I'm gonna give the searchers a little slack for having a private appreciation dinner. Maybe they felt the need to unwind amongst themselves for just a little while. I can't say that I blame them. I couldn't go out there every day for 8 weeks not knowing what I may find without getting a little stressed out. heck, I would have had to have had a drink way before 8 weeks.

Yeah I agree again and see what you are saying but at the same time if they want to have a drink that is fine have one. Go out for a few drinks and relieve some stress but to throw a party/dinner about searching for a possibly dead child is what does not sit well with me.

As for the legion my cousin's wedding reception was held at one this past summer. They have a dining area where the party is held and also a bar inside of it.

So...nobody was invited but Hailey's Angels? Yet, BJ and Clint show up and people from other search groups? One of those members from a nationally known search group supposedly told Hailey's Angels to turn off the film.

The person who had the video shut off was a person trained by an organized group, and from the article, it sounds like no one was there but members of HA and their family and friends.

Sounds like a lack to tact was missing on both sides. imo

I totally get where you are coming and agree to an extent but her daughter is missing here. I would be livid though if some search group looking for my missing daughter had an appreciation dinner about themselves. I mean I just do not get the point of it. I get they are searching for Hailey and I think it is wonderful but it is about her not them. I would be annoyed. It just screams attention to me.

Maybe Billie was going to see what exactly it was about. I would do the same thing like I said if some search group looking for my daughter was having a dinner that was all about them. It is about HAILEY!

I think you have things backwards, imo.
They did not ask for 'attention' because they only invited themselves. It was a dinner, a chance to come together somewhere besides the barren fields, and sit together and reflect. Many of these searchers showed up virtually every day for 8 weeks. Why shouldn't they share a nice PRIVATE dinner and watch a video that shows how hard they have worked.

Why should that bother Billie in any way? She should have been the one throwing the dinner but we all know that will never happen.

The MAIN volunteer organized this dinner for all of the locals who came out so faithfully. The video was designed for THEM. It was not about Hailey, IT WAS ABOUT THEIR SEARCH FOR HAILEY.

Billie crashed the event, then was 'offended' by a video about the searchers and the hard work they did. What a shallow, petty creature she is showing herself to be.

The one woman on a video was telling the searchers to be wary of "wild hogs". They are M E A N...and will eat you alive. I hope they took their six shooter with them...and yep, they deserved that night.

It is an APPRECIATION DINNER. Not the same thing as a 'party about searching for a dead child.'

I don't know if you have worked with many volunteer organizations but it is very common to throw a dinner for yourselves, within the group, to keep up morale, and to keep them volunteering.

Our school parent volunteer group had them, and we had videos, and if any teachers or staff from the high school ever saw them they would have walked out too. LOL It wasn't meant for them, it was meant for us. Oh yes, we got drinks with dinner too.

WE patted ourselves on the back because the kids were not going to. The SChool did in some ways, but having an Appreciation Dinner among the volunteers is priceless.

But the dinner was not supposed to be about Hailey. It was supposed to be about the searchers. It was an APPRECIATION DINNER, aimed at the volunteers themselves.
Billie crashed the event. She was not invited because it was not about her or her family. It was designed to THANK the volunteers. So Billie and her group walk out, on a video that was not even planned for them to watch,and get all righteous because the video 'was all about the searchers'. YES IT WAS about the searchers because it was a PRIVATE Appreciation Dinner, which Billie and her entourage CRASHED.

And why shouldnt the group be drinking at the dinner? WTH?

Maybe it was Clint and his entourage. I have not heard SA was there.
Is CD part of Billie's entourage or is Billie part of his? Just wondering.

I find it completely reasonable for them to asume they would be welcome at this dinner. Clint has spent time with this group before why would he not want to go to the Thank you event.

When the event is planned to honor the people who have been searching for his child I could see him wanting to say thank you again.

Now if they were upset about the video and walked out they should not have been confronted.
The host could have called them following the event and tried to smooth that over.
Class was called for but was not attending that dinner.
Even if SA killed Hailey that does not mean her parents are not victims.
Classless handling of a sensitive issue is what it boils down to. IMO.

Well they were sure upset when BD and CD decided to leave. And if it was a closed event they should not have been allowed in. Everyone knows who they are.

And yes, everyone knew they were there. But were they supposed to not show the video they worked on for weeks just in case Billie would be upset?
She is the one who crashed the event. One would think she knew it was about SEARCHING THE DIRT.

Hailey was asleep when Billie left, and Billie admits they never spoke that day at all.

And since when was H going to play basketball. That is not what she told Shawn, the last one to speak to her. Why would she lie to him about going to play basketball?

When did she tell her " not to leave the house that day"? I thought she only saw a sleeping Hailey that morning before she went to work, she has never said she talk to Hailey that day. If she "did' talk to Hailey that day and she came home and found out she left without permission why the heck didn't she try to find her then???? and the last sentence about Shawn, oh my blood pressure is high right now !!!! How upset would you be if you told your daughter not to leave the house....and then say and do nothing after learning she was going to sleep over... I don't think too many mothers would let that slide. She keeps making herself look stupid. imo

I am going to say again. BD is not the one who broke this story. It was the search group by saying they were not going to search anymore because BD said things to them that offended them. It is my opinion that BD is now in a defensive position and she is defending herself. She is not the one who started it. If I am wrong I stand corrected. jmo
