2011.02.21: Hailey's Angel's Quit Searching(decision reversed 2011.2.22)

When I read about BD worried about Hailey in ugly places and dirt; it made me wonder about 2 things.
1. is Hailey in an ugly lace in the dirt
or
2. was Hailey put in a nice place, dirt free..........make shift mauseleum.........celler? shed? in a box? container?
what BD says always haunts me..........and the video made her so upset.....why?
are searchers getting closer??? JMOO

I'm thinking Hailey is buried in dirt somewhere, and she slipped talking about it - not that she put her there, but that maybe SA told her that he buried Hailey in the ground. I think she's afraid if they go looking in ugly, dirty places, they will find Hailey, and she and Shawn's awesomeness will be over forever.

Whatever happened at that dinner to upset BD, I don't think it had anything to do with Hailey, but rather a perceived slight toward SA or BD herself. That the only thing in the past I have seen her get visably emotional about. imo

Was hoping to see the video of so much speculation, but realize it would be impossible for any media to have the whole thing available to the public. Maybe they could break itdown into a little each day. ????

I agree with you. I don't think it was the actual video she was upset at. It was something else, but the video was an easy excuse to cry foul and get back home to SA.
I'm curious as to what was being discussed at this dinner with BD. Was there talk of all the amazing things she is going to do as she travels to spread the word of missing children? IMO, I think that right there may be her problem. She was sitting at a dinner that she could not bring the awesome SA to with her. She had to leave him home. She's going to a rally on Sunday and can't take the awesome SA with her. She has to leave him home. Now everyone is pushing her to get out there and spread Hailey's story...but in order to do that she has to leave the awesome SA home. Just how long do you think the awesome SA is going to wait patiently at home for BD? Not long at all. We know it and BD knows it. All imo.

Didn't even think about if I could post it here or not , to be honest I still had the tears in my eyes when I posted it. I hope I didn't do anything wrong posting it here. I agree everyone should watch and see what these wonderful ANGELS are doing to help find HAILEY, May god bless every step they take.

I watched this the other day, it was heartbreaking, especially towards the end with Clint holding his baby daughter. It's worth watching again. You can tell that his heart is in a million pieces.

Wow! I am watching the video now & I have to say (through tear filled eyes) that if my child was missing I would want these ladies on my side. Hailey is lucky to have such a dedicated group of ladies searching for her.

Thank you Hailey's Angels for your continued determination to plod through dirty fields and dirty streams in hopes of finding Hailey. She is out there, somewhere. I admire your unselfishness, your compassion, your willingness to do whatever it takes to bring Hailey home. You all voluntarily left the comfort and warmth of your homes and your loved ones to leave no stone unturned in the search for Hailey Dunn. Seems to me that they should not need any special rewards, because AFAIK, they haven't found Hailey yet. And from reading around over the net, sounds like they're doing a little gossiping and sort of an "in-your-face" thing. Putting up a memorial close to Shawn's grandmother's?? Hailey wasn't there that much. (And good for Naomi for putting one closer to home!) Glaring at the people sitting on the porch?? Trying to prove to Billie that Shawn did something bad to Hailey?? Really? Are these people adults?

If they are searching for Hailey, that's good, but they should be doing it for Hailey... not for Billie, not for Clint, not for anyone, and certainly not for the accoldades they seem to expect. Nor for the purpose of trying to prove anything. I always heard that if you do good deeds for someone out of the goodness of your heart, you don't need anything except a simple thank you. The good feeling you get from doing it should be enough.

I suppose you are talking about all of the searchers? From Klaaskids and Laura Recovery Center, etc.? Not just Hailey's Angels? Are all of the searchers held to the same standard? None of them have found Hailey, yet. The dinner was for and attended by searchers from different groups...not just Hailey's Angels.

I manage a large group of volunteers on a regular basis and I have to say I understand totally why an appreciation event was held. I am not sure who organized it or the motivations behind inviting BD, but it is not out of line at all IMO to have a thank you get together outside of the standard volunteering time. The organization I work for hosts an annual thank you reception with food and activities to say thank you for all the unpaid hours of voluntary support these dedicated people provide. It's just kind of what's done, KWIM?

I can't help but wonder if there was an ulterior motive behind inviting BD and showing such an extensive video that is clearly heart wrenching to anyone...

These dedicated folks should be thanked for what they do, because it is awful and sad, and it would be a shame IMO if someone muddied up the appreciation event with a plot to shake loose some info from BD. She herself stated she felt a strange mood and focus on her...although she always seems to feel the focus is on her IMO!

BBM. I tried but I simply don’t understand your viewpoint about these searchers. Are you blaming these searchers because "they" haven't found Hailey yet? How did this become their fault? Too bad there wasn’t more reliable statements made to LE to go on.
I think it is perfectly clear that these volunteer searchers are out every day because they are looking for Hailey, who is not their daughter. Why would these people drag themselves out of a warm comfy home to brave the biting cold, They put themselves at risk walking through fields containing crawly little critters who might bite. Heaven knows, it’s certainly not a walk in the park. BTW I haven’t noticed any conveniently placed port-a-potties placed here and there for their nature calls.
They aren't sitting on their butts watching tv and drinking hot coffee or sipping a Dr. Pepper either. They are unpaid, unselfish compassionate volunteers who have been actively been searching for Hailey, who is not their daughter. This rates them pretty high in my estimation. They rate a ten for this, hands down.
They also should be entitled to some appreciation from a parent. As a matter of common courtesy, out of respect for what they are doing, day after day, out there in miserable dirty places.
BTW ~ I don't see their hands outstretched for any contributions either. Out of the goodness of their hearts, they have been and will continue searching for someone who is not their daughter.

EVERY volunteer organization I have ever worked with had Volunteer Appreciation Events. The truth is if you want people to keep coming back they need to feel appreciated. I don't find that too upsetting. Volunteer work like this requires a tremendous amount of personal sacrifice. Why shouldn't they get some appreciation? It does not mean they are doing the searching FOR the appreciation, but a little encouragement and gratitude would be nice. IMO Especially for searchers who showed up EVERY DAY FOR 8 WEEKS.

This group is passionate, and there are some raw edges. They did not act like a professional search group would. But then the professional groups show up for Hailey sporadically. They are searching for many missing, all over the country. But many are being paid, or at least reimbursed for expenses.

Hailey's Angels were focussed on Hailey only. So perhaps they did get too personal, too in your face. But if my child was missing, I would rather have a passionate, focussed group searching every day, no matter if they thought my BF was involved or not. Who cares. Find Hailey and the answers wil be found. It looks to me like Billie is trying to avoid that.

Has anyone on this forum seen this video? If not I don't know how anyone can post an opinion of what their motive was and why or why not BD should have reacted the way she did.

I am not sure a dinner is the proper place but then as I said above I haven't seen the video. I am sure BD has visions of the worst in her mind and she doesn't need to be reminded of it by a video espeically at the dinner hour. jmo
