Gosh I sure envy Amil!!!! I would LOVE to be sitting in that court room for every single hearing!

Great job Amil posting the "after court" reviews!!!!! Bravo!!!

and what was with all the watch looking? It gave the impression this hearing was a big ole waste of his time.

Well In Session stops coverage at 3PM so maybe they were hoping to give a one sided soundbite for immediate airing.

I don't understand the Twitter references.... :waitasec:

Ok, I will quit asking and go read from p. 5 forward. Maybe the video will be uploaded by then. lol

Beach, that was yet another favorite moment.

Baez had whined on and on and on about poor pro bono Kathy Reichs. How she is soooo busy and soooo hard to get ahold of. And how awfully hard he has tried to reach her about a report, and how he is taking his "unique opportunity" to go all the way to Chicago or wherever the convention is just to be able to take time with her and his other reaaaallllly busy experts.

Then, calm as can be, JA produced copies for the Judge and the defense of several pages of Kathy Reichs tweets over the last month or two - detailing her time off spent with kids, her cats, on vacation in Tahiti etc, etc, etc.

Priceless!!!

Then, just to make it better, Baez gets up to the podium and weasels, and whines and mutters about Twitter yada, yada, yade and tosses his copy of the tweets back onto the SAO's table!

You can hear JA whisper to Baez "Those are your copies" and Baez announces that HE doesn't need them. Dollars to donuts that at some point in the future, Baez will complain that he never received a copy!

I was laughing so hard that I might be mistaken, and the camera was on Baez at the podium, but I thought I saw one of the SAO's pass over a copy to Mason - might have been something else, but I thought it was the Twitter copies!

Priceless!!!

Wow, after posting on the Irony thread, I am officially renaming this hearing to "Hearing O' Irony is Rich".

Wait a minute....
Just now getting to the beginning of this thread so sorry this is late but....

Is the above BBM true? Are you saying the court went to all the trouble of moving the defense table after all their complaining about photographers/ camera men taking pics/video that was too close, and the defense didn't even use it????

Unbelievable!!!!! Obviously they just complain to hear their own voice!:banghead:

:cow:

No, IMO InSessions (or TruTV) commentators were wrong as usual. They saw two people sitting at desks against the wall which have always been there. The defense came in and sat at their normal places.

There was no furniture rearranging done.

Kathy was tweeting from Tahiti for crying out loud....Baez could have contacted her via twitter.

Baez keeps mentioning a word and I know everyone has picked up on it but it is starting to get concerning. That word...

DELAY

Baez has talked about DELAYS now about 5 or 6 times - This is where Baez is going, either that or he is subtly trying to threaten the judge.

JB is busy working his way through and exhausting the "1,000 Homework Excuses for Dummies".

I also thoroughly enjoyed how, despite Baez being coy about his "unique opportunity" to visit with Reichs, Rodriguez, et al, that JA laid the conference info right out on the table for the Judge, hee hee hee.

JA also did the same thing regarding Dr. Spitz' mysterious illness, which is pretty much public knowledge. Baez acted as if it were CIA classified info. Again, hee hee hee.

THWARTED

What is wrong with Spitz, I missed that one somewhere. I see where he is unavailable at another trial also. What happenes if he never gets better before trial date. Does JB have to chose another one and then get 2-3 dead line dates?

After the hearing, KB followed the defense out into the hallway. From inside the courtroom you could hear CM yelling John Allen! Get these people away from me. So the rest of the audience goes into the hallway to see what the commotion is all about. KB is asking questions of the defense regarding false statements to the court and CM is bumping her post-bunionectomy-shoe walker with his brief case. He calls her an a$$hole and gets on the elevator. She follows him and a deputy comes between them and indicates that she must get off the elevator.
Sgt Allen and another deputy are sitting in the front row behind the prosecution during the hearing. They wouldn't tell KB what they were there for. After the hearing JB and CM come up to them and talk. I think I heard that they promised to get some papers to them. I heard the word polygraph, but I don't know the context nor do I know who said that. The defense left the building without an escort of any kind. Sgt Allen and his co-worker left with the prosecution.

Thank you Amil! :)

I posted on page 2 I saw Sgt John Allen - couldn't figure out at the time why he might be in court, I thought maybe an ambush motion hearing was coming.

*trying so hard not to laugh* somehow...wait for it...a chicken bone perforated his bowels.

I am so not kidding. And Baez wanted this SEALED!

I keeping getting images of JB at this convention chasing his supposed experts down hallways as they desperately try to avoid all contact. JB popping out from behind potted plants in the dining room, stalking their housekeepers to determine if they are in there rooms ignoring his plaintiff knocking or if they are truly out right now.

I am sorry, I have the giggles.

Maybe he'll go in disguise, I'm thinking curly red wig, big checked trousers and maybe some over sized shoes?

I sure hope Kathy Belich had her camera man with her and a fresh tape was rolling.

Well, I'm thinking if Baez took a polygraph, the machine would explode. Can't be him.

I am worried about JB. I hope he is aware of how cold it is in Chicago in February and packs the appropriate clothing to take with him. I would hate it if he caught a cold and had to delay things even more!

Wonder if he even has cold wather clothing?

He said the state had that evidence for 2 1/2 years and waited to test it. That is not true and wasn't corrected by the state. We know BC had it for some time. Evidently something caused the state to go back and get the diary.

The State asked for the diary to compare the writing on the jailhouse letters to the diary to verify it was, in fact, KC's writing. It was a know sample. So it has not been 2 years. jmo

Too funny, someone made a comment about that on the comment section on wesh as I was watching but I did not understand thought it was a joke. Thanks.

It was the final bone that broke the doctors back ... (excuse me).

This is why all experts do lab notes and reports and JB has them. Backup plan.

Question:

In all the palavering about the diary, the one thing that stood out to me was that Judge Perry mentioned testing the ink. I do not recall that *anyone* to that point in the discussion mentioned this - it seemed to be all about the "relevance" of Casey eating chocolate.

Did I miss something, or is Judge Perry reading the discovery?

This is the first time I have missed watching a hearing live. I must say, I think I prefer just reading the thread and the updates from all of you wonderful people! My blood pressure didn’t go up...I actually laughed out loud a few times. It was enjoyable instead of excrutiating! THANKS TO YOU ALL.

Oh, and regarding the judge asking for the lab number....I know from personal experience in my court that when an attorney reputation gets him to the point that a judge has to call to verify what he has said (i.e., Judge, I'm sorry I missed that hearing this morning I was in another court)....it is very, very bad.

akamai will not load on my computer. I give permission, and tell it to download, and nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Boy, I LOVE this Judge! Although he has the patience of Job, and he sounds like he is running out!

I am running Windows Media Player 10.0 and it worked fine, except the audio, which I thought was a court problem.

Is CM laughing??? :D He looks like it, as JB sits down looking flustered. He won't even make eye contact with Baez.

ETA: Wow, i think i'm running a minute ahead of everyone!

Yes, he was --- I even caught him trying to hide the snicker! Maybe it was a sniffer snicker!
