Clint says until his daughter makes it home, he still has his work cut out.

"I'm not going to give up hope," he said, "I'll keep searching."

Even if the leads take him out of state. Why did I see this coming?

Adkins "Needs to Help Find Hailey" Father Says

From your link..

"I'm getting used to the fact that people are going to believe negative things," said Billie Dunn, Hailey's mother.

Billie says despite some past issues with cooperation, Adkins is starting to work better with authorities.

"The investigators felt he answered a lot of questions yesterday," she said.

Is it possible that BD is THIS co-dependent? I just don't think so..<MOO

So Billie says that investigators felt Shawn answered a lot of questions yesterday..Really Billie? ..and did investigators tell you this or did Shawn? :banghead:..

Umm..people usually WILL tend to believe negative things about Shawn when he is the only named suspect aka/the awesome one she lurves and has had *some past issues with cooperation* into the investigation of her daughter's disappearance..Is that really difficult for her to understand???

But right now, law enforcement says Adkins joining the search effort is not a good idea.

"If you're a named person of interest, probably wouldn't be a good idea to be out," said Pete Kampfer, City Manager of Colorado City and spokesperson for Colorado City Police.

Despite Adkins' claim he had no role in Hailey's disappearance, law enforcement says, they will continue to pursue leads.

"We'll eventually put someone in jail, if not him," said Kampfer.

So, pray tell, Billie........IF SA did answer a lot of questions yesterday did he answer them truthful and fully to the best of his knowledge? What the heck took him so long to start talking?

Personally i think hes doing so much to try and find his daughter.

SA says he didn't delete any calls in his interview. Billie says he admitted they were there, police gave him his phone back, and then they were gone. Poof. "Vanished into thin air"... I think maybe they were questioning him, they looked at the calls, left the interrogation room and watched him delete those calls. So, they got to take the phones (which is good, didn't need to wait for the call logs, just check the deleted call register on the phone).

GRACE: When we were told that -- when police wanted to look at his cell phone, he started deleting numbers, did he explain that to you?

DUNN: What he told me was, they wanted to see where he had called me at work. He showed it to them on his phone. They said, OK, gave it back to him, and they said show me again. And he says it wasn`t there.

I'm betting that exchange went down something like this..

*LE-well Shawn, we know there were messages/call list on that phone when you showed it to us a few minutes ago and now they're gone and we saw you deleting something..SA-no, no sir, I don't know what happened, I might have been checking to see if I had a message and if anything was deleted it was by complete accident when I handed the phone back to to you officer* .

Total Speculation on my part above..but again I say ..Anyone can try to justify and explain away ANYTHING they say or do and absent of absolute proof to the contrary (which would be captured on film if LE was recording this) if they want to bad enough..Usually it makes no sense (as we see here) but I've all but given up on SA or BD giving a straight honest answer to anything..

and why TODAY did his attorney tell him to clam up to the media (and LE too most likely) Do we know whether his attorney was with him when he 'cleared some things up' with LE yesterday? Carp, I don't even know what thread I'm in..probably the wrong one with my luck!

Well, the phone is in her name. I guess it doesn't mean she was paying the bill, maybe he reimbursed her every month. But considering he had no working car, no computer of his own, and he moved in with his gf after living at grandmas -----I am going to make an educated guess that mom was paying the bill.

True..I'm like you though..just like what I was saying in my earlier post that I had done..It didn't cost me that much more to pay the whole bill and there were times in years past that it was a way I could help them make ends meet. But if one of them had just up and quit their job, I wouldn't be pay it another month..

Can you imagine being questioned by the law and you are sitting there holding your cell phone checking for messages???? And deleting stuff while you are under their watch????Good grief. I would be messing in my pants.

Me too and didn't mean anything negative by that...other than it sounds to me like someone is sending the "proverbial bus" anywhere as long as it's away from them..(and I don't mean Clint)..

Yes,but in light of some other things to go out of state wouldn't go over too well, that's what FBI is for in these cases.

Wonder where Clint's tips or leads are coming from for the most part? I do hope that any persons that could have an agenda aren't just giving him false hope, trying to get him out of the way or deflect his attention in any way...

A concerted effort to do something like that would be cruel beyond belief and IMHO there are some that could be very capable of doing just that...

Sociopaths usually think they are above the law and smarter than LE.....MOO

bumping this up again:

The Mitchell County district attorney is working to build a case in the disappearance of Hailey Dunn to hand over to a grand jury, Michell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs said. But right now, there isn't enough evidence to arrest the only named suspect, Shawn Adkins.

http://bigcountryhomepage.com/fulltext?nxd_id=334596

circumstantial cases take TIME... TIME.. TIME... but they are building a case.

glad to see SA and BD talking.. talking and talking some more... more amo..

moo

Do we know anything about the grand jury in that area?
When they meet etc...........

I think SA is speaking to the media because he knows he is no longer the focus of LEs investigation. I am sure his lawyer never would have let him speak to the media otherwise.

An attorney will always have their client to stop speaking to LE and the media. Its a standard practice to protect their client.

Aside from my feelings about SAs involvement, I personally can understand that when you feel you have given the information, answered all the questions you get fed up repeating yourself and end the discussion. Its certainly been my experience in arguments and discussions. I dont know the answer or have the answer you want. End of discussion. And I would feel the same way whether its a missing child or the state of Alaska exploded and I was the last one on the plane.
My opinion.

Another oddity. Bille allegedly did not find out about SA's job until Wednesday Dec 29th at the police station. This was according to her friend CZ. Now SA is saying he told Billie he was fired but told LE he quit? Nothing about this case makes any logical sense. Poor Hailey didn't have a chance.

bbm~

I have to respectfully disagree with you here..I DO believe that LE would just LOVE IT if SA and any others thought that they were no longer the focus in this investigation.. I know I personally hope he believes that!

Wha'cha want to bet Shawn didn't run the idea of the presser by his attorney before doing it?...Just taking a wild guess here..:)

After watching the raw interview, I feel Shawn thinks Hailey won't be found and he will never be arrested. He's confident in himself. After all, he's outsmarted LE agencies for over two months now.
