Squirrel didn't smell like decomp - no signature decomp like suplpha compounds (I think that is what we said).

Did you use laser induced spectrascopy (LIBS) - non-destructive technique? - yes

My guess is they will try to discredit Vass as a crackpot, talking about his flies on a leash. I hope they try this, anyway. I really, really do! BWAHAHAHA!!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if Baez didn't accuse him of being a war criminal or something. Seriously, he's that low.

The paper towel had gravewax on it didn't it?

did you receive a paper towel with a substance on it?
yes. large amounts of fly pupae on them. wanted to know what attracted the flies to those paper towels.

Paper Towel!..... Casey quickly looks down.........

what was revealed about the stain?

they were large parts of grave wax.

Talking about grave wax - a combination of fatty acids (on paper towels)

The ball is over the fence, out of the park, down the road, out the door, over the hill, around the corner.

HOME RUN TEAM CAYLEE

Haskell sent him paper towells - did menthanol extraction on stained and non stained portions - chromatagraph showed adipociere (grave wax)

You know those pesky squirrels...always climbing into trunks of cars and dying and decomposing...

Yep - but Baez will want to ask him if it decomposed in the FL sun as opposed to the TN sun, and whether or not there was a bag of garbage containing pizza and cheese also on the carpet! :banghead:

Grave wax on the paper towels. Did I catch that right?

Paper towels were tested, most interesting was the grave wax!!!

I love Dr. V.! he can explain this science so that a totally non-scientific artist can understand. It's sooooo interesting!

.

the largest part of what he saw as a stain on the paper towel ended up being grave wax.

Paper towels had fly pupae on them. Stains on paper towels we did a methonol extraction of stained and unstained portions of paper towels. number of compounds there most interesting, very large, adipocere - grave wax - 14 acids - with both saturated and unsaturated compounds there.

Peer reviewed literature - Dr. Sherry Forbes in Canada - world expert 2002 and 2005 papers state those particular fatty acids are what you see in adipocere.
