It would behoove JB to be selective in what he whines about, getting his digs in and respond to some things succintly and professionally.

If you whine and babble about everything then everything is going to be treated with the same skepticism and results. It all basically gets lost in the noise so when he REALLY wants something bad ... he is out of luck.

I know enough about it having been in college at the time of the murders. One of my best college friends was VERY close to Christa Hoyt. I have also have read quite a few of the motions and rulings in the case. Additionally his appeals attorney knows someone I know so I know some things but nothing privileged. He confirmed the guy was a ""..his words.

IMO Judge Perry was reminding JB that the penalty phase jurors were from Gainesville where the murders had taken place. That verdict / sentence was NOT overturned based on change of venue issues!

About Judge Perry calling that lab, didn't he ask for the number of the lab's director? That's Dr. Logan, the guy who is supposed to testify about Dr. Vass' work and who unavailable to answer Baez' calls. It looks like the Judge's phone call could clear up more than just the progress on the DNA reports.

Also, Judge Perry mentioned he's ready to rule on the ocean of motions (the ones not scheduled for March hearings). Hopefully we'll see those rulings on Monday.

Watch the interactions between JB and JA, LDB and HHJP and HHJS carefully and note how they have evolved. At the beginning they would challenge JB on the evidence and the material facts of the case, but while they may give him strange looks about some of his claims he was given a fairly long leash. They did not directly challenge the assorted claims coming out of his mouth. They would challenge him on his clients acts and actions. Not really his own. Typical interaction between lawyers.

Compare that with today. I don't think the subject of KC Anthony ever entered the courtroom today. Rather all parties were targeting and zeroing in on everything that came out of JB's mouth. Those Kathy Reich tweets... That was pre-preparation to challenge the lawyer, NOT the defendant. The difference is subtle but HUGE.
