In Sessions is just a big ball of negativity....I'm about down with them.

moo

I was done as of last week. They went from poor Caylee, to poor Anthonys, in a blink of an eye. :(

Sorry to quote myself but this is all I got about the heart shaped sticker. is this what the side bar was about? I think so and then the judge asked that the information be sealed until the trial.

I think the defense can still file a motion? On that I am confused.

Re: Heart shaped sticker: JB said ok to argue from motions...JA said he hadn't filed a reply to the motion, but his argument would be the same as the other defense motions in limine...

in other words, JA's argument would be that the DT has not proven their burdan of proof, so HHJP can rule from that.

Jose can never really take a hint... can he?

Judge Perry was basically telling JB that they are not going to be able to make jury selection a long drawn-out process and that if they can not sit a jury within that first week (media will know by the first day where they are) that the jury pool will be tainted in that location. So basically if he was planning on stalling the jury selection process that he can look forward to jury selection in Orange County.

Seems to me that Judge Perry picked a location that has very little access to media... especially national media. He probably picked a location with the least amount of homes with cable... is what I am thinking. So it is their best bet to get a jury that knows very little about this case from that location and if JB wants to draw this out so long that the media infiltrates this area with information about this case... they might as well have a jury in Orlando.

Judge Perry is trying to seat a fair jury... and I think he knows that Jose wants to use the excuse that Casey could not get a fair jury... Judge Perry is trying to make that an impossible argument for JB and company!

LolaMoon ITA Respectfully Quoted and adding what came from the other thread as notes. :tyou:

There will be one change to the trial schedule jury selection nine am on May 9th. Hopefully we will have a jury by that thursday or friday. If we do that you are going to need to do certain things. instead of starting that monday we will start testimony and opening statements on tuesday. to give you time to do what you need to do. unless we are unable to get a jury from the location. it is my intent to begin jury selection here: in orange county that tuesday when we come back here. I know you probably have arguments I would like to hear, if we can't get one at that location we will come here, if that fails we will go somewhere else. I will listen to arguments, if you prevail I will have a secondary location in line for that tuesday. Mr. Mason you look perplexed.
CM: for the very first time. asking about the locations
HH: unless you persuade me to go to another location.
JB: are we not welcome at the first location for more than a week?
HH: you are welcome for as long, but the problem that comes in there will be a feeding frenzy. The entire panel will be there I can give certain instructions, so that hopefully they will follow the law and abide by those instructions. once we arrive and once folks know i suspect i may generate some interest. even though there are not that many tv stations.

in answer to JA: HH: they will be sworn. they will come up here and start back striking them. they cannot travel on their own, transported as a group. as we get closer I will share with you some of the rules they will be governed by while they are sequestered. things they will be instructed as to items they should bring. there will be a couple of things sort of in camera about certain aspects of (the jury being sequestered)a lot of those mechanics I was here till six thirty and when I leave you we have more things we have to do. there is a location and a deputy so they are familiar with those people and at some point they will be transported someplace in central florida.
JA: okay
HH: prob will not have real time jury selection. simple reason is you will be in a big area where we do the preliminaries with the whole group and because of the nature of the questioning we will move to a separate those individuals to a different area, they will be kept by deputy to keep them from wandering. so we can maintain their integrity. depending on the schedules some can go home with certain instructions.

JA: you've done that.
HH: anything else? make sure mr. baez all your staff members that you are going to utilize have i.d.s so we can get you in and out. let miss levie know how many people you are going to have so we know we have the right accamodations for everyone. also mr. baez I will have the info on how clothes needs to be delivered for your client.
JB: yes sir
HH: anything else? recess till 1:30 next friday.

Maybe someone can start a thread about the interview if transcripts, etc, can be found...?

My understanding on Wednesday was that both sides were ok with having His Honor rule on the sticker stuff based only on the written pleadings.

OK sleuths--based on what HHJP said today, where do you think they're heading for jury selection?

Do you really want us to guess out loud?

Ok, I've been thinking for some time now Tampa.

Thanks goes to sleutherontheside for having such a good memory :)

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93958&page=9p://

I've listened to untold hours of her tapes and lectures. I have provided links to all of them in the AL thread.

That said....as soon as HHJP said that about no real time transcription, I laughed so hard because I could replay AL's little "trick lecture" in my head as I heard her telling students how to use transcripts in real time.

I guess it just affirmed that there was in fact a reason for me to listen to them...so that the importance of a seemingly innocuous comment, like the one HHJP made, would not be "missed".

HaHa

Just for the record....IMHO women over the age of 22 should never, ever, under any circumstances wear a game jersey out in public unless it is at the "Game". I can not begin to imagine the thought process that went through the mind of this individual while she was standing in her closet observing her clothing and upon seeing this shirt deciding, yes, this is what I will wear in a courtroom today to observe the serious hearings taking place regarding a murdered child.:banghead:

Anyone wonder if KC's friends helped her with her eyebrows?

Better delete, Dr. Fessel...I made a similar comment about KC's brows and it was deleted. :( It wasn't really mean...I was truly curious.

Let's just hope he sticks to his word on this one! :) I wouldn't be surprised if JB and Co. try some shenanigans.
